Welcome to Champions of Sedge Tavern! Here followers of Sedge and Knights of Ni and anyone else willing to leave their wars and arguments behind are welcome to come and recline at the tables and share a drink and also take turns sharing stories of encounters and tales of mystery. Or just speak of your travels across Middle Earth.
Basically, this is just a place where you can share about your D&D encounters and campaigns. Describe your character (keep things appropriate and any race is permitted, home brewed or not) and come in and spin a tale. This isn’t an actual game of D&D, so no DM.
Example: The tavern door opens to reveal a tall fit looking Khajiit whose fur is as white as a fresh powder snow on the mountains, he is wearing the attire of a humble traveling merchant. He looks around and asks for some ale with juniper berries in it and sat by the fire which is on the left side of the spacious tavern. The barkeeper said,”On the house, Do’Taba, just spin me a tale.” The Do’Taba replied,”Very well then, come and sit with me and I shall spin you a tale like never before, for I have traveled far and have heard and seen so much.”
Hello fellow khajiit, pass me some mead and perhaps some skooma.
Hello my brother! Welcome!
Hey, Malwyn! (The barkeeper) Grab this man a pint of mead! *then whispers something in her ear when she comes with the pint of mead*
Malwyn: With pleasure! I’ve got some of the finest mead in the province, make it myself. *she then goes upstairs and comes back down with a few crystals and a pipe in hand* I trust you know what to do. But be quiet about it, if people hear that I have some skooma left over they’ll be runnning from half way across the province!
"The finest skooma, the sweetest moon sugar. At a fair price, of course."
Malwyn: Yes, what do you think will be a fair price in this case. Do’Taba says he knows you from somewhere so I’m willing to give a discount.
A girl about 5’4” walks in. She has long wavy silver hair down to the middle of her back, very fair skin and grey eyes. She wears a grey cloak, a green tunic and brown leather boots. She has a backpack and a belt pouch, probably for her spell components. She sits down at the bar, smiles at the bar lady and says “Hi, I’m Lyra. Should I have ale with juniper berries or vodka and grapefruit juice?”
Malwyn: I can get you all three if you want, Ms. Lyra, but let’s start with that ale with juniper berries since I already have it out. Where are you from? *she asked while she was pouring*
The Tears of Selune, near Faerun
She smiles, takes a sip of her drink and places a gold coin from Waterdeep on the bar.
Malwyn takes the coin and replies: Like to travel far, yes?
I wander with the stars.
Malwyn answers: Where have they taken you, Miss?

And when he finished the epic tale, Malwyn exclaimed: Young sir, you’ll be having me running for for my storerooms with those amazing tales...i don’t know what to say...that was spectacular! *she said with pure delight on her face* It makes me feel as if I was there, you are gifted, Indigo, with the art of storytelling. *then she laughs and says* Well now! Indigo take another drink of his wine “however as the city celebrated the hobgoblins schemed for as day broke it was soon discovered that a gate was left open the defender rushed to stop the charge however it was lead by a red dragon” the scene changes to an open gate with hobgoblins charging in with a dragon on top, the party was able to make short work of the hobgoblins but the dragon would be more trouble” the hobgoblins proceed to get fireballed out of existence “and so the knight make a desperate play” on the table dave say something to the drow and then changes the dragon as the drow runs for the gate lever “he fought bravely and managed to push the dragon back long enough for the gate to close upon it from there the dragon was unable to free it’s self as the party waled on it”
”and so with their attacks failed their commanders dead and their strongest ally defeated the hobgoblins ran”
Malwyn once again couldn’t stop listening, captivated by Indigo’s storytelling. I guess that’s another pint, you sure you’ll make it out of here at the rate you’re going? Is that another Elvish wine or do you want something else for your next drink?
“Nothing for now miss, story telling is can be it’s own reward”
Many grand and glorious adventures. Death, romance and even a handful of politics.
“I must say that I am curious, do you have any favorites you would like to say for us”
“It happened about three years ago I was sailing down south when we saw it” as he speaks he casts a spell and the table cloth turns in to a stormy sea with a ship sailing “if I didn’t know any better I would say that one of the crew had wronged a sea god but as the crew tried there hardest we wouldn’t have survived an hour, but then a lookout cried out Maelstrom on port” indigo spins his hands a bit and a Whirlpool appears near the ship “the captain tried as best he could but we were too close and we went in” the ship falls in the the Whirlpool
“now we didn’t know it at the time but that whirlpool was probably the best thing to happen at that time as after realizing we were not dead we looked around, the ship was in terrible shape but the storm had ended, as we looked around we saw nothing but the open Ocean” the illusion over the table ends “we sailed for a year or it felt like it the captain had everyone take a turn at the pumps and I can still feel the soreness even to this day” he stops to take a drink of his ale “after a wile we saw the island now if I know what I know now I would have never gotten close to it but at the time it looked like an oasis in a salty desert, as we approached the island” he make the image of a ship again “we heard a noise a Beautiful noise like music to your soul out of the corner of my eye I saw some crew jump off the ship to swim to it however I got lucky the ship hit a reef which knocked me out of my trance which was a good thing as the Sahuagin were already climbing the ship” the illusionary ship splits in half and half shark creature climb on to it “the fighting was fierce but I got knocked out with in the first minute” the ship breaks in half and sinks into the table
”when I awoke I was chained to a rock with three other crew they gave us sharp rocks and we were lead into a large pool with small rocks sticking out it was deep about 10 feet or so they had a cliff near by that they were using to watch us” where the ship sank the table turns into water with small spears of rock jutting out it had small people clinging on to them “we saw there was about 10 other in there clinging to rocks and then a horn blew they had some kind of speech in there language then one of them turned to us and said survive, then 2 of them pulled up a gate that I hadn’t seen and I saw fins swim through I don’t remember how many but when it ended 2 of us were left” sharks enter the small pool of water and eat the people until there are too left “I don’t remember what happened to the other one but I was made a slave and forces to play the flute for them in the after party, lucky for me they were hosting a Marid who traded something for me he offered me a deal” the rocks disappear and the water vanishes “if I play the flute for a year he would give me a wish and I wished that I had never taken that ship and I awoke on a ship called the Tempest”
Malwyn watched the tale unfold...almost as if hypnotized by its telling. And when it was over she had a look of wonder and for a small moment there was sadness in her eyes,” I can’t imagine what you’ve been through, but that was...AMAZING!!! You deserve a drink on the house! *after calming down a little she asked,”Tell me, what would you like? An ale perhaps? I have Blackpeak Ale, Cauim, Cheerful Delver Stout, to name but a few among my ales. Or maybe you’re a wine person? I have Galtan wine, Elvish wine, Stone Giant wine, among the many in my stores. Please, whatever you might have in your mind...tell me what drink you’d want perhaps I’ll have in my stores? I might not travel much, but I have many sources for my ingredients and supplies of exotic drinks.

