The sound of birds chirping, a normal sound in Pinegaard, fills the air as morning begins. The smell of eggs, bacon, and other breakfast food coming from the open windows in your respective guest rooms in Gehe Teach, or the Mystery House, draws your attention outside where Artemis the werewolf is serving eggs and bacon from her foodcart “Fenris’ Eats.” Sitting at a table is a Bob the Pit Fiend, who’s reading a book that appear small in his large claws. Across from him is Alundra the medusa, who’s chatting it up with Richter, Sylvias’ nephew.
As you wake to begin your day, you can hear Sylvia Magicmouth from downstairs. “It’s opening time!” followed by the sound of coins dropping into a drawer.
So begins your journey. Go ahead and describe your characters, what brought you - or brought you back to Gehe Teach - and how you plan to start the day.
Hawkson is a small fluffy owlin. He stands 3ft tall and imagines he stands 6ft. He has an orange Junior Hunter's Hood that is stained from never taking it off. The hood has many, many different colored ribbons sewn into the bottom hem by a loving mother, denoting a childhood spent dedicated to the teachings of the Order. He has a comically large backpack that has a very real rapier strapped to it (because he couldn't walk with it at his side). He wears a light crossbow on a sling that bounces wildly unless he's holding it. He has the narrowed eyes of someone who thinks they look fierce, but the face of someone cute and cuddly.
Hawkson is an initiate of the Order of the Hunter's Perch, an elite group of airborne blood hunters that scour the land for foul monsters.
Or at least they used to.
Now they mostly wear silly hoods and ask for donations. Their youth program consists of two sorts of members: 1) wayward teens forced into it, and 2) kids enamoured by the uniforms and stories of past glory.
Hawkson is the latter. He believes with all his heart that the Elder Hunters are heroes and - if he tries really, really hard - he will also one day save the world from monsters. He is a sincere kid, but has yet to recognize his own naivety.
His father is an overweight alchemist who only wants some peace and quiet while he reads books and drinks "Hunter's Mark Whiskey". In an effort to keep Hawkson busy for the summer, his father sent him to the harmless Gehe Teach to hunt the legendary (and imaginary) Fanglebeast. Hawkson swore by the blood, blade, and book of the hunt, that he would find this beast… or die trying.
//
Hawkson will wake up, recite the Hunter's Creed quietly to himself, heave his backpack onto his little shoulders, and waddle his way downstairs to begin his hunt. After breakfast, that is. Yes, rule #1 of hunting: a hunter hunts for breakfast before a big hunt.
What a nice day - Merrick could almost feel himself like an ordinary person on holidays. Today he has a lot of plans about exploring the Gehe Teach and its surroundings. Originally, he wasn’t planning to make lengthy stops on his journey, but mystery house sounded like a place he just couldn’t miss. (He would never tell it to anyone, but deep inside he loved all creepy and mysterious things). In addition, these rogues who were chasing him probably wouldn’t look for him here.
Merrick is quite noticeable – he has long ginger hair, braided in a ponytail, a round face with narrow shifty eyes and a look of someone who would definitely sell you something. He could actually try, but, unfortunately, he had to leave his last place of stay in a hurry and couldn’t take the goods with him.
Right now he is heading to the foodcart, greeting house’s workers and an owlin guy he sees on the way. Merrick left his things and instruments in the room, since he isn’t planning to run into any big adventures today. Although he is carrying a small knife in the sheath attached to his belt – a precaution in case of emergency would never hurt.
He still can’t help looking over his shoulder to check that he’s not being followed. Alright, just relax and try to act normal. The exhibition has already opened? Great. Now he just needs to get himself something to eat and then he can finally go exploring this intriguing place.
The smell of bacon makes Lintran wake with a smile on his face. The minotaur likes the feeling of freedom that comes from being on his own, even if it's just for this trip. He had a hard time convincing his father about the benefits it would provide and agree to taking extra chores on his return, but it was worth it so far.
Quicky getting dressed and taking only his dagger he walks out the door, leaving his writing materials in a satchel near his bed. He walks up to Artemis and asks him for a breakfast plate "make it as big as possible, please. I have much to study and don't want hunger to stop me mid day." Taking his food with him, he looks for a place to sit and enjoy the morning sun on his back.
Lintran, Hawkson, and Merrick, you all approach the food cart as Artemis is slinging away for food. She piles on the eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast on Lintran's plate, but also does so with Merrick and Hawkson without them asking as she's so distracted with pouring coffee into Bob's huge coffee mug that is shaped like a well with the words "Bottomless Mug" written on it.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Hawkson says "thank you", teeters, but manages to land his plate on the table beside the reading pit fiend. He very seriously says "dibs" to the stranger and waddles back to Artemis.
Lintran thanks Artemis for the food, not that the werewolf notices, and starts to eat. After scarfing down most of his food, the minotaur walks up to Hawkson and sits next to him to finish what's left of his breakfast "hello, I'm Lintran but most of my family calls me Lin. Are you from around here?"
"Thank you," Hawkson says again to Artemis and goes back to his food. He somehow manages to get seated with his large backpack still on, but it's a near thing.
The young owlin begins to eat voraciously, speaking through mouthfuls of breakfast. He gives Lintran what he hopes is a very serious and professional expression (which just looks like cute squinting). "No, I'm on a special mission from the Hunter's Perch. I'm here to hunt the Fanglebeast." He nods his head, knowing how impressive that is and pats his crossbow. "Don't you worry, Mr. Lintran, sir; you're safe. I'll find the monster and kill it dead. Are you on a special mission too?"
Hawkson notices the shifty Merrick and worries that the stranger is also hunting the imaginary beast. Why else would he be looking around like that? Curious.
"I would not call it a special mission for me, more like a learning experience" Lintran answers to Hawkson while finishing the food in front of him "I'm learning magic and I'm sure there are many places to harvest spell components around these parts. But I haven't heard about the Fanglebeast you mention, how dangerous would you say is it?"
" aahh... Excuse me is this the mystery house?" this small figure with a long white vest covers her snow hair and eyes with an almost fragile voice , appears in front of the forming group in front of her
Bob the pit fiend listens to the conversation before turning to the small figure. "Yes, this Gehe Teach, or The Mystery House as most folk would call it. And you are?"

