He doesn’t question it just yet, better to observe and learn, having a South American accent of his own. He skips alongside them, enjoying every step with a smile bright as could be.
She gets to the water’s edge, and whistles. Suddenly, rising out from the water is a small canoe. The inside is perfectly dry as well. She climbs aboard, inviting him to follow.
He definitely makes an impressed whistle by that, sitting in the canoe after them, “I haven’t seen that before, you’ve got some really special power if you can summon boats.”
She chuckles. “This one right here is just enchanted, a gift from my mother. I can summon it if it’s within a couple of miles of me. I’m, uh, not just a hunter. My mother is Brizo, goddess of sailors.” She grabs an oar, and begins rowing.
they move at about twice the speed they realistically should be going, and it’s just her rowing so far.
He looks around for another oar, and if there is another one he picks it up and begins rowing with them, he’s not going to be lazy and not help out. “Sounds like a good mom, don’t know who my god parent is, or even if I have one, I’m just an unclaimed named Rex.”
“I’d be a bit concerned if you didn’t have one and yet you’re at camp, Rex.” She chuckles. “She only claimed me when I turned… 230? Something like that.”
“It doesn’t matter much to me, if I’ve got a god parent and they abandon me and my family, I don’t need one at all.” He shrugs, tilting his head “You don’t look it in the slightest, 20 at the oldest, but maybe that’s just what I think.”
“Perks of being a hunter, I don’t age.” After a few minutes, they find themselves at a point where the land forms a part of the coast protected by powerful waves. In that protected area floats a galleon, clearly very old yet also perfectly preserved, with a beautiful figurehead of a bird with the face of a woman- a siren. Well, perfectly preserved if it weren’t for the fact two of the masts are snapped in half and there are numerous claw-like gashes on the ship’s hull- as if some sort of giant leviathan had tried to sink the beautiful ship. She rows up to it, and grabs a rope ladder, climbing aboard. There is no crew, it seems.
“Sorry, sorry. I always ask what names are after I introduce myself. It was instinctive, I guess.”
“Heh, I get that. Uh, what are ya doing in the woods?”
“I was curious. I haven’t been out here yet.”
“Oh, well alright! It’s fun, you Just need to be careful not to get lost.”
“I’m pretty good at not getting lost. One of my many talents.”
“Huh, well alright then! I’m… uh, not very good at that. But I’ve mostly memorized the layout of the forest.”
They whistle. “Impressive. You must have a good memory. Unlike me.”
“Well, I’ve been here a couple of months, and it isn’t perfect. But I spent a lot of time in the woods with my- uh… friends when I was younger. I still have terrible direction, though.”

“Yeah… friends. What about it?” He shifts uncomfortably.

“Hey, it’s okay to tell me. My friends aren’t exactly liked around here either.”

by some miracle, it hasn’t sunk.
He follows them up, running a hand across the side of the ship, whistling again, “This is a real beauty, makes sense for you.” He chuckles, “When do you need this repaired? Or do you not have a time limit?” He asks, looking back to them after a moment.

“Not by any specific date, no, We were attacked by a monster that was following us from the sea of monsters. I killed it, but it damaged my ship quite a bit…” she looks back to the broken masts. “This hasn’t happened since twenty-two… nineteen twenty-two, I mean…”

“I assumed you wouldn’t be referencing the future, you must be strong if you killed something that did this much damage, stronger than me. I’ll talk to whoever I can about this.”
