Three hundred years ago, the Cataclysm brought ruin to the world of Krynn. In a single day, an age of wonders came to an end. Countless innocents died, the face of the world was reshaped, and the gods themselves faded into legend. Through ages of struggle, the peoples of Krynn survived, but the world isn't what it was. Those nations that remain linger in the shadows of their ancestors' wonders. Only slowly have they begun to push back centuries of darkness and rediscover how the world has changed.
Then came the Dragon Armies, legions of soldiers devoted to the wicked god Takhisis the Dragon Queen, and the world faces ruin once more. The War of the Lance has begun, and in a conflict between gods and dragons, a wounded world hangs in the balance. Even now the gods of good are choosing their champions to combat the evil.

Cassian Beaumont was born into a once-proud Solamnic noble house, one that has long upheld the legacy of the Knights of Solamnia. His family estate rests in the shadow of fallen glory, their lands scarred by famine and raids since the Cataclysm. Though their titles remain, their coffers are thin, their walls crumbling. Still, the Beaumont name is remembered for valor, and with it comes the weight of expectation.
Cassian’s mother died when he was young, her absence leaving a quiet void in the household. His father, once a respected knight, grew distant and severe, more stern mentor than nurturing parent. He sought to shape Cassian into a paragon of the Solamnic Measure, but his rigid demands often felt more like a burden than guidance. Cassian, however, bore it with patience, his sense of duty unwavering.
The one true light of Cassian’s home is his younger brother. Though not strong with sword or shield, the boy is quick-witted, curious, and admires Cassian with almost painful devotion. Cassian shoulders the knightly path not only to honor the family’s name but to inspire and protect his brother, who represents all that he fights to safeguard in a broken world.
When he first entered service, Cassian pledged himself to the Knights of the Crown, eager to prove his loyalty to king and country. He excelled in discipline, order, and leadership, and quickly earned the respect of his peers. Yet it was during this time that he began to feel a deeper stirring within his soul. That feeling crystallized when, in the midst of defending a village from a raiding band, Cassian acted not simply out of obedience to orders, but from love and compassion for the people he served.
Recognizing that his path lay not only in loyalty but in devotion to higher ideals of honor, protection, and truth, Cassian sought the mantle of the Knights of the Rose, the order devoted to Paladine’s light and the defense of the innocent. He found his true calling: to live as a beacon of hope and righteousness, a knight not only of his house, but of the people.
Argh! I'd love to play this, I love the Dragonlance books, but I've read through the module like 10 times already, so it wouldn't really be fun for everyone else. But to everyone else, Est Sularus oth Mithas, and have fun! This module's great.

Liwen hails from Port O' Call in the province of Southlund of Solamnia. As a bustling port city his family made a living as boatwrights. He would help where he can and appreciated how the skills of his family led to the birth of new ships. One day he accidently hammered his finger. The yell of pain caused the hammer and a bag of nails to float and scatter all over the dockyard. He scrambled to clean it up only to bump into a regal man in flowing white robes. His soon to be mentor Master Erlanthor. That night his master sat down with the family and explained the situation about how it would be better for Liwen to go to the Order of High Sorcery. His family was reluctant though they finally gave their permission as long as he would write many letters to them.
Years went by and Master Erlanthor taught him magic and the ethics behind using magic responsibly. Liwen at times chafed under boring lectures as he preferred the hands-on approach. Magic is a tool and an expression of balance he thought. His master had to knock him down a peg a few ... well more than a few times to teach him patience. At the age of 22 he was called upon to undertake the Test of High Sorcery. It was challenging and tested his morals. By the end he was not sure he had passed or not but when he was presented with his red robes, he could not be happier because now he had his freedom to do what he wants in moderation.
Liwen intended to visit his family, but the news of the malicious dragon army put a halt to his plans. Like a specter he could hear his Master expounding on the virtues and responsibility to help those in need. He tried to bury that voice with good food and drink, but like a stubborn weed his masters voice would drone on. In the end he turned around and will do what duty demands of him. Not for the people, but for his Master the white robed old goat of a man.
Hi Weathervision, are you choosing to be a red robe wizard (neutral) of the Mages of High Sorcery by the picture? I assume you are an adult and have already faced the test in Wayreth Forest. They are often evokers and used to combat.
Order of the Red Robes
Inspired by the neutral god Lunitari, the Red Robes help others when it suits them and use their gifts for their own enrichment as they desire. Mages of the Red Robes are expected to wield their power responsibly, represent their order faithfully, and uphold the balance between good and evil in their own actions and the world at large.

