"I think... my name was Carnival... Saltdark..." The walls rumble slightly with their utterances. They seem to be stirring more and more in their sleep. "They're... hurting... me..."

"I see... well, a lack of energy is exactly the problem we're trying to solve, so hopefully you'll get your energy back soon." It roots into the soil nearby, watching the artificial sun.

"Who's hurting you? Do you need my help?" She grows truly panicked when the walls rumble, worried for the slumbering moths' safety.

 He nods. "I don't have any projects other than keeping you from going on a rampage, so it's not that big of a deal right now."

The critter paws at something that doesn't seem to be there before grabbing Adeline's ankle and pulling it close, nearly tripping her. They calm slightly. "I don't want to wake up... they hate me... they pick at my skull..."

"Well, I'm not going on a rampage anytime soon, so you're doing a great job at that." It chuckles a bit to itself. "Besides, 'rampage' is hardly my way of doing things. I prefer a more planned out approach, as you've likely seen."

She nearly falls over, bracing herself on the burrow wall to avoid doing so. "Wha- hey, let me go! I'm not here to hurt you!" She accidentally replies aloud, too surprised in the moment to use telepathy.

 "True, very true. But the flame might have other plans." He rubs his temple. "Ach..."

Carnival jolts awake as if from a nightmare, letting go of Adeline. Waves of alien energy radiate off of them as they clutch their head, hyperventilating. Their eyes are black with deep red irises that glow only barely. "S-shouldn't... be here... I... why did you dig me up?"
