Okayyyyyyy I’m gonna make a chat thread where civil arguments are allowed, because I feel like banning arguments is a really bad idea that will just end up with people arguing anyways because they’ve got a lot of rage cooped up.
And I refuse to ever take things to insults. You guys should not be blaming me for getting mad at people for opinions, because other people got mad at me for my opinions, I remained civilized.
It’s not that I’m trying to ban arguments, I just want them to stop going so far
That makes sense.
But I’m still gonna make my thread because if one person watching the argument gets uncomfortable and the arguers still want to settle things, they can switch threads and the people watching don’t have to look.

I think maybe we should just have a policy of no arguing on onions, and if u rlly wanna argue then go to pms? Ik it’s kinda a band aid fix but if ppl actually enforce it and want onions to stay it could work.
Saying “hey you’re not allowed to argue” on a chat thread is kinda silly if you ask me. There’s always going to be arguments, and then you get into the really arbitrary area of what consists of an argument, and then there’s people who get butthurt over nothing and so on so forth
Would like to point out, arguments and disagreements are different

So nobody gets hurt

Good idea. I think arguments are always gonna happen esp. in a community this diverse, but we just need to control how we handle them and respect others opinions. For example, when I was on chb I suggested a song by one of my fav musicians to Salem. They said it was meh/mid. I personally don’t think this, but did I say anything bad or rude to Salem? No. All I said was that that take was valid, and that was that. Is this a stupidly long statement which prob doesn’t get the point across? Yes. Am I still gonna post it? Yes, because derp. :p
