I am a professional oboist, so when I made my first online nickname many many many years ago (ahhh the old BBS days) I went with OboeCrazy to show my love of my chosen instrument. I changed it to remove the "crazy" part, as I want to be better about using negative mental health language.
I also grew up in a time when you would NEVER tell ANYONE your real name on the internet. While online security and privacy are still real concerns, it's now much more normal to use your real name as your handle. So changing it to LaurenOboe/OboeLauren helped removed some confusion in many of the places I hang out online.
Awesome 😊. Thanks for answering. I still don’t use my real name, so things haven’t changed that much lol.
It's very smart to be cautious online with your real information, like your name. However the culture has certainly shifted. Back in the 80 when I was logging onto BBS sites and everything was dialup, and for many years since, the idea of sharing your real name or actually meeting people in real life you met on the internet was absolutely unheard of. Nowadays, especially with places like Facebook/Linkedin, it's more often to have a real name attached.
But I also feel like my job as Community Manager makes it more important to have my name out there in Social Media. That's a very specific thing to ME and my job, so I do always appreciate those who are more careful.
Oh okay, Well to keep in line with the rules I chose Daryll_Greycastle because I mixed the first and last name of my first, and my favorite dnd characters I made
Well, I have very Celtic Ancestry and am quite proud of it. I also have very green eyes. lol
I have a another Screen name that I use frequently. If I'm CelticGreenEyes, I'm KokoruKumo, which came about in my very into everything Japanese days as a teen. I would go by Kumo, which is Japanese for Cloud, my favorite Final Fantasy character growing up. The Kokoro, is Japanese for heart. I chose that because I'm very much an empath and have a rather big heart. While not as heavily influenced by Japanese culture as I once was, I still use this SN pretty frequently.

I got to my screen name when I was an against 13 year old. ghost stalker because I thought it would be cool. ghost stalker stalker of ghosts, or hunter of the unseen and uncatchable.
Yeup! I still love that avatar, but my new one is pretty epic and includes a Phoenix AND a dragon :D

Mine is a play on my own name mixed with a reference from 'Only fools & horses'.
I'm English but I like the fact it comes across as French'ish, similarly to an english place name (Ashby De La Zouche).
Also an early attempt at gap moe.

Thanks! Like I said in the beginning, Penelope literally means “Weaver” in Greek. What color is the Destiny Spinner card?
