Beep boop stupid DM alert. I’m bad at this stuff! Also this is set in my world so that’s why it’s so goddamn weird.
This campaign is highly custom, so it probably won’t fit everyone.
Long ago, there was a world. The world was large, it was filled with magic, and it was also filled with monsters. Some saw the monsters as victims. Others saw the monsters as pure evil. But the monsters were just like humans-they could be good or bad.
The group of you have all been drafted into the military of your country, Nevelan. Nevelan has long been infested with witches and dragons, people who eat others to gain magic and massive beasts that terrorize the countryside. The group of you have been teamed up, about to receive your first quest.
SOME MONSTERS (Called Mythicals, humans call them Monsters): Vampires, Witches (eat humans for their magic), dragons, werewolves, fae.
PLANES: Y’all would have heard of the fae plane and the vampire plane. You don’t know much about them, unless your backstory has to do with them.
SPELLCASTERS: Spellcasters are a weird situation in this world. Some are loved, others hated. Witches and fae are hated by the humans, but if you gained magic from a god the humans deemed as not evil, you’ll be fine, and I’ll only make your type of magic hated if you want it to be hated. I’ll find a reason for your magic not to be hated if you don’t want that.
RACES: Most of this world is human, and y’all are serving in a human military. So the group of y’all will look outwardly human (you can be Mythicals in disguise), unless you really want to look sick. Then ofc I’ll come up with a reason, or you can come up with one and we can make it fit.
RELIGION: This world is actually an alternate reality of our own (same geography, completely different everything else), so it has the same gods. Paustra, the ruler of the gods, is based on the Christian God-but I will definitely make the two far enough that it won’t offend anyone. Other gods can be gods from any mythology.
I’m not exactly the best at being on top of the campaigns I run-most of the time I get bored of them really quickly and just stop them. But I’d like to be different. I’m gonna try to make this experience fun for everyone who joins, including myself, so I won’t drop the campaign. Please take my words with some doubt-trying isn’t doing, so if you don’t want to join because I might drop the campaign, don’t join. Thanks! This campaign is set in a world of mine that I’ve been working on for a bit now, called Tarran.
Some ground rules: Please absolutely no AI. I am an artist and I have no tolerance for those machines.

Level 3 start. Choose one uncommon magic item to start with as well.
I have some homebrew races that aren’t that good, but I’d love to see them used. I can share upon request.
You can send me a quick backstory, and I’ll try to figure out where those backstories fit in the world and how to modify them so that we can get to the backstories in the campaign.
Roll stats twice, pick the stats you like better. If they’re really bad, roll again. You can also use standard array if you’d like.
Not all races really fit into this world, but if you want to play a race, I’ll try to find a way. This world wasn’t exactly made for dnd.

Late 13th century. Round Europe, Nevelan is sorta England. Mythical creatures align with the area their mythology originated. I only really have Europe clear, but I will eventually develop some more areas more.
Like the real world geographically. The lore is that Paustra and the gods abandoned Tarran after Mythicals were created, so the gods are kinda the same, but the countries go a little differently. Although most of them are in the same areas because I got lazy. Jeez this is making me think about how I absolutely need to redo this world.
