... but following the example of someone on Youtube (Thank you, Andy!) - I made a whole party (only my main character has Strider stats, the other members of the company have normal stats) - and this made it way better for me! I struggled when it was just a solo character. Having other characters to bounce off of made it infinitely better.

I ended up doing something similar. My first attempt at Strider mode (solo character), I couldn't get into it.
Then I saw a guy named Andy Norton did it on Youtube with a party of three.
And I found that more compelling because it gave me different personalities to bounce off of. So that's what the above is.
I'd never heard of solo TTRPG until The One Ring.
