Welcome to the world of Alzaara, blessed by two suns. In this world, magical resources are abundant, and magic is in the air everywhere.
Each sun sits at one pole of the planet; Chesca, the Northern Sun, and Prizka, the Southern Sun, are often referred to as brothers. Due to this, neither pole sees consistent nightfall, except when other planets obscure the sun in an eclipse, which seems to happen often in Alzaara. At the frozen equator, there is no definitive day, just as there is no definitive night; the two suns sit in the outer reaches of the sky, lightly illuminating the landscape in their red and golden hues, but never rising or disappearing. Here, if one looks closely enough, they can see the stars and the sole moon.
In this world, many people believe in the Gods. Sometimes, an organism may be born with a birthmark, resembling a tattoo, that influences their life. Over time, people started seeing these marks as blessed, and the ones that bear the marks are considered a God’s chosen messenger. Depending on the God, sometimes the chosen messengers are picked from the bloodline, and at other times, the messenger may not be evident as such; it may be a mushroom, or a squirrel. Due to this, there have been some interesting circumstances where religions form around worshipping something that is not necessarily proven to be almighty.
Either way, those who are truly chosen by a God feel the influence in their everyday life, whether or not they covet it. Someone chosen by the Goddess of Good Fortune may find themselves to have absurdly good luck on a day-to-day basis, while someone chosen by the God of Knowledge may constantly be discovering information without even having to try. Some individuals embrace these blessings, while others fight them, unappreciative or wanting autonomy from their fate.
