I am looking to run through Wild Beyond the Witchlight with 3-4 players who don't mind a GM who can only post a couple times a day.
What I expect:
Some usage of grammar and narrative in the 3rd person as you describe what your character is doing. It does not have to be long, but do try to give it some flavor.
Patience. I have two jobs. I will post everyday, but it may be at different times.
Respect for me and each other. Remember you are playing a cooperative game and your fellow players are people with feelings.
Absolutely no homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, etc. It doesn't exist in my game worlds.
Let me know if you're going to be gone longer than three days.
Campaign Info:
3-4 Players
Any race/class allowed. I will be sharing content, so you will have access to Harengon and Fairy, should you wish it.
No homebrew, but UA is fine.
Any background allowed. You will have access to the adventure-specific backgrounds Feylost and Witchlight Hand.
Characters may have connections to each other.
We will likely be starting at level 3, unless everyone is determined to start at level 1.
Ability scores - Roll 4d6, drop the lowest. Reroll 1's always. If less than 75, reroll.

Backstory: (You can keep this light, or write a paragraph; it's up to you. We can work to tie it in if needed.)
The Hook, since it will likely help you with backstory:
The traveling extravaganza known as the Witchlight Carnival visits your world once every eight years. You have a dim memory of sneaking into the carnival as a child without paying for a ticket. That memory has grown foggy over time, though it still conjures a weird admixture of emotions—wonder and awe mixed with loss and regret. During this childhood visit, your character lost something. You tried to find it, but the carnival owners—a pair of elves named Mister Witch and Mister Light—were decidedly unhelpful.
“Silly little screeching cricket,” said Witch. “You forgot to buy a ticket.”
“The carnival goes round and round,” said Light. “The multiverse is our playground. Nothing’s free and nothing’s lost. Every visit has its cost.”
As time passed, your heart became less heavy, and you gave less and less thought to those childhood events. Now, for reasons you can’t explain, the longing to retrieve that which you have lost has resurfaced, as though an old spell has faded away, allowing you to feel the loss as sharply as if it happened yesterday.
The Witchlight Carnival has returned, and you find yourself standing near a ticket booth by the entrance at twilight, just as the carnival is about to open. There you meet others who look as troubled as you. Without knowing how or why, you sense that each of them has lost something as well. Perhaps fate has brought you together.
Name: Ameh Race: Harengon Class: Wizard (Warmage) Backstory: Ameh visited the carnival when he was young and foolish. He snuck in, as he could not afford a ticket, and was having fun, until he got caught. His life has not been quite the same since that day. He has done well, but something is missing, something he needs to get back. Having heard the carnival was coming around again, he has made certain he will be there this time, ready to go back in to see if he can find what was lost. After the carnival Ameh took up the study of magic. he found a wizard master, who taught him much about the arcane arts.

Name: Dye Hard
Race: Bugbear
Class: Fighter (Echo Knight)
Backstory: Dye Hard was born in the Wastes of Xhoras and trained under the Kryn Dynasty When he was a wee lad, he visited the Witchlight Carnival, sneaking in without paying, and played different games. When he returned home, he noticed he was shorter than he once was. His parents even said something. Growing up, he never reached past five-and-a-half feet tall and many laughed at him. This led him to take up training and become a warrior for the Kryn Dynasty. He learned about the carnival from one of the Dynasty's sages, who advised him to stay away. Seeing the Carnival's lights, he couldn't help but follow the brightness. He hopes that returning to the carnival will return his lost height.

name: Sam Joulstien
race: changling
class: druid (moon)
background: witchlight hand
backstory: Sam was enamored by the carnival at a young age. They snuck out to the carnival, and Mister Witch offered them a job in order to pay for the attractions. Sam was more than happy with this set up, and has worked for Mister Witch and Mister Light, felling only slightly guilty leaving thier family behind. They learned various performing jobs, from clowning, to being a lion tamer, to be the 'fortune teller'. Thier favorite attraction is the "enchanted mirror" where Sam mimics the person and either pretends to age and die right before the person's eyes, look grotesque version of themselves, act different from the person.
To get more money for Mister Witch and Mister Light they learned to pickpocket the crowd when they were not performing. They also tried to find other ways to boost performances, beyond of that of a normal changling and more than what was asked for them. They often go out to the Feywilds and study the enchanted forest and nature, which they learned to love the fey. A particular fey, a dryad, was able to trust them enough to entrust them the knowledge of casting from nature and how to shift to animals. They used this knowledge for a new exhibit.
ATTENTION ALL I PRESENT TO YOU THE AMAZING LARGO, THE WONDERFUL BEAR!
A brown bear rides in on a bike. While riding the bike the bear seems to try to use a drum to a beat. The bear gets off the bike in a flourish and starts dancing to the beat. A man is trying to get the crowd riled up and start dancing with the bear. The bear dances for a while until the crowd starts to get bored with it and the bear starts to try to juggle, which failed but gained giggles from the crowd. After the performance, the bear gives the crowd a bow and goes backstage wheeling on its bike.
AND THAT WAS LARGO GIVE HIM A HAND!
Sam was tired after the show and decided to take a break. They went out to the carnival, wanting to partake in some of the attractions, they heard there were some new ones to see.

