oh hey, new player! time to roll a random number generator to decide whether you spawn in the sidequest or in the main field... yeah, in the sidequest it is. you load your three arrows and fire. one of them lands in his curry, one of them misses by a bit, and he catches the last one. he then eats the curry and the arrow that landed in it. that might be important later.
EORR the sorta scrap guard figures out whats going on, and lies still. the technicians guard continues guarding it. the battle technician is confused, and attaches his friends left leg to his right shoulder and his right hand to his left leg socket. The Godmodder reveals that the curry is spicy. like, really spicy. like, its so spicy the Godmodder is now breathing fire on you all. burning debuff applied to everyone.
I throw a lightning bolt at the guards since, as you just confirmed, they are tech.
Zzzzzap... Wait, that already happened didn't it? someone used a magic lightning spell and it did 0 damage directly (supercharged an arcane orb for 20 damage).
Sorry, hands are tied. who's hands? the guards hands. because mine where tied into not dealing damage. where'd the rope come from? I don't know, I'm on a horse.
I cast lesser restoration on myself to get rid of the fire.

Yes, this will do nicely... heh. the Godmodder has done something to the messed up machinebomination. that being increased its AC to 6.
I position myself just right so that I catch the guards and the Godmodder with a lightning bolt spell.
the guards all conduct electricity, taking 0 damage... before the bolt hits the Godmodder's remaining Arcane orb, supercharging it with electricity. it goes haywire for a moment, doing 10 armor-piercing damage to 2 of the guards (killing one) before the Godmodder gets it under control. the Godmodder now has one supercharged arcane lightning orb."
I cast True invisibility and move as far away from to fire as possible
since both you and booksbooks are on fire, and you can't move away from yourself, you run away from booksbooks. as quickly as possible. lets see, the Godmodder is near a doorway, the exit is as far from him as possible, and you can't be directly between him and booksbooks... rolling random.org from 2-9... rolling random.org to decide whether to reveal decision process... eh, sure.
Numbers represent your possible possitions (and as such run directions) based on random.org roll. red areas are impossible positions. You got a 6, running nearly directly away from the Godmodder (who is the original source of the fire, so it even makes sense!). you discover a new area. full of spikes, mazelike, and with a countdown until it gets blown to smithereens. clearly, this is an optional sidequest within a sidequest. because everyone loooooves recursion!
Note: The lightning bolt was previously thrown at the godmodder ANDTHEMASTERWORKGUARDS, but fine. :-)

you put out both of your fires! this also means D_N_D Lover's "run away from fire" action forcefully terminates, keeping him from running straight into a spike (which he wouldn't have actually done otherwise. t'was a joke.)! you are now both afflicted by the weaker "tender skin" debuff.
Well. since it worked SO well last time, time to cast confusion again, this time on the machinebomination.
It did indeed work well last time, as while slightly stronger, a Machinebomination lacks any of the Adaptability of a masterwork guard's many combat roles. the Machinebomination is still learning to walk, so the confusion keeps it from learning to do that until cured.
The Confused Technician realizes their changes aren't so good (curing its confusion), and spontaneously has its action delayed until after the Godmodder. The tied-up guard rolls to undo the knots. 19+ escapes, and it rolls a 16. still trapped! The machinebomination moves in a mildly threatening way as it completely fails to walk in a straight line, or a jagged line, or any line for that matter, because it can't walk. The Godmodder teaches the Technician the Wonders of FLEX TAPE! the super-strong waterproof tape that can Instantly Patch, bond, seal and repair. That's right, Flex tape instantly repairs things. the Technician has discovered a new god. they worship the flex tape, and learn to use it. Next round, they'll Slap on that flex tape with the might of Zeus, Have no patience, and it'll instantly repairs! unless, of course, someone stops them...
