High Staff Barnabus Goldmond has died, and so the Low Staff Xavier Pearcox, has risen to take his successor's place. The first act he has taken as High Staff is outlawing any and all use of magic. With the forces of the Staff moving out from the capital, exterminating magic, and killing those who refuse to give it up, there seems to be no remaining hope in the world.

If you would like to make a character for the camapign, please PM me (don't post it there), and use Standard Array or Point Buy for ability scores. The campaign should start within the next week or so.
As far as character creation goes, you will all have been at Devmeleth Magical Institution at the beginning of the campaign, whether it be a student (age does not matter at the Institution), a guard, or someone else who may work there or have business there in some way at the beginning of the campaign. Also, in Trezoth, they have a complicated hierarchy, not just for proffession, but also for your race. Some are looked upon highly, others are not. This is known as the Blood Ladder System. Below is a small chart of how it works.
Highbloods
Born of nobility, a Highblood is fully able to ascend to high positions in the Staffdom, including becoming a Staffmaster (equivalent of royalty). They are looked upon very highly, and are normally set with high expectations in the world.
Elf
Half-Elf
Aasimar
Midbloods
Midbloods tend to be middle-class, working with relativelty high pay and normally being able to keep their lives afloat. Midbloods can ascend to the Staffdom, yet they are not born into a position of which they can easily do so. Midbloods are respected as good workers.
Dwarf
Gnome
Halfling
Human
Lowbloods
After the Melundarians were conquered, and Emperor Zoth I--the original High Staff--witnessed them, he ruled them off as deformities. Anamolies of nature, not meant to happen. They are barely treated with respect of any kind, and are normally forced into slavery or other hard jobs. Many end up living on the streets, begging for coin. It is known for Lowbloods to have been accepted into the Staffdom, but it is rare. One must be truly talented.
Aarakocra
Dragonborn
Genasi
Goliath
Half-Orc
Tiefling
So, for this campaign I was thinking of getting about 6-7 players. As far as keeping a realistic Blood diversity within the group, I'll make sure to regulate it and you don't need to worry.
Cassius Dragonsbane, Human Warlock (Midblood) - YoFizz
Quyst, Tiefling Warlock (Lowblood) - ffMecca
If you're interested, please PM me. I'll post the intro chapter soon, and the camapign should begin within the next week or so. Running out of spots, and it is first come, first serve, so as soon as you give me a link to a character sheet and it is approved, you are in. You don't have a reserved spot if you said you were interested.
It was a normal day at the Devmeleth Magical Institution. The Leaffall Equinox Festival had ended only weeks ago, yet things had descended back to the regular, predictable schedules of the magic school. Students milled about between classes in the large front chamber, traveling from room to room, making their way down the long confusing hallways. The large wooden gates burst open. At least a hundred knights, all with the Crest of the Staff, rushed in, holding wooden staffs that glowed with eletrical energy. They tackled students, draining them of their magic. It was chaos as the knights began to close off exits, and the teachers rushed hurriedly to get students out, but escape didn't seem like an option. Unaware of the others' whereabouts, or even who they are, heroes lie inside the school, even if they aren't aware of it. They must find a way to escape. But how?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gathering what she can fit into her backpack, Quyst puts her hood up over her pale red horns and tries to sneak out of attention while looking for a way out that the knights may not know about, or would take them too long to block. Is there a secret door? Or maybe a sewer that she can use to escape?
If needed:
Stealth check: 18
Investigation check: 1
If she finds a way, whatever kind of way it is, she'll try to tell as many people as she can, while keeping it hidden from the knights.
Sahpooly Runecloak is wrapping up his history class. He is a tall tanned high elf in a set of green robe and brown trousers at the front of a small classroom. "... and the dwarvan made axe could be traded through five or ten hands, either as a valuable commodity that retained worth well, a useful woodcutting tool or a prized exotic weapon. This early exchange of items served to vastly increase the distance that valuable goods would be traded, resulting in early tribes of humans who had no direct interaction with dwarfs possessing goods from specific dwarf smiths from thousands of miles away, long before dedicated trade routes would be established."
At this point, Sahpooly notices that the students near the windows have stopped paying attention to the lesson and are instead openly gaping out the window. Looking out the window himself, he sees the knights attacking students and a wave of cold runs down his back. "Err, class is dismissed," he says distractedly as even more knights are seen pouring into the school. Sahpooly frowns and quickly decides that a bad plan now beats a good plan too late to execute it. "Class, it appears that we are being attacked by the Staff. Any who would like to surrender are welcome to do so. Everyone else, please come with me. There should be a coal chute near the kitchen. Leave anything that will slow you down and we'll try to break out there." Sahpooly grabs his cloak, hat and wand before leads any students following him toward the kitchen. He looses the dagger at his belt for easy reach and murmurs a quick Mage Armor on himself, just in case.

Damnit!, she tells herself after arriving at her last option and seeing it blocked. If there's no way unblocked, I'll have to convince someone to let me pass.
Quyst chooses the exit with fewer knights guarding it. She them casts Thaumaturgy two times: one to make her voice booming and menacing, and one to make the ground rumble. She then tries to intimidate the knights (I hope there's somewhere with like 2 or 3 of them guarding a way out?), also using minor illusion to make it seems like she is producing some kind of powerfull spell coming out of her hands, speaking:
Out of my way, worms! You won't leave this place with life, I promise you! Are you willing to die so someone else gets the credit for stopping us? She now talks to her fellow students and teachers of Devmeleth: Come with me, friends! Maybe we can't win this battle, but we surely can concentrate our attack, stomp those wretches over there and run away to fight another day!
The knights look at each other, before one jabs their staff forward, and as soon as the energy touches Quyst, the spells she had cast vanish, but you still feel the ability to cast spells. You can tell any longer would cause permanent damage.
Make a Dexterity Saving Throw.

Azael Ozymandias, previously hanging out in one of the more isolated parts of the school, almost drunk. He hears the knights break into the school, and soon after sees them, even if they don't see him. Realizing that it was likely trouble, what ever form it was, Az quickly makes his way away from the chaos, making sure to grab his bottle and bag, he dashses towards the back maintenance room (aka, the janitor's room). In the past, it was a good place to hide and get wasted, so might as well go to where he was familiar. It also helped that it smelled like shit, so no one ever wanted to be there.
Hunferho gathers his few belongings back into his small chest, and exits the library room. Normally there is enough warning before a political purge to get safely away, but this new High Staff seems more erratic than most nobles.
He sees Sahpooly Runecloak and his history class rushing down the hallway. That group has now acquired one more student. Safety in numbers, after all. More important, maybe they know of a way out?

Herman is a medium tall human in his twenties, broad shouldered, black hair and black eyes. He wears a wolf pelt where instead of the hood there is indeed the mouth of the wolf.
He has passed his youth in the wild with his tribe before he followed the chieftain' son (his name is Ron) to the school of magic: while the chieftain's son is a pupil, the chieftain let Herman be employed as a guard, to keep an eye on him. At the moment of the breakout, he was simply at the toilette: he puts himself in order while thinking
