After months of tracking down the evil necromancer that has been plaguing the countryside, you finally catch up to him in a small cavern complex and after a grueling battle, you were able to kill him and his evil undead minions. You spent some time searching through his lair and came upon some weapons that you could all use and decided to head towards the nearest town of Bezentil.
You have heard that the Windblown Goat Inn has a very special liquor called Goldenleaf and people travel for miles around to get a taste of it. With your hard earned money and new items, you head out on the long walk towards the town. You have a pleasant time recalling parts of the trip that you encountered and you're very happy with the way you guys have become a cohesive fighting force when it came time to fight the Necromancer.
As the sun begins to set over the treetops you find a nice spot to camp in the woods that looks easily defendable and you set up camp for the night.
The woods are quiet this night, and the air grows chill. Your fire sputters as a low mist gathers around the edges of your camp, growing closer as the night wears on. By morning, the fog hangs thick in the air, turning the trees around you into gray ghosts. Then you notice these aren’t the same trees that surrounded you the night before.
Reggie huffs as sits up and looks around the campsite. "Wake up," he grumbles, even though the others are stirring as well. He stands, runs a hand through his hair and down his beard, and turns in a slow circle, looking around at the fog. He walks a few feet toward the strange trees, kicking the slowly moving minotaur as he walks by. "We fell asleep," he says reproachfully, not looking at Artus. He unsheaths his moon-touched longsword and holds it horizontally over and in front of his head. Its glow brightens the dense fog immediately around him and casts a little bit of light on the trees close at hand. He turns to look at his companions. "Where are we?" he asks, cursing.
Andrei is already awake. He says nothing to Reggie, merely raising one thin eyebrow at him as he grabs his faintly glowing ice axe and looks around carefully for anything extraordinary in the light of Reggie's sword.
As Andrei looks around the campsite, using the light of Reggies sword, he doesn't notice anything that could tell where they are or how they got here. The campsite looks the same as you remember it when you fell asleep but the trees are definitely not the same ones that you remember.
Andrei frowns, the pale scabs across his right cheek rippling slightly. He mutters a curse in Abyssal and begins packing his items as quickly as possible, ice ax within reach the entire time.
Artus gets up and rubs his side where Reggie kicked him. He looks around and is confused. The trees are very different, and Artus runs his hands over the tree to see if he can determine what kind and where they might be.

Tilo sits up and looks around the camp, brushing stray locks of his dreads out of his eyes. He jumps to his feet weekly when the landscape is unfamiliar to him. Drawing one of his shortswords, it glows similarly to Reggie's blade. "Andrei, where are we? Those trees don't look right at all." He says as he looks at the trees nearby, trying to remember if it was of a type found in a region he had traveled to before.
As Tilo and Artus look around at the new surrounding they have no idea where they might be. They do figure out that the trees are Evergreens but that does not help at all as to where they are.
"They're Evergreens, but I'm not sure if that does us any good, do you know where evergreens commonly grow, Andrei? I wonder if there's any game around." Tilo advances towards the closest batch of trees looking for signs of creatures nearby.
Reggie returns to his bedroll, stabs his longsword into the ground, and quickly packs his belongings. "I don't like this," he says more to himself than the others. He takes a swig from his flask and stands, retrieving his sword, but leaving it out at his side. "I'd rather be moving. Can we go?" he asks Andrei.

As the others are packing, Reggie does a quick circuit of the perimeter, holding his sword aloft and looking for what he would consider the best route to suggest.

As the others are packing, Reggie does a quick circuit of the perimeter, holding his sword aloft and looking for what he would consider the best route to suggest as Tilo looks as well for any sign of creatures or tracks. You both notice many footprints, that looks fairly old, heading to the South deeper into the woods.
In the distance, you can hear Wolves begin to howl. They don't sound that far away. The sound is coming from the North.
Hearing the wolves, Artus pulls a giant double-headed axe from his back. It has a square top, and blades that span a foot down the 5 foot handle. The blades themselves are a tarnished old steel, but the edge is sharp and shines in the light from Reggies sword.
"I don't like wolves. We should leave..."

Reggie stops his circuit and looks north as the wolves' howling. He draws his second sword — this one a standard longsword — holding both weapons at his sides, ready for anything. "I would suggest going south," Reggie says to Andrei, but looking at Tilo. "There are tracks heading that way. And if we can avoid tangling with wolves, all's the better."

"Huh, you're right." Tilo says in response to Andrei's terse reply, "I did see a bunch of these kinds of trees further down the mountains back home, it's been so long I forgot..." Tilo gets a distant look in his eyes back quickly comes back to when he hears the wolves howl. "This fog isn't too good for fighting wolves, I agree with the big guy and Reggie." As he's speaking he begins setting up a hunting trap on the path to the south, camouflaging it a bit. He secures the 3ft. chain to a nearby tree. Seeing Andrei agree to Reggie's plan, Tilo says, "I'll scout ahead then. No idea where it goes though, but I can say that about any direction and this one goes away from the wolves. Watch out for the trap." He catches Andrei's pensive glance and looks away quickly. Tilo moves ahead quickly, searching the path ahead and to the sides for any threats. He tries to stay 20 ft or so ahead of the party, but stops if it seems he's out of sight from the party due to the fog.
