You have 3 luck points. Whenever you make an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can spend one luck point to roll an additional d20. You can choose to spend one of your luck points after you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw.
You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20 and then choose whether the attack uses the attacker's roll or yours.
In this case, it wouldn't be used before an attack, but after the attack roll, possibly before damage if that's how you want to play it. However, this wouldn't change anything according to the rules it would just make combat highly inneficiant. Another alternative is to just assume the other party (If they say they have the feat) will always reroll crits.

Unfortunately for you I have this ability, it's not usually too helpful and I wanted to save it for later but I dont want to succumb to an instakill ;P: If you fail an Intelligence, a Wisdom, or a Charisma saving throw, you can cause yourself to succeed instead. Once you use this benefit, you can't use it again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
