The god-eater ghoul is back at the Starshredder, preparing its next move. That small fragment of the Frenzied Flame has been carefully tended to these last few days- with how much fuel it has given it, the blaze has grown from a faint spark to a steadily crackling flame kept safely within one of its star-proof containers. It is currently taking small portions of this flame of madness. Thirty six pieces of wrathful power. It looks to its horde of baleful undead... time to see how strong of soul they truly are.
Adeline is sitting beside another of her campfires, knitting needles clicking every so often amidst her humming as she continues working on her cocoon(?) with faintly trembling hands. She doesn't seem to be in a trance this time, smiling faintly as she hums that old, old song. Those adept in magic can sense that there's been another change manifesting- but not one that can be seen by the eyes. Her fey magic has further integrated itself into her being- the strange hex seems to flow through her very veins.

*Thank you! Hmmm... let's switch things up a bit!*
A pair of red lights appear opposite to Helianth's position in the room. Slowly, the rest of the Witch King fades in. Goto is in the Starshredder. "That little man... he's coming back soon, you know. I would prepare."
Theo, tiny as he is, drags over a small, quartered piece of firewood and places it on the fire. Lord Braafheid sits down opposite to her, warming his gauntlets before the flame. Theo speaks up. "What are all of you people doing so far from shelter?"

The ever-starving sunflower looks up at Goto, at first noticing the crimson glow, without a hint of nervousness- it truly doesn't believe it's in any real danger. "...Don't you fret- I'm preparing as we speak. He won't win again- no one will." It places the fragments of the Frenzied flame in separate containers, gathering them all up in its numerous roots.
The nymph is at first surprised, not noticing them until she hears Theo set the wood atop the fire and the metallic resonance of Lord Braafheid's armor shifting. "I- I was just looking for a nice spot to start knitting. Don't worry, I know my way back to the Sanctuary." She rolls up her project and puts it away in her satchel pocket alongside her knitting supplies. "What brings you two all the way out here?"

"That's a very good reason- and a noble one too. Mother Moth and I have been trying to do something similar- keep people safe from winter." "Even we can only last a short while in this chill. Your fire may save us if you'll allow us to stick by it." Theo tentatively sits down, keeping the fire between himself and Adeline. "His Lordship's skeletons can continue the search for now."

"I... I truly worry for him as well." Is all it can manage to say in response. It also doesn't entirely know why he helped it get here, why he helped it reach up into the heavens and dine on the very stars all that time ago. Could something as simple as love really compel someone to go to such great lengths? Would he... would he still... "...Why are you warning me? Why play the messenger?"
Adeline's smile grows a touch wider seeing the others' decision. "Thank you- I promise I will help to the best of my ability. And of course, I can help start campfires and the like as needed also- keep the bite of winter at bay."

Goto does not follow, calling out from the room. "Tomorrow, if all goes as forseen... I truly worry about the little man... I don't know why he was stupid enough to get caught up in all of this."
Braafheid nods and claps. Theo smiles. "That would be excellent. Goodberries especially, since they'll provide nourishment for the starving people. We'll try and bring them in this direction. It's easier to make small hikes than one long one. Even we don't have the energy to run a marathon in this weather."
*Thank you for your patience- sorry about the delay*
"Because... my divinations speak of something horrible should this go poorly..." He begins to fade out as he faded in. "Prepare thyself... to face your failures..."
*I'm sorry you're been feeling under the weather lately- the the very least, it's nice to hear you're doing alright otherwise. I'm very glad to be back!*

"The other one." He sits down on a table, his gurgling breaths filling the room. "More dangerous to your plans than Atticus ever was." He coughs violently, soda trickling out of his mask. He looks weak.
"Exploring. His Lordship wants to make sure nobody else gets caught out in this cold. With my fur and his lack of vitals, we are well-suited to this." Theo stays behind his Lord as he speaks, looking around frequently to make sure no one is sneaking up on them.