Name: Peri
Race: Human (Would take the Fighting Initiate Feat)
Class: Fey Wanderer Ranger
Background: Urchin
Backstory: Peri ended up on the streets at seven, falling through the cracks after her mother was arrested. The fellow kids on the streets took the young girl under their wing, not wanting to see her starve or worse in winter. None of them had much, but they had each other, and sometimes that's all they needed. When she was 10, she became close with a girl, close to her age when she ended up on the streets, who was selling flowers to help her family. Peri would, on the rare occasion she got an extra piece of bread or found something nice, would give it to her friend to help. When the Witchlight Carnival rolled into the area when Peri was 12, her friend lamented that she wouldn't be able to afford a ticket. Peri decided to sneak in with her friend, thinking they deserved to have some fun, tickets be damned.
Her memory of her time in the Carnival is foggy, but she remembers everything slowly growing duller until she couldn't see color anymore. Days after she thought it was just a trick the Carnival Masters pulled. Weeks went by and the world remained in shades of grey. Months. Peri lamented losing that part of her, but didn't have much time to think about it. Food and shelter always took precedence. Eventually, she was taken in by a former soldier turned woodcarver, who taught her how to defend herself. Peri would gather wood for him, and spend some time hunting with the skills he taught her. The time at the Carnival, while it took something from her, also granted her some Fae magic. Now hearing the Carnival is returning years later, Peri wishes to return again, wanting to see it for herself once more.

Name: Felwin Truegift
Race: Gnome
Class: Barbarian - Wild Magic
Backstory: Feylost - Misters Witch and Light gave little care when kicking Felwin out of the Carnival. It has already passed to the Feywild dropping him in the magic infused plane he learned to survive taking on a number of fey traits and behaviors.
Name: Sozen Astraden Race: Human - Versatile Class: Bard - College of Spirits Backstory: Witchlight Hand: Sozen is a man in his middle years. He's lived his entire adult life at the Witchlight Carnival, having walked away from his family on his own plane in his youth to become a traveler. He wasn't much of an adventurer, but he was able to earn enough coin to get by by doing what he loved most: singing.
When Sozen first arrived at the Witchlight Carnival a few years after he struck out on his own. The marvels of the place drew him in, as did the isolation from his old stomping grounds. As such, he asked to join the Carnival as a performer, and never looked back. He would often write songs about some of the happier moments from his childhood, or the beauty he had seen in the Fey Wilds. However, over time he discovered that he could no longer sing or compose happy music. His mind would always falter, or default to more macabre subject matter. As a result he shifted his act from a joyful performer to instead serving as a jaded fortune teller. He wants to get his music back though, and begins to work with the party to accomplish that goal.

Name: Reblen Spinwick Race: Rock Gnome Class: Artificer (Battlesmith) Backstory: Fascinated with magical toys and trinkets since a youngling, Reblen followed in his mother's footsteps as a tinker and creator of baubles and oddities. Reblen has lived with his aunt and uncle for years, after his mother's disappearance. The vague memories he retains of his time at the Witchlight Carnival becoming stronger reminded him of the last toy his Mother made him, a small 4-legged metal spider with a red gem set where the head would be. He loved the tiny magical contraption and took it everywhere with him, it crawling around on it's own volition.
When he lost the spider, he was devastated. His mother's disappearance came soon after. With the memories, and the pang of the loss resurfacing, Reblen finds himself drawn back to the mysterious carnival. With a small collection of trinkets he made, to sell to the crowds outside of the carnival, he looks to make the money to buy a ticket, and reclaim his spider, somehow!

Background: Callen loves magic, all kinds of magic. Attending the fair reinforced that, being exposed to all that the fair offered. Unfortunately, the loss of the item at the fair has also weighed heavily on him.
Growing up in the city has exposed him to all kinds of magic users. He acknowledges that full on spells are useful, so are the cantrips. His hobby became an obsession and now he goes out of his way to learn all the cantrips he can. Callen won't turn down the opportunity to learn a full spell. They are useful and there are reasons they are used by full casters. Being a hermit, focusing his attention on her studies has started to pay off. He's already collected a few of the cantrips from a couple of schools of magic. But the desire to learn more is always there. In his spare time, he volunteers in magic shops. Listening to the shopkeeper talking to customers, listening for anything that might advance his own understanding. Working for free definitely helps. He feels he's learned all he can around his city. Maybe striking out into the world will help him learn more.
