Alrrrr is there any like basic things you want for the world/setting
Fantasy, mostly. Anything you’re currently into?
Uhhh nine sols but that’s quite futuristic, and I read animal farm, I suppose something related to mythology
Mythology works! Also since your pfp is a Genshin pfp I assume you’re into that? I’ve sorta been inspired by Genshin worldbuilding lately.
Yhhh that works
Okokok so I'm already doing some Sumeru based worldbuilding but that's kinda a sekret. I may start drawing ten million things. What nation do you like best? Kinda a tie between all the ones I've done so far (just finished sumeru) for me. Ack I'm rambling. But we could do like... character based worldbuilding.

Okay uhmmmmmm

makes me think of demigods n stuff
we could start with a pantheon? Or rival pantheons?
Thinking two pantheons, one genocided the other and they’re hunting down the descendants of that pantheon. Or maybe more pantheons. Pantheons might control nations, each one controlling a city, and then uhhhhhh so the genocided pantheon had their whole nation wiped out.

I think there could be a few options here. The pantheons overlap, so a deity in one pantheon might have the same domain as a deity in another pantheon. Or it could be categorized, so like you said pantheons for different stuff. If we did categorize, I’d like to do a sky/night sky theme.

Imma make a Pinterest board because that’s the vibes I’m feeling, but while I’m at that, I think there should probably be some races, like mostly humans and the occasional god descendant/demigod. Or the people of each pantheon are imbued with some of their magic. So if I were to do a night sky theme I think like really dark black skin, white hair, small specks of light that form constellations/tattoos on their body, wearing like robes would work.

Ooh, this makes me think about a world I did
I gtg kinda soon, remind me to post this later, but basically the world had two magic systems that revolved around art/expression and elements (as in fire, water, air n stuff). The wielders kinda didn’t like each other, and you could really only have one.

Depends on what sort of system it is.
If you had two coexisting systems, like a system based off utilizing divine power and a system based off factual truth and an object's natural state (roots in mathematics and physics), for example, there'd definitely be some conflict between the two's beliefs. It would be interesting to see if some collaborate, too, though, wielding their powers in tandem to achieve some cooler stuff.
Depends on the world itself, how the practitioners of these systems interact.

Could you explain as I’m trying to add an magic system to my world
I mean DnD is kinda a magic system in its own right, but if you want a unique world you can always flavor it. If your magic system isn’t DnD, think about where Magic comes from, who can use it, and what the limits of it are.
How would you all manage coexisting magic systems?
Depends on what sort of system it is.
If you had two coexisting systems, like a system based off utilizing divine power and a system based off factual truth and an object's natural state (roots in mathematics and physics), for example, there'd definitely be some conflict between the two's beliefs. It would be interesting to see if some collaborate, too, though, wielding their powers in tandem to achieve some cooler stuff.

So the primary magic system is based off soul. Basically everything has a soul. Think a mix between Shintoism and Animism. Objects, plants and places have dormant souls, meaning they lack autonomy. Animals, including man, have awakened souls, meaning they do have autonomy and will. Both of these can become Risen Souls based on worship or, in the case of a City Deity, a large group of awakened souls in an area. Finally, there are Divine Souls, which are basically the higher deities that exist outside of worship.
Most of the time people don’t know about them. These include Frella, The Twin Flames, and Atrophy as the universal constants, Faldex as the sol deity, Mushisama as the world’s life deity, and the Elder Shrub as the ‘Father of Leaves’. There are more, for the other stars and planets in the universe, but they aren’t important to the story.
There are multiple ways to use soul, split into separate categories. There is Soul Manipulation, Soul Projection, Skytear crystals, Soul Rebirth, and Soul Perception.
Soul manipulation is taking control of dormant souls. In the case of Valiance, she basically has superior telekinesis and telepathy, lifting the soul of objects. Cerberus manipulates the soul in plants and can ‘understand’ animals, though that is more of a gift from his god father.
Soul projection is using one’s own soul to generate or shift reality. Koneko can create elements when she’s fighting while Sylvan can take the form of a Moon Wolf.
There are these crystals called Skytear Crystals that come from space that is used for soul, though its use is a mix between manipulation and projection. Basically it’s filled with awakened turned dormant souls that generate power when someone projects their soul into it to power automata.
Soul Rebirth is much more limited in usage. Only the Twin Flames can use it. Put simply, you decide where a soul goes upon death. The Twin Flames basically decide if you should be a ‘Returned’, like Agatha is, and if not, what afterlife you should go to. There are some other beings who use Soul Rebirth, such as the Three Dragons.
Soul Perception is basically just a second sight where you see the souls instead of the material. Nothing too special beyond giving the blind some sight.
My issue is I also want to introduce vampires, and in turn, an ability I dub Bloodletting, which is basically pulling your own blood from fresh wounds to form constructs. My current idea is some kind of soul corruption, but the bloodletting is getting me. It isn’t projection because you aren’t making new blood and it isn’t manipulation because the blood is part of you, and you have an awakened soul.
