Greetings! On July 29, 2023, a group of adventurers started to investigate an old mine along Route 35. They found a gang of Goblins engaged in various thefts and during the ensuing battle, 2 died and the other 2 came near death. However, Our heroes triumphed and emerged victorious but, they were down to 3. Now our heroes made their way to the village of Phandalin and through adventure and misadventure, they have come face to face with a necromancer. Again the heroes battled and emerged victorious. However, sadly one of our heroes is about to come to realize the long arm of the law is very, very long. So, now with two heroes left, are you willing to delve into this world of modern and magic? Do you want to be part of this adventure? Well, introduce yourself and see if the door is open for YOU!
Ok. This is a post to recruit 2, possibly 3 more players for this version of Lost Mines of Phandelver. One player left early on and another had things come up just after the holidays so he had to take a break for a bit. So, if you are interested, please post a character. 3rd level no guns, just yet. currently: Artificer & Ranger are currently playing. (Standard or Point Buy for stats & standard starting equipment) Hope to hear from you soon!
This sounds like a blast…I would love a chance to join in! I do have a cleric looking for a job too lol
Name Gerki
Race Halfling
Class Rogue
Background Criminal/Spy
Backstory
The temple took in many children, due to abandonment or simply the victims of cruelty. Gerki was one such child. He never knew his parents. He only knew the temple. They were good to him. He could not say he was mistreated or neglected.
But he did have a constant struggle while at the temple. He enjoyed getting things that he was not allowed to have. Whether another child’s toy or an item of the temple’s or priest’s, Gerki was sure to make an effort. It often got him into trouble, but it was those lessons that gave way to his increased skills to acquire new items. He grew in patience, and influence over others. Gerki would be able to be in and out of a location, leaving no evidence behind that he was even there.
As he got older his appreciation for gold and silver grew. He began to help others get what they could not reach themselves in exchange for coin. He was really excited by the challenge of it all, and being paid for his efforts. Eventually the day came for him to leave the orphanage at the temple. And he did so with a hearty coin purse.
While he grew in skill, he grew in ambition as well. He continued to hone his skills by joining a local thieves guild. Jobs the likes of which he never imagined were given to him. He handled vaults, hidden treasures, and dragons gold with near ease. He especially enjoyed forgery and spying on those with influence. Those jobs tended to pay more…and more for him because he always kept a copy of those secrets.
Backstory: his fate was to be a hero, as a certain prophecy was told in his village, but luck was not on his side. Soon after he was born his mother died from child birth, his father died of a heart attack, no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t do anything, he was useless in his village, so he trained, and trained, and trained. Until he decided to be a hero, as he could prove that he was useful.
Backstory: Darwin grew up with everything I could want at the end of my fingertips but I became bored and ran away. Darwin has a hunger to explore and use the skills from his lessons to help those in need. When he heard about the Goblin attack he knew this was finally the gift of adventure he was looking for.
Backstory: Khaddim was born in a family of half-orc raiders (or a gang if we go with a modern version of it). His parents took him to every battle their group had while he was still very young and trained him to be a warrior just like them, so he grew as a quite powerful man. However, when he was 15 years old he started to have doubts if his family was doing the right thing with all the people they were hurting, so he started to look all the children's books to learn what other people consider "the right thing". Not long after that he realized that his family ways were wrong and fled, deciding to pledge himself to a life of helping others.
Now he is 26 years old and arrived to Phandelver to keep helping people.
Background: Sage (something like Student would probably be the modern version)
Backstory: Michael was born in the small town of Phandelver. He was always a big reader, which eventually lead him into university and thus moving away from home. He got his hands on some books about the Wicca, which ended up really interesting him. He took it as his religion, and with the help of some books about old rituals and such from the university library he devised something to really get into it. The rituals he made changed his physique, and really opened the world of Wiccan magic to him. Now, nearing the end of his run in university he has come back home for the summer.
Backstory Felix was never the brightest, but he was big and strong and well-meaning. He and his mother escaped their homeland and came to Phandalin as refugees. At first Felix was picked on for being slow, but then he joined the football team and people soon changed their tune. He found welcome and, though he recognized he was being used, he didn't mind as he finally found a place where he fit in. When school ended, he felt adrift, not sure where to go, until he saw the recruiting posters for the Army (of Neverwinter?). They loved him. He served for several years and, though he never raised above the rank of corporal, he gained in self-confidence and recognized his own self-worth. Now, he's returned back to Phandalin, on indefinite leave and a small purse, having sent most of his wages over the years back to support his mom.
