The toad croaks. It doesn't move from its spot or focus on him at all.
With a sob, he collapses to the ground, tearing up.
The toad walks toward him for a few steps, then stops. "Did she hurt you?" It croaks.
"Woah! What?"

Evalryn walks through the town with her cloak upon her head. She stops by a building, waving her hand In front of the brickwork, and glowing red symbols are carved into the surface. It reads:
"The Teacher is waking. The Teacher provides knowledge. The Teacher provides power. Meet behind the Tavern at midnight to join the Teacher's cause."
Surrounding the inscription are strange glyphs, depicting tentacles and eyeballs. The patterns seem to shift every so often, swirling against the stone. Evalryn smiles, before continuing on her walk.
People turn to stare at the symbols... before the building begins to shake, collapsing to the ground. Alty runs over to the building and fixes it using his magic quickly, staring at the symbols.
Out of the rubble climbs a young boy, carrying a staff and book imbued with holy light. His hair is blonde, his eyes blue, his robes the color of the night sky. He glares at Alty. "I was gonna fix that!" He cries. "Oh forget it. Hey you!" He points at Evalryn.
"Hello, there!"
She waves, face still somehow obscured by her hood.
"Hey! Have you considered that you should maybe be a bit more secretive?"
"Secretive? With what? I would only e secretive if I had something to hide."
"You should have things to hide. The angels have been alerted. They sent me to show you another way."
"Oh! The Angles! How worry some. I should be oh-so-scared that a couple of pompous winged fools know what I'm doing. If the angels are all that powerful, then how come they didn't know sooner? I've been doing this for years. If they are so blind that they only notice that I'm learning from the Teacher after I start plastering posters around town, do you really think you should be following them? And besides. The Teacher created everything we know. Do you really think that it would be so powerless as to not be able to destroy some of it's creation...?"
"They only care because you're trying to recruit more people now." He turns to the crowd gathering around him. "Anyone who comes to this meeting will see the wrath of the angels, from one who has been personally gifted with the magic of the Lord!" His staff begins to glow, book pages rustling, as he floats into the air. "I needed no potion to do this! It is the magic given to me, not the magic you scum use. The cure to all Mythical problems is true! And the Lord has it! Denounce your status as a Mythical and I will cure every one of you from the ailment that plagues you so."
In the middle of his speech, people have started jeering at him and laughing. He points his staff at everyone and sighs. "I'll be back."
"Woah woah woah! First of all, FRICK you! If this so called 'Lord' of yours created us all, and hates all mythicals, and wants us dead, then why- doens't he ome down here and smite us? Well, one, he left after the Teacher banished him from this realm, and even if he was here, he would be powerless! Second of all, I'm not a witch, but I take great offense at you calling witches 'scum'! Third of all, your so called 'magic' is tainted with promises! Your magic is gifted to you! Thus, it is meaningless. Magic, simply put, is a way of exerting your will on the surrounding world. I am a Fae. I cannot give that up, even if I wanted to, and I'm also a vampire, which I also cannot just give up. Fae are born with the innate skill to expert their will uon the world. They can speak to the environment, and it can listen! If you are just given that power, you aren't actually using it! You are just borrowing tricks from someone else! But the Teacher offers a better deal! Help it make the world listen to us, and punish those who've wronged us, and you can gain the same opportunities us Fae have, and then some! The Teacher doesn't give you power, it merely offers a chance to learn! And learnt power is stronger than borrowed power, as the way you shape the world is unique. It is different. It is wild. And that is what magic is. Lastly, I have a better solution. If you 'Lord' is so high and mighty and totally-not-banished, then why does he want all mythicals to become humans? Mythicals are stronger than humans are. That is a fact. Why not make all humans mythicals? I'll tell you why. BEcause your 'Lord' is a fraud. All your 'Lord' wants is power. If we all were strong, then your 'Lord' wouldn't be powerful anymore! We could fight back. We could undermine it's supposed authority. And that is what scares your supposed 'Lord' the most. So, I will tell you this, and everyone who can hear me, listen. This person's master is a tyrant. Cruel. Evil. This 'Lord' wants conformity. This 'Lord' wants to destroy magic. Destroy nature. Destroy all that is wild, and wonderful. In the world that the 'Lord' was banished to after it rebelled against the grace of the Teacher, there eis no magic. Nature is being checked away. The Teacher has shown me that. And, if that same 'Lord' were to be brought here, if that same 'Lord' was given power, then it would do the same. The Teacher isn't like that, though. The Teacher doesn't want conformity. The Teacher wants growth. And life. And the Teacher wants everyone to be free. The Teacher wants everyone to pay for their crimes, and be offered redemption. The Teacher wants al to be equal. Join the Teacher, and this can very well happen! Fight back against this supposed 'Lord', and we won't have to end up like the other world. Join the Teacher, and we can thrive! Meet behind the Tavern at midnight, and learn!"
HEr speech evolves over time, changing from a belittlement of the boy, to a speech too the surrounding crowd.
"I'm not calling witches scum." He says smoothly. "I'm calling all Mythicals scum. You claim the Lord is powerless, but the Lord only watches our games. They seek to create the perfect world, and they only came back because of me. Because I prayed, and the Lord listened. My family has been plagued with the curse of vampirism for centuries, but the Lord CURED me. I no longer need blood! I no longer need to hurt to live! I can be myself in all my glory. After all this, I now seek to cure everyone so that we can all live as equals. And you know why he cured me? Because I am the only vampire to make myself suffer and refuse to drink blood!"
*Sorry for the wait!*
"... If one entity only watches, but does nothing to affect us, while another takes a more dynamic role, actively helping further the growth of this world, which one is stronger? Is it the incompetent fool twiddling it's thumbs, looking down on all creation, brought back by another incompetent fool? Or is it the one who works, who strives, who yearns for a better tomorrow? Yes, Vampirism is a curse. Curses are applied, so they can be taken away. But being a dragon, that is not a curse. Being a Fae, that is not a curse! If you take a mythical, who was born a mythical, and change them to human, you are changing everything about them. You are not just changing what they look like, and what they can do, you are also changing how they act, how they think, how they love, how they exist! Changing a mythical to a human is destructive, and may as well be murder! IF I was changed to a human, I would not be me. I would be a stranger. I would be different. I would not speak the same. I would not think the same. I would not see the world in the same way. Nothing about me would be similar. I would have a different name. Different preferences. I would be dead, replaced by a stranger! This 'Lord' doesn't want to change us all to humans- instead, your 'Lord' wants to massacre us all, and replace the population with humans! There is a reason we all were created. We exist to keep each other in check. Fae exist to regulate the wilds, keep the world untamed. Werewolves exist as an Apex predator, keeping the prey population low enough for a healthy ecosystem. Dragons and witches exist to restore the ambient magic in the environment. Vampires exist in order to remove deadly infections from a population! Even if we see other types of beings as evil, do you not realize that that is there for a purpose? If any one species existed on its own, without others to pressure it, or to reign it in, two things would most likely happen. A, the species would take over the world, choking the ambient magic and life out of the world. Or, maybe B, the species would grow complacent, and advancements would halt. We need each other to pressure ourselves to get stronger, and too keep each other in check! If there were only humans, the magic would slowly leak away. Nothing would check the rapid conquest of our world! Your so called 'Lord''s plan would bring about a world wide biological and magical collapse! And furthermore. Why are Mythicals scum? WE all have our purpose, as I said before. What purpose do humans bring? Do they protect the wilds, destroying threats to the ecosystem and work to make it stronger? Do they regulate the stock of animals, making sure any one population doesn't get too out of control? Do they restore the ambient magic in the world, making sure that everyone else can thrive? Do they remove infections from populations, making sure that diseases don't spread to other, less resistant species? No. They seek out more and more land, removing nature from its rightful place. They kill randomly, overhunting some species, and getting others explode in numbers. They use magic for powerful uses, but don't replenish what they've taken, instead drawing from the ambient magic around them, rather than their own sources. They spread disease and pestilence to others. So, why is it us mythicals are the scum of this earth? Why is it that we must all perish? Why is it that humans are 'superior'?"

