The cleric spent their Turn Undeads on the first wave of zombies.
11/11. Level 8 wizard average HP = 30.5 + (CON Modifier x 8), which ends up being AT MAX 70.5 HP. Average damage for 20d6? 70. If the wizard's Constitution is less than 20, they're going to be knocked out. And if it's under 12, the wizard has a decent chance of instant death.
The two rangers of the party were flanking an orc war chief. Then they both missed the war chief with their +2 bows and hit each other.
The wizard from earlier actually survived on like, 3 hp. Other players healed them afterwards
5/11 oof, but with +2 bows there is a good chance they can still win unless either the orc has a large army or they are like the ranger in my group with damage per round an hit points at nearly the same number.
We finish off an artificer npc boss with cheating weapons that can down our most fragile player in a single round and hurt even the tank for more than half hp, then they come back to life with full hp.

Royalty among the charge kingdom. All will fall before our glorious assault!
Ranger, whose only weapon is a +3 longbow and Arrows of Giant Slaying, was doing really well fighting off the hill giant horde single-handedly. Then he ran out of arrows.
Party fights a large creature, and an int 6 warforged barbarian being played like 4 int is calling it a “puppy” and trying to hug its tail. The creature looks nothing like a dog.

The party somehow survived the tree, because the dm made it take a full minute before it gets up (the defeat condition for the fight)
11/11 if the dragon somehow has trouble with characters 4 levels below its cr, one of which is the spike of level 5, it can just fly 20 feet in the air and blast everyone with its poison breath.
One of the characters conquers 2 in-game nations and the campaign doesn’t like that.

11/11. The DM will likely make it that running two nations is VERY hard, and the whole campaign will descend into a bloody was between the two nations. Maybe a dragon or three gets involved also.
A party with no magic-based players is stranded on an iceberg.

The dm just straight removed the character lol. I said the CAMPAIGN didn’t like it, not the dm. He gave numerous warnings so it’s more on the player.
9/11 do they have winter coats and fishing equipment? And is it near a common trade route? Because they have a chance if the answer to all those is yes. Otherwise not much they can do.
The whole party rolls nat 1 on perception.

8/11. If it was to spot the wandering trader on the nearby road, they should be fine. If it was to see the tripwire connected to the dungeon's flamethrower trap, then the party's (quite literally) toast.
The (Level 1) Barbarian in the party decided to take off all their armor and weapons to wrestle with a Dire Wolf.

10/11 maybe they can hide still. If they were already spotted and the owlbears are hostile then 11/11 because even 1 of them has a decent chance of wiping the party
The party’s going to try to kill an old one later in the campaign.
11/11 - The average damage of the wyrmling's breath does 50% more damage than the highest possible max hp a fighter could have (16, attained by being a Hill Dwarf and rolling an 18 for Constitution). They are super dead.
