Adventure Summary
You're suddenly thrust into a new world, one deprived of magic and stuck in a medieval-like era where few dare venture out. Thousands of years since a godswar severed the land of Eubraxa from the Weave, a mysterious and powerful figure hand picks a team of adventurers from across the multiverse and drops them into a mountainous town recovering from a failed rebellion spurred by a mysterious, dark power.
Having been defeated once, this power has been embraced by another who has disappeared without a trace. What's its goal? Where did it go?
The region around Stag's Valley has recently been reconnected with the Weave after millennia, but to what consequences?
Strange wastelands have stained the landscape for centuries, what are they and why are they here?
Every land has local legends of extraordinary people. The arrival of our heroes, strangers with magical powers, begs the question: are those extraordinary people gifted with magic as well? Where are they now and what do they know about magic?
Your Adventurer:
This is a heroic fantasy adventure. We will be using character options from official D&D 5e sources, or CR, in a homebrew setting similar to a low-magic version of the Sword Coast.
The good news is, there's already a Cleric, Paladin, and Rogue. If you still want to introduce another one of those, go for it! I'm less concerned about perfect party balance.
Your adventurer has a special connection to the Weave, whether they have any spellcasting ability or not. This ability to cast magic and use magical items will make them exceptional in the world.
Your adventurer can be from just about any part of the multiverse. Flavor it as you see fit! I'm assuming this will result in a hodge-podge party.
Adventurers start at level 5 with standard starting equipment or gold, AND either: x1 Common/Uncommon Magic Item OR a Feat of their choice.
Adventurers may not use the Lucky Feat.
Level advancement is by party experience points. Multi-classing is allowed within the rules in the PHB and if narratively appropriate.
Homebrew character options are not allowed.

Backstory - Zelex came from a land in which magic was commonplace, and he himself was born in the epicenter of it all, the Woods of Comfluence. A place that went without description, because what it was changed every few hours. Sometimes it was a swampland, other times a coniferous forest, and sometimes it was a lake. Too any outsider, it was chaotic, untraversable, and even dangerous. Those unadapted to the energy could find themself changing with the woods, after all. Zelex, however, could thrive. For most of his young life, he lived with only a few members of his family, hunting during the day and at night telling grand stories of dragons and serpents across the land outside of the great forest. For the first 10 years of Zelex' life, it was serene. It was still chaotic and free, but with just a bit of order that made everything click into place. They made wood carvings, beaded jewelry, and anything else they could fashion from the plantlife. One such was a set of necklaces, given to Zelex by his family. Both had a snake fang tied around a ring of twine, with intricate designs crafted on each side. It was a treasure to Zelex, and even after his family departed from him, leaving him alone to hunt and feed, he kept the necklaces. Zelex lived among the animals. He hunted with them, ate with them, they truly acted as another family, in a way, and it provided comfort. For the next 4 years, he lived like this, until he was transported. He slept with one of the necklaces tied around his neck, the other one in a makeshift satchel beside him. So, even as he was thrust into this new world, he could only have kept one.

One day, she encountered a mysterious portal calling her to find her dream goal inside it and teleported her to Eubraxa, whilst a voice in her head saying that the love of her life is inside that world, but she will need to wander the entire world to find him.

As a result, she took to the Neverwinter Jungle and bonded with animals to escape reality. Whilst training to be a master wildland archer, she met and befriended Xenia, a kobold rogue who struggled to adapt an survive in the same jungle alone and ended up becoming a monster to the common folk just because they couldn't understand her. The two formed a close bond with each other and honed each other's skills. One day, they found a portal that leads to Eubraxa and it's calling them, saying that it needed the two warriors to help save the dimension. Daisy decided to jump into the portal with Xenia and wander around the new world, knowing that they will have to endure their own hardships again if they want to succeed on this mission.

Learning how to survive on her own in a jungle caused her to lose any form of empathy for other humanoids and beasts until she met Daisy, a female Wood Elf Ranger living in the same forest as her who understood her hardships. She formed a close bond with her and regained her compassion for others as well as her psionic abilities. One day, Xenia found a portal leading to Eubraxa and heard in her head saying that the world need her and Daisy's skills to help save the world, causing the former to jump in after the latter and prepare to redeem themselves for their past traumas.