Name: Thelara Moonsilver Race: High Elf Class: Fighter Backstory: She is a child of a SIlvanesti noble house who left home on a pleasure trip with some friends. There was a stupid falling out that she could not resolve and is now on her own and unsure where to go as rumors of a dire fate befalling her homeland have reached her.
Heroism can arise from the most humble beginnings. Aurumna Hallowmere was born the daughter of simple fisherfolk, raised in a tiny village called Godnest in Coastlund. In her youth, Aurumna thought of little greater than carousing with her friends, playing relatively harmless pranks on her neighbours, and singing in a ragtag band at the modest tavern in her humble village. She read as widely as she could, captivated by stories of distant lands and daring deeds, but nothing about it seemed any more real than walking on any of the three moons. She was where she was meant to be - life was simple, and she seemed content.
That changed abruptly when the world beyond came intruding. One night, after a grand adventure hiding old fish scraps in the sock drawer of the pompous mayor, chaos erupted. Screams and shouts echoed down Godnest's small streets, when out of nowhere, a draconian and an armoured knight came battling onto the village square. At first, the knight appeared to hold the advantage, but after several brutal swings of its axe, the draconian seized the initiative. A death blow seemed certain, and the villagers scattered in terror.
All except Aurumna. Without thinking, she began throwing rocks, nets, filleting knives - anything she get her hands on, to throw herself between this monster and her home. The enraged draconian began giving her chase, following her through the winding paths down to the reefs, until at last, she was cornered. She closed her eyes, bracing for the end of her young life... only to open them and find the draconian skewered. The bloodied knight had risen and slain the beast.
In the weeks that followed, the knight gradually recuperated in the village, sharing the tale of his hunt. Sir Theodric Wulfmantle explained that he had been tracking the draconian for some time - it was seemingly some kind of scout for a greater, darker force of some kind. In any case, Sir Theodric was very grateful for Aurumna;s intervention, and said he saw within her the soul a knight of Solamnia. Aurumna, who had once never held any great ambitions, suddenly found herself on a journey to Palanthas, to become a Squire of the Crown.
Life has been arduous since then, rigorous and trying, forging discipline into the once capricious young bard. She isn't the finished article yet, but over time, her dreams have changed. No longer content with simple pleasures, Aurumna yearns to prove herself as a full knight, to confront injustice and defend the weak with courage, and to chronicle the deeds of heroes so that their legends might inspire generations to come.

Among the Kagonesti, whispers persist of an ancient tradition known as the Circle of Dragons. Its followers do not see dragons as gods, but as living echoes of the world’s primal forces — storm, flame, wind, and stone. Long before the Cataclysm, a few wild elf shamans kept this veneration alive in secret, honoring dragons as teachers of balance and guardians of the natural order. With the return of dragons to Krynn, the Circle has stirred once more. In the shadow of the Dragonarmies, its members view the conflict as a test of that balance. They believe the metallic dragons, in particular, embody the harmony between might and stewardship, and so they seek to walk in their image. Kaelthor is one such initiate, shaped not by personal ambition but by the teachings of this hidden circle. To outsiders, he is simply a druid of the wild elves; only those who listen closely might glimpse the deeper oath that binds him to the Circle of Dragons.

