Hello! And welcome to our multi-level dungeon crawler. Me and our other Dungeon Master will take turns running each floor, while the other will control all of the monsters and/or traps. This is an experiment at this type of playstyle, and thank you for joining us.
You will expect to solve traps, fight off hordes of monsters, and maybe discover something beyond your wildest dreams waiting at the top...
Our cast of PCs:
- Zonan, a Shadar-kai wizard/bloodhunter played by IINSANIITY
- Sora, a Dragonborn barbarian played by LevmiaOraloth
- Fen Manyfish, a kitsune bard/fighter played by badbovine

Sora takes a look around, steadying herself and casts Dancing lights into four silver balls that shed light, moving them around the room, searching for the source of the blood. "Can anyone see the source?" She asks loudly to the others waking in the room.

A short, cat-like humanoid wielding a shield, as well as a chain attached to a deep black tome, almost flail-like in nature, produces a magical white light on their clothing, casting the Light spell. Their orange fur glistens from the magical light that fills the room. They then respond,
"I'll try to use me shield to clog one of de' grates lass, do a lil look'n as well, but I've got confidence in ye!"
Their words prove to be inspiring to Sora as they then proceed to try to hold down their shield on one of the grates to block the water, scanning the environment with their eyes as they do.
Athletics to plug the grate with the shield: 22
Perception to scan the room for something to shut off the blood: 19
Bardic inspiration on Sora's most recent perception roll: 3
Sora scans the room for any grates within a fifteen foot cone she could potentially freeze with her breath. (14 Investigation 20 perception) "I can freeze a few of them, I think. As long as they're close by one another." She climbs on top of the table she'd been on to avoid any further blood on her clothes or tail.
"That works! An' don't worry bout' yer clothes, I got spells at' can elp' wi-" The cat-person cuts themselves off, and their eyes glimmer with realization as they exclaim "These are magical... They're magical! I've got someth'n fer that!" They then begin to hum a slow melody that starts of strong and gets softer and softer, trying to untangle the strands of magic that keep the blood flowing from the grates as they cast Dispel Magic at 3rd level!
(Do I have to make a spellcasting ability check to see if I can dispel this trap, or does it auto succeed?)
