I’m writing a story and really want one of my characters to have a very unique breath weapon one waiter rarely amongst dragons and one never seen amongst dragon born.
Currently Dragonborn can officially have a breath weapon of either fire, acid, lightning, poison or cold.
Dragons in 5e can also breath sleep gas, repulsion energy, weakening gas, slow gas, or paralyzing breath. Most of those are for ancient dragons, so if you wanted to stay somewhat in cannon you could pick one of the non-elemental breath weapons and it would still be super rare!
