*i was thinking that the sword would be made of iron, and have a compartment that traps the 'essence' of the ghost, while the ghost can extrude its body from the compartment, but not the essence. presumably, the guy would know how to make the compartments.*

 *cool idea but some problems 1 there is no separate part of ghost. They are souls 2 having a ghost that close to iron would kill the ghost and even if it didn’t kill it it wouldn’t be able to ever leave the compartment 3 a ghost wouldn’t want to do anything that helps a human*
