They chitter to each other and relay information to their prince with a quick spell. A larger one, about the size of a halfling, tries to open the window, ignoring the foliage with plant magic.
If they can smell, they notice the room is filled with a wondrous array of scents that stir up quite a lot of present emotions and memories to all who catch even a whiff. A few of the ovens are filled with cooking meats, fresh bread, and sweet smelling pastries and cakes. As they would look around, one of the doors open to reveal a towering yet thin looking creature. The head is that of an skull that seems to mix the features of a wolf and a deer, topped with massive alters covered in various herbs and vines with little berries growing from them. The body was covered in silver white fur, save for the chest which was nothing but an exposed ribcage with what looks to be two beating hearts, one red like burning coal and the other a bluish white like ice that leaks out a cold wisp of mist from time to time. Two large clawed hands hand by it's sides, while to smaller, deft hands seem to be holding a bowl of massed berries. The legs of the creature look more sturdy, like those of a reindeer or a moose then a typical forest deer. The creature was covered in vines and a mantle of autumn leaves kept in pristine condition. The creature walks over to one of the counters in the kitchen, having not notices the little plant creature yet.
They stay at the window, just on the inside, hidden, watching.
*it seems mantles/capes of autumn leaves are in fashion, Julius has one*
*Don't worry, it's more for practicality then to try and show up the great Prince of the Harvest. Got to say warm somehow. XD*
The creature watches as this strange being starts to create filling for a cherry pie. Suddenly, a shadow squeezes through the crack at the bottom of one of the door, before reforming in the kitchen, taking on the same shape as the strange creature currently in the process of baking except made entirely of shadows. In one of it's hands is that same ornate platter with the Turtle shell cloche.
"Oh, your back" The flesh creature says happily. Despite the frightful and unnatural appearance, the voice sounds more like a normal teenage boy full of warmth and life. "You must be tired, you should rest now my friend"
The shadow merely nods as it places the cloche onto the counter, before the creature devolves into a shadow and connects to the creature's feet, becoming it's shadow which the plant creature just now realized it didn't even have until now.
One of the smaller ones, about six inches tall, tries to climb its way over closer to the creature, and the pie filling. Stealth: 18

*oh, that sucks. On the first room of the dungeon?*
"Thank you! I've studied the natural sciences for a long time." He dusts some cinnamon and spices off his apron, smiling wide. "My methods are unconventional, but they're very effective! I used lipid-alchemical treatments to enhance the soil since it was used up by the sugarcane!" He sounds like he could yap on forever about this topic. "See, I used to want to be an adventurer, you know, a battlechef! The guys that go with legendary heroes and feed them legendary meals made from whatever they have on hand! So to test myself, I decided to see if I could grow some very temperamental plants using the used-up muck we have out here!" He stops for a moment, looking embarrassed suddenly. "S-sorry, you're just here for the crops, I know."
The latte is very good, with fresh milk, high-quality beans, and a good spice mix with real pumpkin that is definitely very prominent. It's still just a pumpkin spice latte though. Hard to mess up, but hard to improve.
“No, no, i actually think that’s… awesome. And I mean, you’ve more than accomplished your goal, and that’s coming from me. But I would love to see the crops… just got here and I’d love to start off with something good. I’m sorry, I don’t think I ever got your name… I think that some of the others of the court would enjoy what you make…” he says, taking a bite of the pie, and gesturing for the halfling to sit down with him.
He seems shocked, but tentatively sits down. He seems to be shut up a bit from before. Less confident. "M-my name is Douxgras. It literally means 'Sweet-Fat' in French. B-but you're practically a god, of course you know French! Heh-heh!" He absentmindedly fidgets with his gloves, tugging on the fingers and then on the wrist, sliding them halfway off then on again. He seems to calm a bit when Julius takes a bite of the pie.
The pie is primarily vegetable-based, and the crust is very buttery and flaky. The vegetables truly shine. The squash, the zucchini, the onion, all with delicious farm-fresh cheese. All-in-all, it makes the coffee look weak in comparison.
”this pie,” he says between bites, “is absolutely amazing… I’m starting to remember why I love this town so much. I might have to explore the country more often… thank you for the food, I appreciate it… now, uh, would it be possible I could go back and see that farm of yours? I want to see where the magic happens. Literally, in this case.”
"O-of course, sir!" The "halfling" jumps up and leads Julius to the back room, a greenhouse brimming with all sorts of fruits and vegetables. There are multiple sections for different environments, each one treated with different alchemical and magical treatments. The entire place smells faintly of spiced apple, a scent associated with Lipidation magic, which is known for being powerful, complicated, and most notably, fueled by calories (and thus, fat).