Name: Ortelia Foreswift Species: Human Class: Monk (future Open Hand subclass probably) Background: Guide
Backstory:
Ortelia Foreswift was born to a single mother who was part of a nomadic tribe in the Estwilde area. Growing up, she was told that generations ago her ancestors had lived closer to Ohme, but now they were among the very few who still wandered the inhospitable lands of the area. As a result of her upbringing, she became quite adept at navigating the land. And living in the wilds was the norm for her.
While she learned the ways of living outdoors and working with animals, she also seemed to have a small affinity for magic. It brought her to the attention of an older man in the tribe that was part of a group practicing their own unique unarmed fighting technique. Working with him, she developed both skill at some simple magic and specialized fighting techniques.
Her mentor began to even help her refine her outdoors skills, becoming a carographer. The pair spent more and more time venturing on their own. The old man would sometimes serve as a guide for hire for others traversing the lands of Estwilde. Ortelia learned this as well and as she got older, she became a guide now and then for others as well.
Because of her travels away from the rest of the tribe, she was not present when her people were attacked. It seemed nearly all had been killed; survivors were difficult to find. When she found the sight of the attack, she was able to confirm her mother's death, however. It was a difficult blow for her. It was a bit of a mystery as to who was responsible. Perhaps an aggressive goblin tribe. But that just didn't quite make sense. It was odd, for the tribe had only minor difficulty in the past. So, an attack like this was very unexpected.
With no other family, it just pushed her to live on her own more. By this point, her mentor's poor health made it harder for him to travel. He had settled in Firstwal. But Ortelia herself could not just do that. Over the years, Ortelia has traveled as far as Ohme in the north - mainly just to see the place. And she has been to the southern reaches of Estwilde now and then as well. While she loved being along and living in the wilds, it did not mean she detested civilized lands. But her visits to the cities further south were usually not for long. She had traveled east to places like Kalaman and Gaarlus, mostly to find work as a guide.
Ortelia has always wondered about her father. It was a topic her mother refused to discuss with her. She suspects that he hailed from some other land. But whoever he was, it was a secret she took to the grave. Others seemed to either not know or had been sworn to silence on the topic. Even her name Foreswift came from her mother, so even that is no clue. She'd love to find out more, but at this point has nothing to go on.
As this young woman gets a bit older, she is starting to think about traveling farther afield. She has little to tie her to the lands of Estwilde. And she is curious to see new places. She still continues to work as a guide though, biding her time until the time is right. Whatever that might mean.
Class : Ranger (Dex based, with possible multiclass to rogue)
Background : Wayfarer
Backstory : A redheaded Kender from Hillshar on the banks of the Bristle river grew up searching out adventure in the forest whenever he could. He liked to explore nearby caves, on the hopes that he could find any goblins or treasure, things from ages long past. He liked to lie on his back and dream that he would strike it rich one day, he just had to have the right stroke of luck. He would tend to stretch the truth, exaggerating his abilities to be included in any adventure. His friend Vexi tended to get him in trouble, she would never back down, just like him. He had a fascination with elves, and would try to befriend any of them if given the chance.
Funny! That's exactly what I was thinking about when I ran across your invite yesterday! I would love to play a Kender rogue, and now seeing that Twombley has applied with a Kender, maybe we could be siblings? Or long lost cousins! Lol

Backstory :
Vexi loved to gamble. She loved it more than anything, though she would never admit it. Especially since she wasn't any good. However, she was good at picking the pockets of other gamblers, passersby and even friends so that she could continue her gambling. She had many friends in town, and they would cover for her when they could, or when it wouldn't get them into trouble as well, but as time went on - this was happening less frequently and Vexi was getting into more trouble.
Due to this unfortunate hobby, the Wanderlust that hit all Kenders was a little slow in overtaking Vexi, but it did eventually hit her. And at the most opportune time as her welcome in the local gambling establishments had completely worn out. She figures it is time to head out and see how she can make any difference in the War that has come to their ruined world.

(Note that I'm still on vacation and will be again more active from September 1st.)
Sorry, I'm beginning to enter a vacation period and while I will try to check-in at least daily, I cannot promise that I will always be able to do so. From September 1, I should be back to normal.

Name: Ortelia Foreswift
Species: Human
Class: Monk (future Open Hand subclass probably)
Background: Guide

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Elven noble? Fight with sword and spells similar to Gilthanas , as an Eldritch Knight! Qualinesti and Silvanesti High Elves.
Funny! That's exactly what I was thinking about when I ran across your invite yesterday! I would love to play a Kender rogue, and now seeing that Twombley has applied with a Kender, maybe we could be siblings? Or long lost cousins! Lol
Name : Vexi Springheel
Species : Kender
Class : Rogue
Background : Gambler
