*Crossbow builds work only if they’re hand crossbows. 1v1ing a greatwyrm is a terrible idea but you can maybe pull it off with echo knight/gloomstalker/assassin, sharpshooter/elven accuracy/piercer/crossbow expert, and hopefully with a magic item. Your nova damage there should be around 231 without crits and with only a +3 crossbow, but you can’t really get any higher than that without luck or magic items.*
*Also would like to note that while this number seems impressive, it’s a one turn nova as well as lacking any utility whatsoever, so it would lose a 1v1 with a greatwyrm unfortunately.*
*I meant hand crossbows, sorry. I usually pumped out at least 200 damage per turn. I had several magic items though, including the blood fury tattoo and others. So with a few spells and effects active, I could easily triple that damage.*
*Triple it? Haste would give you one extra attack, the classic bloodfury gives you a really good damage boost but it’s not at 600-700 damage, and I don’t think I know of any other items that can insanely boost damage (maybe dragon ascendant crossbow but thats just 1d8). Hunter’s mark adds a fair bit, but all of those combined could probably put you at the 400 mark. The highest nova damage builds you can do involve critfishing with an oathbow or doing a paladin build.*
*I've done 427 with the new version and the core books*
*2024 rules are terrible and so comically easy to break. They overtuned all of the classes to give players more damage output but didn’t fix any actual problems from the 2014 rules.*
*I actually disagree. While the classes and some other features are a mess. They fixed a bunch of broken abilities. Such as wave being able to do half a creatures max health on a crit.*

Desto approaches Correlion as they stand over Hettie, a wide smile on his face.
Correlion is at the top of their center tree, on a floating platform of glass.
He raises his hand in peace. “I see my friend has made a grave mistake here. I warned her not to do this, but she clearly did not listen. If you give me her body, I will make sure no harm comes to you, through physical strength or mental.”
The angel stands, turning to face him. “A shallow promise. Your friend here threatened that she would attempt to kill me. Handing her over to you would simply make such a statement more likely an action. How can I be certain that her and none of her allies will not simply kill me if she is returned? At least if she is dead, that is one less of them I must worry about.”

My titles are the great Silver Dragon Lord of the Sky, Second in Command of the Dragon Cult, High Warlock of Cynophobia, High Cultist of Jeff, The Lightning Mage. I’m a ✨Chronically online teenage boy✨, and one of the most active posters on the forums (MORE THAN SALEM AND GONZALO). Always open to talk if you’d like to shoot me a PM! Please don’t hesitate to tell me I’m being a jerk or overbearing, I love helpful feedback! Love y’all!
*what are some of the problems from the 2014 rules?*
*A lot of classes are frontloaded, you get a ton of features at low level and not a lot at later ones. Martials are always inadequate when compared to spellcasters because all they can do is hit things and roll skill checks (barbarian vs one ravine they cant cross). A lot of capstone features on classes suck. A lot of subclasses are undertuned. 1st and 2nd level are barely playable because you have such little HP it becomes RNG rather than skill for survival. A lot of weapons overlap eachother or are just straight up useless. Monk is terribly made. Warlock and Druid are both weak comparatively to their other caster counterparts.*

*Should we just start from here since the paralysis didn't apply? Currently, Z is 75 feet away and has landed 1 attack, with no additional effects*
Giratina flaps 15 feet into the air and 45 feet after Z. It lets loose a blast of energy, rotting the already sparse vegetation and corroding the earth itself.
Make a dex save for me, please.

The blast of ghostly energy deals 36 necrotic damage.

*Nahh, your DM isn’t evil enough. I could solo a 20th level party with some CR 13 monsters.*
