A mage is in the auction center. He is tall, dressed in a white blouse, a black and red checkered vest, a long gold and black duster cloak, a pair of nice dress pants, and a beautiful pair of shiny black loafers. His face is hidden under a red veil that is connected to a pair of curling horns that spiral upwards. He walks on a cane, the silvery and black wood tapping against the floor. His gloved hands clasp a paper in hand, writing indistinguishable.
A Fae walks in behind him, clad in a dress of living plants, with flowers like Angel's Trumpet and other such blossoms, as well as the small bud-like blossoms of the Gympie-Gympie tree.
"Hello, there! Who might you be...?"
"Thorne." He tilts his head down to look down at them "I am a magus."
"Oh. That's... interesting. Why are you here...?"
"Well, originally, I came here to buy some things. I already purchased what I came for besides one thing, a human." He explained.
"Ah. You seek a human...? And you say you could not find it anywhere else...? Well, if you truly are of dire need, perhaps I could... no... no, I must not share secrets of such importance..."
"I am not plucking one off the streets. I need one from here specifically. It fits my calculations the best." He explains. "A place infused with the very essence of magic, soaked with the weave."
"... You seem... trustworthy. Perhaps... Come with me."
The Fae expects no answer, simply turns around and starts walking.
Thorne follows after, his cane tapping against the floor.
The Fae walks towards a tree, before tracing a doorway into the wood with a nail. The Fae grasps the bark of the tree and opens it, transporting the two of them into a dusty and old, yet still grand, room, lined floor to ceiling with tomes and scrolls, along with various other magical oddities.
The Fae sighs, "Ah... It's been a while since I've been here... I guess there'll be cleaning up that needs to be done... But don't mind the mess. It can't hurt you yet." The Fae walks towards a small side door.
"I don't think I can be hurt sadly, so I suppose it's no worry." He explains, huffing out a bit of laughter.
"Oh really...? Even better... Anyways."
Through the door is a hall of holding cells.
"Now. In here are all manner of beasts, magical and non-magical. The Spirits should have kept the things in stasis while I was gone, but they should be waking up now." As if one cue, a low growl reverberates across the stone bricks.
"Now, at the end of the hall, there will be a holding cell marked 'Inhabitant 777'. Open the gate. There will be a human in there. If there isn't, come back into the main hall and wait for me. I will be cleaning up, and once I am done, I shall fetch the human from Deep Storage."
Thorne lifts his veil from his face, revealing a canine-esque skull with hollow empty eye sockets that are evoid except for tiny pinpricks of red light. "Perfect. This place is saturated with the weave."
"Why yes it is... Now, run along. Go and find that human."
"Forgive me if I don't trust you, please bring them to me." He said, the vane disappearing as he folded his hands in front of himself.
"Bah. Fine. Come with me."
The Fae walks forwards, footsteps echoing across the stone walls. The Fae's skin glows slightly, staving off the darkness of the hallway.
Thorne follows after, waving a hand as a beautiful glowing white butterfly's forms, giving off soft light.
"Alright. Be careful not to make too much noise. Some of the inhabitants of these cages are quite sensitive to noise, and although I am pretty sure that the cage bars will hold, I cannot guarantee it, and I would rather not have to fish someone out of a stomach again."

"I believe that's sympathy, feeling another being's emotions. Empathy, whether correct or not, is used to mean 'the aspect of an intelligent being that allows it to truly express and feel kindness' in this specific case." He finishes a bowl of noodles. "A lack of empathy is eating a banquet in front of a starving child. It's treating a person like an animal, like a sub-person creature."
"Hm, I saw it more as liberating a confined creature." They explain
"They shouldn't be confined in the first place. On sale..." He wrinkles his pink little nose. "...It disgusts me. I doubt any of these archfey would tolerate it if they were trapped like that."
"Sadly, you are correct on both fronts." He explained, chuckling. "I require a human, preferably of child age. I plain on testing a theory on it, allowing it to grow and harness the weave on its own."