- Live free or die ("I'm Khessa, I'm free as the blowing wind") - Fascinated by mistery or arcane (partly because she got to experiment first-hand the advantage that a drow spellcaster gave to the drow raiding party, partly because she has always been curious) - She thinks: "I'll show the drows the same mercy they have shown me" (she will NOT kill peaceful drow on sight, of course, but she will be quite wary of every drow... and will show no mercy to an UNPEACEFUL drow - or to a slaver) - Fear of total darkness - She will do whatever it takes to free her family, kidnapped by the drows (she will not go back to underdark alone to get uselessly killed... because if she gets killed, her family will be doomed to life-long slavery. But she will always keep her goal in mind - trying to get information, win allies, or improve herself until she will be able to go) she will also, in the meantime, always do her best to help common folk or defenseless people (for they remind her of her family).
SHORT backstory: Khessa was born to a peasant family, in a small village of the Savage Frontier. At the age of 20 she is kidnapped, with her family, during a raid of drow slavers. With some luck she manages to free herself, along with some other slave from her village. After a a dangerous journey in the underground, during which she is forced on several occasions to defend herself in the hostile and unfamiliar environment (risking her life, but also honing her fighting skills), she manages to lead the slaves back to the surface. With her family still lost in drow hands, she becomes an adventurer; she starts to help the defenseless anytime she can (waiting to be able to help, some day, her family) and to satisfy the curiosity of the world that she had always had… One day, after some years of adventuring career, she is contacted by a mysterious and powerful figure for a quest in this land of Eubraxa - a place Khessa had never heard of before... but since this entity offers her, as a reward, to help her find and free her family, Khessa accepts without thinking twice!

Short Backstory:
A small flame. That's all it was. He had seen its like every day of his life living in the City of Brass. But he had been studying--oh had he been studying--the forgotten lore. His teachers called it nonsense, but he persevered. Leafing anxiously through the dry parchment that seemed inured somehow to the ubiquitous heat, he tried once more. Focusing on the flame, he reached out with his will and it changed! Though it grew no hotter, it seemed to glow brighter, stronger somehow. Could this be it? With trembling fingers, Fuego lifted the treated staff towards the flame. He had passed the protected wood through the flame many times before, and the wood proved stronger, coated with the protective balm as it was. This time, however, was different! A small scorch mark from the tiny flame marred the previously perfect wood--Fuego had discovered the secret of Primordial Flame! Now he would be more than just another flame-chucker; his potent fire could now burn those inured to flame! The possibilities before him were....endless.

Personality, Ideals, Bond, and Flaw:
- Live free or die ("I'm Khessa, I'm free as the blowing wind")
- Fascinated by mistery or arcane (partly because she got to experiment first-hand the advantage that a drow spellcaster gave to the drow raiding party, partly because she has always been curious)
- She thinks: "I'll show the drows the same mercy they have shown me" (she will NOT kill peaceful drow on sight, of course, but she will be quite wary of every drow... and will show no mercy to an UNPEACEFUL drow - or to a slaver)
- Fear of total darkness
- She will do whatever it takes to free her family, kidnapped by the drows (she will not go back to underdark alone to get uselessly killed... because if she gets killed, her family will be doomed to life-long slavery. But she will always keep her goal in mind - trying to get information, win allies, or improve herself until she will be able to go) she will also, in the meantime, always do her best to help common folk or defenseless people (for they remind her of her family).
SHORT backstory: Khessa was born to a peasant family, in a small village of the Savage Frontier. At the age of 20 she is kidnapped, with her family, during a raid of drow slavers. With some luck she manages to free herself, along with some other slave from her village. After a a dangerous journey in the underground, during which she is forced on several occasions to defend herself in the hostile and unfamiliar environment (risking her life, but also honing her fighting skills), she manages to lead the slaves back to the surface. With her family still lost in drow hands, she becomes an adventurer; she starts to help the defenseless anytime she can (waiting to be able to help, some day, her family) and to satisfy the curiosity of the world that she had always had… One day, after some years of adventuring career, she is contacted by a mysterious and powerful figure for a quest in this land of Eubraxa - a place Khessa had never heard of before... but since this entity offers her, as a reward, to help her find and free her family, Khessa accepts without thinking twice!

Short Backstory:
A small flame. That's all it was. He had seen its like every day of his life living in the City of Brass. But he had been studying--oh had he been studying--the forgotten lore. His teachers called it nonsense, but he persevered. Leafing anxiously through the dry parchment that seemed inured somehow to the ubiquitous heat, he tried once more. Focusing on the flame, he reached out with his will and it changed! Though it grew no hotter, it seemed to glow brighter, stronger somehow. Could this be it? With trembling fingers, Fuego lifted the treated staff towards the flame. He had passed the protected wood through the flame many times before, and the wood proved stronger, coated with the protective balm as it was. This time, however, was different! A small scorch mark from the tiny flame marred the previously perfect wood--Fuego had discovered the secret of Primordial Flame! Now he would be more than just another flame-chucker; his potent fire could now burn those inured to flame! The possibilities before him were....endless.

Haven't played in a low-magic setting so this sounds interesting. Knowing my ability scores help with the character creation process, so I'll roll those now and update with a character in a bit.
