Backstory:Finn is the only child of a minor noble. For all his growing up years, he’s been spoiled and taught that he was above everyone else-as well as protected from many of the dark forces in the realm. However, He was also a bit of a rebellious child, disobeying direct orders and often sneaking out, or stealing things for the thrill of it. However, his royal funds have recently been cut off…and he’s understandably a bit miffed. He’s also still in the process of realizing that he’s not actually better than everyone else…it’s coming as a bit of a shock.
Also, I’m reading through the guide to ravenloft starting now.
Backstory: Desmond grew up hearing stories about an apparition that had haunted the men of the Nightfall family and he feared that one day he'd be unfortunate enough to see her. When his father passed away from a sudden illness his fears were made a reality, every night he'd try to figure out a way to free her from her torment but nothing seemed to work and he was worried that he'd die before he could figure out why the apparition had chosen him rather than his older brother. In an attempt to free himself from the torment that the apparition caused he fled his family home but not before leaving a hefty sum of money for his wife, young daughter and newborn son. Even though he's uncertain about it there is a small hint of hope that he'll be able to free his family from the apparition once and for all.
Background : Urchin. I’d like to take the Deadly Touch dark gift, if that is ok as I think it would apply to him.
Backstory :
Sep remembers bits and pieces of his past. As the child who grew up with nothing, he learned how to defend himself and fight at an early age. He became part of a school for wayward youths that taught physical discipline in addition to lessons that attempted to bring the students to spiritual enlightenment. He tried to follow their rules and he grew in strength and his ability to perform maneuvers, the martial arts that he practiced with the masters in the academy.
One night he had a dream of a dragonborn glowing in gold who had five hands moving together in synchrony, a flurry of blocks and attacks, a master of form that he had never witnessed. The dream consumed his thoughts, it was so vivid that he woke up twisted and contorted on his pallet, obviously a very active dream.
The next day when practicing alone he began to move his hands in the manner that he recalled in the dream, and when he did so gouts of flame burst forth from his hands, burning the air in front of him. He turned and moved his hands in a different way that his hands seemed to know and bursts of electricity arced between his hands. A fellow student walked by and noted this, ran and told the masters. Sep kept working on his techniques when alone, and hoped to dream of the dragonborn warrior again. A week later he was confronted by his masters who demanded to see a demonstration of his power. He happily showed them his new feats hoping to impress them, but instead he was labelled a freak and a heretic, his hands were bound and he was taken to be tried and hung for witchcraft, which this obviously seemed to be.
Sib grew up on the streets of Vallaki and like many in Barovia lost everyone close to him in quick succesion to disease, violence and other less natural horrors. Sib was always tall for their age but with barely any meat on their bones and a sallow complexion they are oft times mistaken for one of the returned or something undead entirely. Sib took it into their own hands to act as protector of their peers but has failed at almost every turn.....losing friends to beasts, men and those in-between as well as the hungry dead.
Unable to keep a smile on their face long enough to please the Baron of Vallaki Sib has taken to the road......accepting that death will likely come for them too before long.

Thanks! Well, he was taken and summarily hung for “witchcraft and heresy”, which he completely did not understand. He thought that the others would be pleased and impressed with what he could do. The dreams that he had, the power of some remnant, some lineage of a dragon somehow in his line? He doesn’t understand it, and doesn’t even try to, it hurts his head.
So he was taken and executed, danced the hangman’s jig and then was left, his body was to be taken down in the next day or two. But instead of remaining dead and lost to the world, somehow he came awake. He woke up, still on the noose, everyone had left, and he pulled himself with a struggle to free himself from the noose. He has no idea how he was reborn, or why. It is something that he hopes to learn about and understand, but for now, he hasn’t a clue.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Backstory: Yohannes Maverick was born to a family of proud Aaracokra fighters. For centuries upon centuries the Maverick name was known as one of proud mercenaries, proficient in the spear and bow, and Yohannes was seen as the next feesible step in this lineage. He was the oldest child and the dominant sibling, who else would it be? Though, there was just one problem, Yohannes wasn't a fighter. He was extremely timid and cowardly, barely living up to the glory of his parents. Any danger that came to him, he'd run away from, into a world of tinkering and construction. He saw his family's more primitive fighting tactics as old-fashioned, seeing the future as something to be harnessed and enjoyed. It seemed artificer work was just what he needed, and it was indeed what he loved. His family were disgusted to hear this, and at only 9 years old, Yohannes was exiled from his hometown and to the streets below. Eventually one of his tinkerer friends picked him up, a half-elf. Jonah Vontoine was a famous artificer in his area, known for using a large amount of magic in each of his creations, specializing in robotics. Jonah was more than happy to take Yohannes in as an apprentice, and taught him the things he would need to know. Though, that wasn't all Jonah had planned for him. One day, Yohannes awoke from a deep sleep, finding himself to be on the tinkerer's table, strapped to it by a few metal arms. He looked down, his body was all clockwork. A faint ticking sound emanating from his body, hey even seemed to run off a wind up key on his back. It was, terrifying, yet when he tried to scream, nothing came out. Stuck and paralyzed, until he felt a jolt and fell back to sleep. He awoke in his own, feathered body, but it was true that something had changed. After confronting Jonah, Yohannes discovered the man's plan to fully convert the Aaracokra into a fully obedient construct, and that he just needed one more day to work out all the kinks. Yohannes, understandably, was terrified, running away from the home, hoping to escape the man once and for all.

You should be ready for a balanced playstyle, and treat your party mates well.
I will be ending signups on the 15th thank you for reading this.
Any rules for stat rolling or restrictions on sources? Official, specific books, UA, etc.
Noire Havensong | Harengon Archfey Warlock 6/Lore Bard 4 | Westmarch - Guild of the Phoenix (Discord)
Tanatari Crelieu | Kalashtar Druid 2 | Damian_May's Sleeping Gods
Jynx Starrkeep | Changling GOO Warlock 2 | Astien's Tyranny of Dragons
DM | Eberron Eternal (Discord)
Id like the stats to be rolled, and also in the ravenloft spell book you are allowed to have one darkgift. (If you want.)
I don’t have much experience with the ravenloft setting, but I can research it.
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
Also, are we using XP or Milestone leveling?
