I can bring it over if you can tell me how much you need. It's sort of a thick jelly that provides complete immunity to flame and heat after it sinks into the material for about a day. Unfortunately, it's also very bad for your health if it rests on your skin for too long. Excruciating neurotoxin. That's actually what it was originally made for, or so I heard."
"That sounds like it would work perfectly! Though, I can't recall the Spelljammer's exact measurements at the moment. What say we both head there to see how much is needed for ourselves? If that works with you, of course."

Helianth is silent for a long time, processing all this information. "So... what you're saying... is that..." It falls silent again, its flower heads all face the 'sun'. It thinks back to when it first met the Autumn King, and the words he said to it.
'Here, the sun is eternally saying farewell.'
Oh, how naive it was.
It begins to laugh- not out of joy, but out of exasperation- out of a response to the cruel joke it's fallen for. It is a hollow sound, one that lacks the warmth it normally carries in its voice.

"I found out while you were at the blacksmith. I'm sorry, I really, really thought..."
The merchant jumps between them. "Don't be mad at him. I made the illusion in the first place. I didn't expect... you, basically. I thought it was a nice background, something to keep the plants alive. I can... no, that would kill the Autumn Country. I wanted to hide it from you, make enough changes that you would never even know there was a problem. I do it all the time. Adventures. Dreams come true."
Felix is crying. "I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry!" he sobs.

After a second, it seems more determined- but it's a desperate kind of determination. "This just means I have another reason to go to the stars. So I can't eat that Sun- fine. Fine! I'll just find another, is all."

"I will help in whatever way I can. But the truth is out, and you don't deserve lies in your time of grief." The merchant then dispels part of the illusion directly overhead. A black, empty vault without stars.
"NO!" Felix sobs. "Every other world has a sky, right?"
"Not nearby. Your world had them, but Helianth wouldn't fit through your portal."
"Please..." Felix moans. "Just... leave us some hope... any hope..."
The merchant, if that's even what he is, bows his head. "Give me some time. I can find anything you need. I'll be here when you formulate a plan."
