As you stare down the mountains of Thangorodrim, you see the dreaded sight of Anncalagon the Black coming out of the mountain to annihilate you.
I need a party of 8 level 20 characters to do a short fight with a homebrew Ancalagon the Black.
Character Creation Rules:
Ability Scores: Rolled standard array or point buy. If you use point buy, you have 30 points, rather than the normal 27
Magical items: One artifact (Not Mighty servant of Luek-o), two legendary, four very rare, and a max of 5 rares (You don't have to pick all of these out, but you can if you want to.)
Ruleset: 2024. If a spell or subclass was made in the 2014 rules, and it doesn't have a 2024 counterpart, you may use the 2014 version of it.

You have to be careful with this. Many characters can simply Nova Ancient Dragons with these kinds of weapons and bilds.. Potential Damage with this build in the first round assuming all hits and actiona surge
4d6+24 + 19D10 +16d6 +3d8 with 4 short sword attacks and booming blade.
2d4+10 +6d6 +8d6 with two dagger attacks.
The action surge will be less damage...but still....
I would nerf these magic weapons . t's too much. An Archer with an Oath Bow will be similar devistating.

I've never made a level 20 and I'm definitely interested. Two questions first:
1) If I roll for stats, is it "roll 4 drop lowest," or "roll 4, re-roll 1s once, drop lowest," or something else?
2) If I don't like the rolls, can I switch to point buy?

This seems fun! I rolled one time (4d6, drop lowest, default in beyond) and got absurd scores, so I went with a paladin focused on support and survivability.