A Goliath walks in with no shirt on and leather pants
“can I get a good, strong pint of ale? The strongest you’ve got!”
“Come on over and have a seat” a man in a heavy cloak responded. I would love to tell you one, but later, after I review my spells and I’m in a storytelling mood. Stories are best told at night when the sky is dark and the stars are bright.
Her True Love was the cutest thing/In all the countryside/And after Lyra courted him/He took her for his bride...
“My father was murdered by a 6 fingered man. My father had crafted him an incredible sword and when my father gave it to him, he slaughtered my father and left. When I see him next, I will say to him: Hello. My name is Graluta Mantarco. You killed my father. Prepare to die”

Malwyn looked at him with a serious face and said: I have no doubt that you will avenge your father. But this is a story in the making, however I will still get you that ale for free if you tell me of your journey here, I haven’t seen a giant in years! *she quickly ran to get some Elminster’s Choice Ale, which she had made herself, and poured the giant a pint*
*seriously, dude, I was dying when I saw The Prince’s Bride reference! LOL! Great book and amazing movie!*

I guess that’s another pint, you sure you’ll make it out of here at the rate you’re going? Is that another Elvish wine or do you want something else for your next drink?
“Nothing for now miss, story telling is can be it’s own reward”
Many grand and glorious adventures. Death, romance and even a handful of politics.
“I must say that I am curious, do you have any favorites you would like to say for us”
I would love to tell you one, but later, after I review my spells and I’m in a storytelling mood. Stories are best told at night when the sky is dark and the stars are bright.
Her True Love was the cutest thing/In all the countryside/And after Lyra courted him/He took her for his bride...
Sorry, just being silly 😊. I’ll tell you later.
Malwyn answered with a smile: It’s okay, Miss Lyra, take your time, just let me know when you’re ready to spin a tale.

"Perhaps i will have another ale... ALE FOR EVERYBODY ON ME!!!" I flip the barkeep a platinum piece, "I am the Supreme Wizard of the Cult of Sedge" I say in a low, quiet voice "but i'd like to keep it on the low key, but my reputation may precede me."
I grin mischeviously, and cast reverse gravity on my cup, so that it sitcks to the ceiling, the liquid in it also floating in the top.

The door to the Tavern abruptly gets smashed down and it comes flying to the ground, a 7 ft high Half-Orc walks in and laughs at Malwyn, he turns around to look at the door he just knocked down and says "Oops, you better fix that". He stumbles over towards the Supreme Wizard, puts his arm around him and says to the barkeep very slurred "Let me buy my friend here a drink." He throws a copper piece at Malwyn and says "And make it quick".

“Have you heard of the devils chance and the siege of rollendell, it is a tail I heard in the halls of the Marid, the devils chance were a group of adventurers with little renown, it was rumored that they slayed a dragon and saved a town but for what ever reason they went to the city of rollendell I was a good thing too as an army of hobgoblins we starting to lay siege to it, if the story is to be believed they were the last in before the gate shut” indgo waves his hand and a image of a of 6 figures appears, a Knight with a glowing sword, a Dragonborn dressed a dark robe, a half elf holding a rapier, a second Dragonborn hiding slightly with daggers in hand and a drow with a staff “they’re name were Dave a veteran from many wars, Dan the Dragonborn in search of power, kethra the ranger, gabby an inconsistent ally and valance a banshed noble” he takes a drink from his glass “now they were assigned to defend a part of the wall because the defender were short on men”
