Imlar's Registerof Guilds, Sects and Secret Societiesis a supplement for players and DMs alike, who would like to spend some time in their 5E adventures building new skills, their network and occasionally going on mini adventures, especially with the Society for the Re-integration of Zombies into Society. (Imlar's note: you have to be crazy to join that one; at least they pay YOU to be in it and not the other way around.)
The guide will have no less than 36 pages of text and black and white original illustrations by Co-Author Dave (he's the one who has made the sketches on this page). We expect one illustration per club mentioned and about that many spot illustrations too.
DMs and players alike can use the guide to create plot hooks, give the characters extra buffs, find new activities during downtime and extra resources to complete an adventure.
The zine itself will be a simple affair, mostly black and white with simple formatting, harkening back to the days when these were made with typewriters and tape. Please check it out and support us if you like our project!
Hello, we just posted an update on the Kickstarter page with a draft look at our first guild, the Polearm Guild. For more detail on the Polearm Guild head over and check out the campaign at Imlar's Register of Guilds, Sects and Secret Societies. Here's an excerpt:
There was a time when the gods smiled favorably on the users of the simple Polearm. Essentially a long stick with a sharp metal thingy on the end, there’s seems to be not much to it. But don’t be deceived; the polearm is a complex weapon, useful for confronting large monsters and mounted opponents alike. In the hands of a skilled user, a nominally educated swordsman doesn’t stand a change. But it’s that mastery of the polearm that eludes many and can be especially hard to find in fighting schools. Few can teach polearm fighting and fewer still know the ins and outs of the many different forms of the weapon.
When one encounters a chapter of the Polearm guild, you should consider yourself lucky. The Polearm Guild consists of some of the greatest polearm fighters ever assembled and continues to practice and advance the art of combat with this tricky, and misunderstood weapon.
After spending 6 weeks in this society, and spending the membership fee of 500GP, you attain the feat of Polearm Master. This requires payment of 100gp in monthly dues and a refresher stint at the Society Hall every 6 months. Occasional quests for the society may be required (“Mandatory Outings”).
Society members fighting together can create formidable synergy, creating greater capabilities and causing trouble for their adversaries. When two polearm society members attack the same foe they receive “advantage” and if ever back to back in combat their opponents have “disadvantage.”
