The twelfth day of Nymm is Brightblade, meaning that across the myriad bridges and streets of Sharn the festival of Dol Dorn is in full swing. Throughout the day, commoner and noble alike have gathered about to observe or participate in numerous types of prizefights, archery contests, wrestling matches, and other tests of skill. In the district of Middle Tavick's Landing, all of these various events culminate in the Grand Contest of Champions, which begins in the middle afternoon at around four bells (depending on when the lesser contests that feed into it manage to wrap up). This contest is the pinnacle of the holiday, THE only place to be if you're anyone in the city of Sharn.
But...it's not the place for everyone.
While the Cornerstone in Middle Tavick's Landing claims to welcome any city resident or tourist who wishes to come and see the main event of the day, it has long been known that certain elements of Sharn's population are treated more wholesomely than others. The droaamite visitor with snakes for hair and the Cyran refugee without even a crown to his name would both likely find their experience at the Cornerstone more trouble than the Contest would be deemed worth.
And so it is that many such inhabitants of Sharn, when the city's many clocktowers tolled three times, began making their way not to the Cornerstone in Middle Tavick's Landing...but to a little-used establishment known as The Fernian's Hall, halfway across the city in the dusk-shrouded district of Lower Menthis. Rumors have abounded in the lower city for nearly the last week, whispering of a special treat that would be offered as an alternative to the Contest of Champions.
A one day only, Brightblade special exhibition of...the Burning Ring.
To be clear, this is an invitation-only campaign. There was no recruitment thread, because I've put this adventure together specifically for a group of close friends. Please do not attempt to post in this thread asking to join.
That said, if your only interest in this thread is to enjoy reading it, then I welcome you to do so and hope it doesn't disappoint.
On account of Orrik's discussed background connections to the Burning Ring, is he aware of any particulars of the days events that others might not be?

As a sometimes participant in the Burning Ring, Orrik would be aware that most of the "special" in the day's special event is that the Ring is accepting all challengers today. Anyone willing to accept the risks can try their luck at taking on some of the notable faces from the Ring's recent circuit.
As far as whether you know more than that...give me an Insight Check.

Apparently...you've been a bit too preoccupied with your studies up at Morgrave University for the past several weeks to have really gleaned any more information. In fact you're lucky to have even noticed the message that the event was happening at all.
Well then, provided he hasn't found out about it too late, Orrik will make his way to Lower Menthis to see about signing up for a few rounds.
A pit fight would be a good way to stretch his muscles and relax after finishing up finals. Perhaps he'll even spot some of his lower city friends and grab a few drinks afterward.

Sharn is the largest city in all of Khorvaire, and during any of the numerous festivals throughout the year, the merchants and food vendors come out in force.
If you're looking for something specific, I shall need to know what part of the city you are exploring in.