"what would that be?" the group of ravens forming their head flutters off their shoulders, hovering on your shoulder
"A human. You see, humans are quite powerful. I have a theory that I might be able to bend the weave itself and allow a plain human to harness magic."
they laugh. its unpleasant, hearing so many ravens try and mimic human laughter. so many different, discordant tones, from deep belly laughs to childlike giggles "a human? using magic? perposterous! prey tell, how will you manage that?"
*not a typo, that's on puropose*
"Quite easy. A guiding hand, allow them to soak up the residual magic from around them and then learn to expell it." He explains, waving a hand, a load of paperwork appearing in hand "My research has been extensive."
"fascinating. we... may be able to procure one for you. in exchange for something..."
"And what would that be?" They tilt their head "No blood, no bone, no soul. I don't make deals unless I look over the contract itself."
"no, no, none of that! you need permits for that!" they chuckle, or at least attempt to. "we want something you will regret giving us"
A light huff of laughter comes from the skull "Ah, a fey deal.."
"what did you expect?" they gesture at themselves
"Capitalism." He shrugged "A regret hm? And what would that be?"
"depends on the person. just something you would regret giving to us. the more you regret it, the more valuable it its. to us, that is"
"I feel I cannot give you anything. I rarely care for things around me I suppose... Everything can be replaced and I don't think my life counts sadly."
"we also accept memories and sensations you would regret giving us"
He thinks for a moment, the tiny pinpricks of light disappearing as if he closed his eyes. "The memory of my mentor. Lady Rashad, the one who taught me how to feel emotions and such." He offers "I ate her alive. I regret it, I regret giving into my hunger. But I would never not live without that memory, it reminds me to become better."
"we'll take it!"
He nods and physically plucks the memory from his mind, tilting his head "There."
one of the ravens takes it in its talons, forming it into a glowing egg. that raven then flies off. "we attempt to procure a human for you. a pleasure doing business with you" several ravens fly away, spreading out over the area, and farther
Throne huffs "Fey.. always so.. childish." He grumbles to himself.
"hey! we'll get it done with no fuss or muss. is a kid good?"

"Alright. Be careful not to make too much noise. Some of the inhabitants of these cages are quite sensitive to noise, and although I am pretty sure that the cage bars will hold, I cannot guarantee it, and I would rather not have to fish someone out of a stomach again."
Hello! This is the Alt account of Gonzalo2, which I made because I want more than six characters without having to pay for it.
"Sadly, you are correct on both fronts." He explained, chuckling. "I require a human, preferably of child age. I plain on testing a theory on it, allowing it to grow and harness the weave on its own."
"I am the white deer, I am the flowers blooming in the moonlight, I am the blue moon, I am the Feywild."

Thorne chuckles and allows the butterfly to hover around him "Need not worry, I have ways of protecting."

"Good. Now. Once you reach the holding cell for Inhabitant 777, be careful. I am not sure how sound of mind the human is, but if it is too damaged, I can fetch another one from Deep Storage. But, make sure not to disrupt the human's mind too much, in the off chance it is conscious and can understand you."

"Couldn't you get a volunteer from the human world? So many children would love to use magic, especially ones from broken homes. I should know." He takes a sip of his drink. "You smoke? I don't."

"No. I need one who is deeply saturated by the weave. I found this place and my calculations say that this area is absolutely soaked with it."

"And... Here we are! In you go, into the cell. The human should be waiting in there!"
The Fae holds open the gate, and ushers Thorne inside.

Thorne sighs and rubs the bridge of the boney skull "I can now see where this is leading..." The two sides of the skull split in two, one side breaking off and turning into a dog-luke creature with the same head "I expected better."

The Fae looks puzzled.
"Whatever do you mean? ... Oh! You think this is a trap! Hah. It's nice to see how low you think of me. I cannot break my word. The human is in there. If the human nis not in ideal condition, I will retrieve another fro you from Deep Storage. I told you this already. I will come into the cell with you, if that would ease your worries."
