I know, I know...it's now labeled as bad and the company (Plus CVS, France, and Canada) took it off shelves around the world. But I can't be the only one who misses Zantac. It's been three weeks since I ate my last one. If I would have known, I would have saved it for a few days later when I had Chinese food. Instead, I wasted it on a Sunday getting some red sauce on my ravioli.
It was to me, a miracle drug. Nothing I have taken before it was introduced to me nor after this recall has helped. I have to look at my diet completely different now. The spices I use and love, to the simple things like is this too greasy for me to eat.
What are we to do in this post-Zantac world? I'm 36 years old and Type II diabetic, I changed my diet last year and became so much more healthy. All the things that won't give me heartburn I can't really eat. Peanut butter for crying out loud gives me heartburn now. And that's one of my safe super low sugar snack foods. I'm just venting... I am sad by it, as Thanksgiving rears its bountiful table towards me I am not as excited as I used to be. Now, I am not looking forward to eating just turkey...because I can't risk eating the way I would like. It will hurt too much.
I hope everyone who reads this and is suffering knows that there's a lot of us out here that are suffering too. I have spoken with many friends and family members who are just as devastated by this recall. Oh, this sucks :(
That's why I am starting this thread.

If you are suffering or have found something to supplant the loss of Zantac, please share it with us. Other than overdosing on Tums or going on eBay and spending $80 for a package of Zantac. (I have seriously thought about it, like seriously!) I have found that Pepcid will cure some of the symptoms, but not give the relief that Zantac would give. I still feel bloated and pressure in my stomach. The burning it does stop, but I still feel a little sick.
For home remedies, I have found nothing that helps. Other than drinking water and burping lol which is kind of gross to do out in public and people tend to stare when you are belching like Homer Simpson at a Mexican buffet. You could say it's frowned upon.
So anything would be helpful, and I hope your heart burns less this holiday season.

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Thanks, I don't think Prilosec works for me. But also I can't even remember taking it. So, I know what I am buying on my lunch break today. Thanks! Wish me luck lol

My wife takes omeprazole. It is available OTC.

Why I always read backwards all those names that seems strange for me ?????
Zantac ---> Catnaz ?????? WTF !!
Omeprazole ----> 'Elo Zar Pemo ????? = Hello Tzar Pemo ??? LOL.
P.D. I prefer Prozac..... or else a better diuretic/intestinal pill for those pee&poo rare diseases/illnesses
