Backstory:
Ricardo is the son of a slave. His mother, Isabel, was owned by a respected wizard, Xaltotum. She was responsible for cooking his meals and cleaning his house. A rival of Xaltotum's seduced her, hoping to gain access to the wizard's library. But, Xaltotum figured out what was going on before that happened. The rival did however impregnate Isabel with Ricardo. As Isabel is a slave, Ricardo was born a slave. When he was old enough to help around the house, Xaltotum put him to work. The child was very clever, leading Xaltotum to give him ever more complex tasks, including transcribing maps and magic texts. When he realized that Ricardo had an aptitude for magic, Xaltotum began to train him as a wizard. Although Ricardo was raised in Xaltotum's home on the outskirts of Baldur's Gate, the young man has seen little of that city and absolutely nothing else of the Sword Coast. This all changed recently, when Xaltotum gambled Isabel in a game of wizard's chess, a game he lost. Following a heated argument with Xaltotum, Ricardo decided to run away and earn enough money to buy Isabel's freedom and his own freedom. Knowing that he would be instantly recaptured if he hung around Baldur's Gate, the young man fled north toward Waterdeep hoping to find opportunities to earn money.
Backstory: Gramogar was born and raised just outside of the city of Luskan. He joined the local militia at a young age putting his strength to work in keeping the people safe. At one point, on an escorting mission to Waterdeep, his group was attacked by Giants. He barely managed to survive, and the rest of his group was wiped out. He was not left unmarked though, losing one of his ears and almost his eye in his attempt to flee. Now he spends his time as a mercenary, doing small jobs here and there until he felt like he was missing the road and wanting to find something exciting to do.
I am currently running LMoP but would be interested in playing it for the first time:
Name: Ardreck Iron-legged
Race: Goliath
Class: Forge Cleric
Stats: Standard Array
Backstory: Ardreck grew up deep in the northern mountains. His tribe befriended the nearby dwarves and would often trade with them. One day, Ardreck came across a group of dwarves under attack by a war tribe of orcs. Ardreck jumped in to help the dwarves, and although he was able to turn the tide, an orc mace mangled his leg beyond repair. The dwarves offered to take Ardreck back with them to their citadel. Once there, they gave Ardreck a steel leg to replace the one he lost. While Ardreck was there, he learned how to smith and worked with the dwarves to make many an item. One time while he was selling the dwarven wares, he met a young dwarf name Gundren. The two hit it off quickly and Gundren offered Ardreck a job down in Neverwinter.
In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the nearby rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandlin, a couple of days travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you 10 gp each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandlin. He then set ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming that he needed to arrive early to "take core of business." You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail. As you are walking you think back a week before when you all met.
Gramogar ambles alongside the wagon, scratching at what's left of his left ear. "We've got to be getting close soon right? I thought we would've seen something after all this time." He takes out his mace and swings it around in mock combat. "even some wolves would do, even though I've had my fair share."
Having arrived in Neverwinter without any money to his name, Ricardo knew he needed to earn some money and find a place to stay. When he saw Gundren loading up the wagon outside of a general merchandise store, the human approached him offering his aid in loading the wagon. The wizard was hoping to obtain a silver piece or two. He was not expecting to get the job offer Gundren made, and, for 10 gold pieces. The young human soon found himself in a strange group of companions, with a dragonborn, half-orc, and goliath his companions heading to Phandlin. Ricardo could not recall ever hearing of the town, or even seeing it on any of Xaltotum's maps But, it town wasn't deemed important to Xaltotum, it is likely that Ricardo wouldn't have paid much attention to that name on a map.
Even after a week on the road with his companions, Ricardo still was trying to gauge the temperament of everyone around him. He was surprised by the steel leg on the goliath, and wondered where it came from. But, the young man was too nervous to ask him about it. With both Gramogar and Ardreck scarred by prior battles, Ricardo hoped he would be able to provide adequate support for the two veterans if they ran into any bandits.
You've been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day. As you come around the corner, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the path. The both have black, feathered arrows sticking out of them. The woods press close to the trail here. What do you do?
Gramogar helps slow our wagon until they stop a good distance away. He looks at the dead horses, then looks back at his troupe. "Looks like we missed the fun. Watch my back, I'll go take a look. Anyone is welcome to join me if they'd rather." He then heads over to the horses to inspect them, I wonder how long they've been here, he thinks to himself.
{No you do not} The saddlebags have been completely looted with an empty map case in the bags. Suddenly medium sized objects come out of the nearby woods.

Ardeck is a large, grey skinned goliath. Dressed in beautiful and ornate armor, covered in dwarven runes, he carries a large mace and a shield inscribed with the symbol of Moradin. His right leg is missing below the knee. It is replaced by a simple and elegant metal leg. As you traveled, he mostly kept quiet. When asked how he knew Gundren, the goliath gruneted, "Good friend. Craftsmen must stick together." He speaks common with a thick and rough accent that is a mix of dwarven and goliath. It is obviously not his best language.
As they come upon the horses, Ardeck's eyes light up. He mutters a quick dwarven prayer to Moradin before limping to the front. Looking at the looted horses, he grumbles, "Poor sport it is to kill a helpless animal and not even use the creature for food." He scans the woods nearby, knowing that many raiders, his clan included, often used places like this for ambushes. (Perception if you want 11)

Thank you I will wait till 8:00 West coast time to make it final and start the campaign.
Quick question: Does Scorch trust Ricardo even though he is a human?
Thanks! Also does 8:00 work for everyone? If not let me know.