After taking his plate, Merrick finds a spare place at the table and sits. He is eating slowly, enjoying breakfast and an opening view. At last, some good food - way better than that he had to cook during his journey.
Meanwhile, he is also looking around, noting something in mind - what surrounds the house? How does the building look like? Are there any other visitors, apart from the three of them?
He also observes others, who are sitting at the table. They don't look like ordinary travellers - maybe they came here with some particular goal? Merrick is already planning to leave and go see the what is displayed inside Gehe Teach, when he sees another person approaching them.
- Hello! Did you come from afar? Come join us maybe.
"Ye-ye-yes, oh my it's so cold... Oh yes! I'm Io! I'm a simple traveler, I do have a peculiar que-questi.. Aahh" she sneezes again" aahh its worse... Do you have any source of heat? I'm freezing, I don't have much but I hope I can compensate anyway I ca-ca-can!" She said with all the enthusiasm she could muster, the cold was getting worse and she needed something to heat herself
"I also heard about this place, guess it's real after all, mind if I study for a while he-here?"
As everyone gets to know each other, you see Sylvia emerge from the house, her hand full of posters. She scans the area, almost searching for someone to hand them out before she turns to you. Smiling, she approaches you. "There's my favorite group of people. Once you're done with breakfast and studying and whatever morning activities you need to do, I was wondering if you could go out and hang up these posters in the woods and trees along the trail. I'd ask Christa to do it, but she didn't come back home last night."

Merrick turns around when he sees Sylvia coming and listens. So, they need to put up some posters?
"Sure thing." he answers "Consider it done."
It isn't something he was planning for this day, but, to be honest, today he wasn’t planning anything at all. Besides, a small walk through a forest wouldn't be bad for him. Merrick is finished with breakfast and is probably already ready to go. He grabs a part of the posters from the stack but decides to wait for the others. Even routine work would be more interesting in company.
(Meanwhile he takes one poster from the pile and looks at it - what's written there?)
Lintran finishes his food and takes the empty plate back to Artemis "it was as good as my grandma's, thank you."
He follows Merrick and takes a few posters too, curious about what's written on them. "I can help with this, just let me grab my satchel and I'll be ready to go with you."
Without waiting for an answer, he goes back to his room to grab his spellbook and writing materials. Takes a look around the room to make sure it's not too messy and goes back outside, putting the posters in his satchel too. "Should we go put them down now? I was planning on starting with a walk around the forest today anyway."
Sylvia raises an eyebrow as Merrick takes the posters. "Wow, I didn't think it was going to be that easy."
The poster is simple and reads "Gehe Teach" and it has an arrow pointing toward the house. As you turn the poster, you notice the arrow adjusts its direction, still pointing to the Mystery House.

After absorving some heat from the leftover food almost freezing it "Eh eh much better! I'm gonna help with that, it's the least i can do to help!" Io decided to follow the minotaur and halfing "Sooo... who are you both if i may ask? And why are you here? Sorry i just arrived so i'm a bit lost and get better along with friends"
Lintran greets the newcomer "my name is Lintran, but everyone calls me Lin. What's your name? I'm coming on a research trip to become a wizard, but only arrived yesterday late." He looks at her for a moment and realizes that she is still shivering "do you have a cold or something?"
