Neru is half sitting, half leaning on Thalia’s tree, crying softly as she reads a paper. Peleus is trying to cuddle with her, but she pushes him away, wiping her tears.

Kota rushes up to her. (Idk if they’ve interacted before.) “Are you okay?” He asks. 

 She pauses for a second to gather herself. “No, I’m not.” She takes another look at the paper and continues sobbing.

 “What happened? Maybe I can help. I have magic that can calm you down.” 

 She doesn’t respond, simply holding out the paper in her hand. “She knew she was going to die.”

 “Who?” 

 “My sister.” She won’t elaborate further, but it does seem she wants Kota to read the paper.

 He takes it and begins to read. 

 It seems to be a prophesy.

In shadows where soft whispers crow, 
A daughter of Hypnos grieves slow.
Her sister, now gone,
Like a bird in the dawn,
Leaves echoes of heartbreak below.

Through dreams that once danced in the night,
She wanders, her heart constricted tight.
With each fluttered wing,
Comes a sorrowful sting,
Forgiveness lost in fading light.

Regrets like dark feathers do fall,
As she gazes at stars, one and all.
Each twinkling bright sighs,
Of love that now dies;
In a world where no echoes enthrall.

An adventure of grief she must take,
Where memories weave and hearts break.
Yet hope's fragile song,
Calls her to grow strong
From the ashes of loss she'll awake.

 “W-woah. Where did you find this?” 

 “With a flag we hid in the forest. It was so good, not even the nymphs could find it.” Her voice quivers with that last sentence.

 “W-what is it about?” 

 It takes her a moment to respond. “She died in the Titan War. Before that she snuck out to meet the prophet. She said she got a prophesy, but didn’t tell me what it was about. And now I have wings, meaning this was about me with the bird imagery. This was her prophesy.” Her pitch black wings flex around her body, forming a shield of feathers around her as she sobs.

 “She knew you would get wings?” 

*Oh jeez, Neru would hate Kian, he fought with Kronos in the war.* 

 “She knew more than she let on.” She smiles a bit before frowning. “She was annoying like that.”

*hopefully she never learns this*