"...Ah, I see. Still, I have contingencies in place. I doubt they'll be able to counter them all." It pauses for a moment, thinking as it sees the soda dripping from behind his mask. "Why are you here? With your vulnerable state, surely your reason is more important than a simple warning."
"That's a very good reason- and a noble one too. Mother Moth and I have been trying to do something similar- keep people safe from winter." Even though she has numerous warm layers of insulation and is sitting next to a crackling fire, she's somewhat shivering. "I wish you both the best of luck in your exploration."

"You're still wrong, Helianth. Think. Who, in this universe or the next, would reasonably be able to stop you? Would be significant enough that I came to warn you?" He wheezes and leans to his side. "Don't be so naive to think he forgot about you. About your promise."
"Even we can only last a short while in this chill. Your fire may save us if you'll allow us to stick by it." Theo tentatively sits down, keeping the fire between himself and Adeline. "His Lordship's skeletons can continue the search for now."

Helianth falls silent for a long while... how could it have possibly forgotten? No, it thinks to itself, there's still time to fix this. There's time to mend things again. "...I intend on keeping my word. I shall not let them ruin this realm." It says this in a hushed tone, as if trying not to draw someone's attention. "They shall never claim a true victory."
"Of course I allow it." She responds with a small smile, shifting to sit a bit closer to the flames on her side of the campfire. "I'm Adeline. If I may ask, who are you two? Don't worry, I can't take names- nor would I want to."

"I foresee pain, Crooked One. You've brought enough ruin as it is." He rears back and cackles, his red glare shining bright. "YOU THINK HE'LL FORGIVE YOU?! YOU THINK WITH ALL THE..." his breaths come shallow, rapid, exhausted, "ALL THE WOMEN (hhh), ALL THE CHILDREN (hhh) WHO FROZE TO DEATH (hhh... hhh...) HE'LL UNDERSTAND YOUR (GASP) REASONING?!" He gets up from the table and immediately falls over, coughing until he vomits a gout of soda, blood, and ashes. "I see it... can you... ?"
"This is Lord Braafheid, a mighty necromancer and death knight, and I am his humble servant and mouthpiece, Theo Gildedguts." The two strangers bow from where they sit. "Are you one of the Duchess' children, perhaps?"

Again, a long time of silence. It looks down at the jars of Frenzied Flame in its gnarled hands and roots. "...Not at first, I imagine... but once I banish this winter and the Ghoul Queen... once I crush the Autumn King... once I forge this land into a land of growth, not death... even if I have to mold it that way with my bare hands... maybe, just maybe he'll see that it's all been worth it."
"A pleasure to make both your acquaintances." She bows slightly as well. "And yes, that's correct, assuming we're all thinking of the same Duchess. She saved me when no one else would, and now I help her save others too... speaking of which, when you two set off on your journey again, is there some way I could help?"

"And if not? What then? Will you kill him too?" They shake their head. "He's a servant and a protector. He's not a pragmatist like you. He doesn't see the difference between the great and small. In his eyes, you aren't any different from the next person. That's why he was so kind to you. And now, you have murdered hundreds of people, people he believes have the same 'objective' value as you... I pray you are very persuasive. You've seen his tricks. He never steps up to a threat he does not have a perfect method to destroy." He growls. "I wonder if he prays you are very persuasive too."
"Well..." Theo thinks for a bit. "The cold seems to bite you with special hunger. Putting you out to search would be irresponsible at best and murder at worst. What kinds of skills do you have? I see you are good at knitting, but the speed we'll need blankets produced is likely beyond the capabilities of all but industrial machinery."

"...I pray I am very persuasive as well. I would truly hate to have to kill him..." The god-eater leaves this room of the Starshredder, giving one of these containers with the Frenzied Flame to each of the bone beasts that lurk and chatter and screech outside the ship. "...I'm doing this not just for the good of the realm but for him. For us. Hopefully he'll see that. Tell me, messenger, when will he arrive?"
Adeline thinks for a bit as well. "I have some magic that might be of use. Minor healing spells like Goodberry and Cure Wounds that could help save anyone we come across. I think I could also see if the forest spiders can help as well. Would that work?"
