Gods are those beings in the planes that have achieved divinity. Countless lesser gods have risen and fallen, as mortals rose to claim power. While gods do not need worship to maintain divinity, it does increase their power and influence. As such most gods embrace it.
The Greater Gods
The greater gods were not risen from mortals, but were born from Etherea itself. They are 24 beings who can never be killed as they were born before Death itself was born. The 24th of these gods was Eviscua the Dark Horse. With Eviscua’s birth, death was created and as such all beings born after him are killable.
The Old Faith
The Old Faith is the worship not of gods, but of the universe itself. The very thing even the greater gods are born from. Some claim that the Old Faith will sometimes make a manifestation to let its will known to followers. But overall, the Old Faith is neutral in all matters, only stepping in to prevent total collapse.
The Lesser Gods
The lesser gods are those that were born after Eviscua, and as such most of them are uprisen from mortals. Some are still born from Etherea, but unlike the greater gods, they are killable. The Astral Sea is littered with the husks of lesser gods who were destroyed.
Fascinating! Can Eviscua be killed?

Nope, Eviscua is the last being to be completely immortal as he brought death out behind him. He himself remains unaffected by it.
The gancanaghs are no better than the fey, you know? They give me the creeps with their pure black eyes and shadowless approach. And I'm a Vampire!
— Count Alexander of Dragoncrypt
The gancanaghs are a community of former fey that long ago moved into the Shadowfell. They've adapted to the new environment by taking the light out of their eyes and spreading it along their bodies, so that the shadows can't approach them. Or so it is said. Nobody knows why the gancanaghs fled the Feywild so long ago, but they've found the courage to spread to other realms. Small communities have formed in Neth, Limbo, Materia and the Elemental Chaos.
A Male Race
Every gancanagh is born as a biological male. As such they can not reproduce among themselves. When a gancanagh reaches maturity, they're send out on a pilgrimage to find a mate among the other races. If their quest is successful, the resulting child will take the appearance of the mother's race. A female child will be like any other normal member of their race, but a son will always become another gancanagh. Most gancanagh will leave their mate after having a son and take said son back to the community to be raised there. Though some have been known to remain with their mate until the mate's death. A gancanagh may perform this pilgrimage any number of times they want, but must do so at least once to replace himself in the community.
A Deceptive Appearance
Gancanaghs can take the appearance of their mother race, being almost indistinguishable from this race except for two quirks. Under bright light their eyes will turn a deep black and no shadows will be formed from their body. Anyone that has met a gancanagh will agree that he is very beautiful.
Gancanagh Names
A lot of gancanagh take on a name fitting of their mothers race. For example, a gancanagh with a dwarvish mother might call themselves Urdrum Ironbeard, while a gancanagh of elven decent will take on a name like Lermin Galanodel, and a Goblin descended gancanagh might call themselves Ert.

I really like the Gancanagh. Kinda like the Demon/Fey Lover archetype from Appalachian folklore. Do they have a favored class?

They're quite versatile, but with the focus on deception tactics in lore, Rogue or Warlock might be good for them :D
