Once there was a sprawling empire of Latsia which was the greatest power in Alvenheim. But as time pressed on, Monstrosities from the Eastern Desert started to weaken the Empire. When a portal to Inferno opened in the deep south, Latsia was unprepared and the empire was crushed by the fiends until the survivors managed to open a portal to Heaven at Fool’s Peak. The Celestial Brigade came down and led the defense of Materia bringing with them the anvilwrought and warforged constructs to aid them. The Celestial Brigade also has a mercenary army from which many veterans emerge. Now pushing back the demon hordes, new dangers raise their heads. Mind Flayers have come into the Underdark, Gnolls are invading the imperial basin, the ancient lords of the Undead are returning and for the first time in a hundred years, the sea once again holds kraken.

Awesome. Kraken are one of my favorite monsters. Mind flayers and gnolls are pretty cool too.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).

Yush, Hold on, lemme show you my Mind Flayer BBEG of the setting.
This is Zeverrex. Their elder brain was in a bad spot and desperate to create powerful servants. They managed to take a powerful tiefling girl that was the granddaughter of the archdevil Mephistopheles and infected her. Zeverrex is the result. The tiefling became a ulitharid, but the tieflings inherit magic and influence infected the tadpole in turn, giving Zeverrex an unending craving to find the limits of the weave. Zeverrex is now an Ulitharid Arcanist. A dangerous heretic to all sides.

Zeverrex and Suldivult
Zeverrex is the only Ulitharid Arcanist in the known planes. Arcanism is already a rare pursuit among the mind flayers, and usually taken by those of lower ranks in an effort to gain authority. An ulitharid who is already at the top of its colony usually sees no use for traditional magic. Zeverrex’ creation was rushed though, as the elder brain had suffered heavy losses. It needed a strong right hand and forced an ulitharid to be born in an unsuitable vessel. This caused the lingering bardic magic to influence Zeverrex which slowly pushed them towards Arcanism. Suldivult was an old Alhoon who had lost their circle when Zeverrex found them. Zeverrex spared the heretic and started to learn from them. Zeverrex managed to convince two other mind flayers of the colony to join themself and Suldivult in the pursuit of ultimate magic. Now too powerful for the Elder Brain’s remaining minions to confront, the elder brain and Zeverrex are in a stalemate. Both of them seek to break this stalemate with new pawns. In the end, while the Elder Brain attached themself to a dragon, Zeverrex’ alliance with the champions of Nightfall City proved victorious.
Anybody got any homebrew gods that they want me to use for my own ttrpg?
If you want, you could use my Version of a creator deity based off of Babylonian mythology.
Tiamat, Harbinger of life
Tiamat is the first. Before everything else, before time, space or the planes, there was Tiamat. She created the first thing. It was known as the Primordial sea, an endless pool of water in which The Next God was born. She had children with that god. Her Children were the first monsters, creatures of godlike power that each got their own piece of the Primordial sea. These children include Charybdis and Scylla, the twin monsters of the deep, Cerberus, the sentinel of the afterlife, and Ratatoskr, the sly messenger. Charybdis and Scylla did not change anything about their Domain, except that they added a sea floor. Ratatoskr Planted Yggdrasil on the first patch of land that he created, thus forming the planes, and Cerberus made the land out of Volcanoes summoned from the primordial sea. Together, they formed the first things needed for the cosmos to begin. Then, The New gods came. These gods imprisoned Scylla and charybdis, banished Cerberus to the lower plains, and used Ratatoskr as a messenger. Together, they defeated Tiamat and sent her to sleep in a pocket of water under the Earth, only accessible by geysers to small for Tiamat to fit through. She occasionally stirs, causing the geysers to belch forth monsters from the pool Tiamat lay trapped in. Recently, she has become aware that there are now mortals in her realm. She will show them, as well as the new gods, what true power is. Currently, she is spending all of her divine power to free one of her children, to set off a chain reaction in which they are all freed, along with Tiamat herself.
if you include This Version of Tiamat, i imagined her as an enormous Dragon, probably about 1500 feet long And 300 feet tall. She is also the Goddess of the Oceans, specifically salt water. Hope this inspires you!
Isn’t io the most powerful, they died and the two halves of his personality became bahumat and Tiamat.
In official D&D lore, I believe so. But this Tiamat isn’t official, its based off of Babylonian mythology with some other stuff mixed in, for example, Ratatoskr is the Norse messenger between the eagle and nidhogg that live on Yggdrasil. Tiamat was originally from Babylonian mythology as the creator deity.