Your so called 'Lord''s plan would bring about a world wide biological and magical collapse!"
"Well then, we have nothing left to talk about. You do not see the suffering of the Mythicals for being Mythicals or that they would be better like us, and I do not see anything your way. You fail to think of the pain here. Vampires sometimes have to resort to hurting those they love. Werewolves have to kill for no reason. Witches need to consume people to gain magic. Fae magic is as wicked as it is wild. Dragons are hated just for how they look. The Lord made a mistake, yes, but it is not irreversible."
"But, do you know why all these problems exist? Do you know why vampires have to kill the ones they love?! Because they are outdated. If all lands could provide easily accessible animal blood, or donate blood when healthy, vampires wouldn't have to kill to survive. And werewolves kill to eat. So do wolves. So does any other animal! Saying that since werewolves have to kill to eat food, they should be killed, is like saying that since wolves need to kill to eat food, they should be killed! Oh, my bad. I forgot. Most humans already think the wolf evil, for just trying to survive. Yes, witches need to consume people for their magic. But, have you ever considered how many dead just rot away in graves? Witches could instead consume the flesh of those who have passed on. And finally, Fae and dragons. Your argument is ridiculous. For the dragon, you are saying, since humans bully a species for how they look, the spiecies should be killed? Because, turning Mythicals into humans would be killing them! you would be stripping them of everything they are, their appearance, their mind, their likes, dislikes, personality, all that, and changing it to that of a humans! The fault of the discrimination of dragons is not their own. IT is the fault of humans for discriminating against them in the first place! Think of all the human minorities that are mistreated. If all of those minorities were killed because they are othered and feel sad, do you know what that would be? Genocide. Dragons are hated. That is not their fault. Don't kill all dragons, simply change the humans. And lastly, the Fae. Fae magic is not twisted. It is simply natural. Fae magic is strange to humans because they are not used to it. If humans killed all they weren't used to, the world would be empty. Do not kill the mythicals because they are not human. Do not kill the mythicals because they are hated."

The clocks run out, too late to wake up. You're locked under this nightmare's thumb. Begging you hide and run.
"Of course you can." The Queen replies softly. "But you're going to starve for a belief that means nothing."
Sage sighs, seemingly annoyed. "I can summon food in a pinch. I've foraged in forests similar to this before. If I need food, I can get it. I'm just busy with the fall festival."
"You said you were hungry. Why go hungry when you can eat? Why is the festival worth more than you?"
