My line of thinking was that arcane blast already does a lot of damage for a ranged attack at 2 DP, the max you can get on a blades of the unholy ranged weapon attack would be 4d8 and thats with a 5 DP investment at level 6 minimum. Arcane blast has a good range and deals a damage type separate from BPS. I’m thinking that for the next update I’ll be focused more on mage and magic abilities so I’ll see how to tweak it.*
