In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagon load of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Haliwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business." You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.
You've all just met and are now traveling on the road with a wagon. Please introduce yourselves to each other or don't if you think your character is the secretive or antisocial type. Also, decide which one of your characters knows of Gundren Rockseeker and how exactly they know him. You don't have to do this if you don't want to. I can concoct a reason. But it may be fun for one of your characters to have an emotional tie to him, as it may raise the stakes. And lastly, please tell me how each of your characters are traveling in relation to the wagon. One of you must drive it, but the others could either scout ahead of the wagon, walk beside it, or ride on it, or any other thing you can think of.
Lastly, when you are doing something in character please have IC: before it. If there is no IC: I will assume you are speaking to me not as your character but as a player to the DM. Oh, and please feel free to coordinate with one another about you would like to do before you actually do it.
IC: "Looks like this is going to be an easy trip..., but we will see what the road will show us. Ah by the way, I'm Belsar! Sorry for my poor manners. It's my first time in this region. Has any of you any particular knowledge of this zone? I really hope to see some ancient ruins."
OC: Belsar is hardly more than a boy with short unkempt black hair, his expression is thoughtful and sometimes seems lost in another world, but when he looks at you, his dark green eyes seem to read your soul. There is an aura of untamed power that comes from him. He is dressed in a simple dark brown vest and leather trousers. Beside the quarterstaff that he is holding he does not have any apparent weapons.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
IC: Blond blue eyed fair skinned, Margret tried to move silently as she scouted ahead Stealth13
IC: Keeping an look out for traps set by bandits or an ambush she resisted a giggle as her bat hung grooming itself
tickling her "Be still Tomas, on second thought I need you to stay ahead of me. about 20ft, stay out of sight, warn me of an ambush my friend." she says mentally to him
TrenetFirehawk4729, I'd rather you not make a check until I ask for one. Also, the game hasn't really "started" since everyone hasn't introduced themselves yet.
Blond hair blue eyes Margret stands about 5ft 9 dressed in studded leather and travelers clothes she has her Greatsword sheaved on her back rapier on her side and multiple daggers hung in strategic places
Longbow and a quiver compeat for space on the otherside of her pack
oddly enough a tiny bat (the living type) hangs from inside her hair
IC: I keep yourself alert, Belsar they're always bandits looking for an easy hall young one.
Oh by the way my name is Margret." she nervously keeps an eye out for assailants
IC: "Nice to meet me you Margret! Thank you for your advice about the bandits. By the way...do you know that you have a small bat inside your hair? Is it your familiar?"
IC: Elora goes around and greets everyone with a big smile on her face :D
"Hello everyone, I'm Elora! Nice to meet you all. It's my first time going all the way to Phandalin, can't believe Gundren is paying me for going on a trip.
What about you, are you all from Neverwinter?
Come on horsies, go places. She tells the horses"
OC: Elora is a young woman in her 20's, she has green eyes and black hair with some silver hues. She walks about in simple clothing, carrying a backpack and a staff.
She seems quite relaxed and looks at her feet from time to time with some pride, she has very good quality leather shoes.
If no one would like to drive, she would pop in the drivers seat and guide the cart.
I could say that Elora knows Grunden from the local Inn. As she likes her mead and is fluent in dwarvish, she could have struck some sort of friendship with the dwarf after listening to his stories.
OC: Varis isn't the chatty type and very often seems to get lost in his own thoughts... his eye wandering off to who knows where. As everyone introduces themselves, he casually looks at them as they speak. His piercing blue eyes can sometimes be unsettling, especially when they peek out from underneath his jet black hair which tends to hang down on his face. He too is dressed in simple clothing and around his neck hangs a blue amulet. He sits next to Elora in the front of the wagon. He looks to Elora...
IC: "Yes, Balsar" she takes Tomas from her hair the bat hangs upside down "This is Tomas, he is what you call a familiar. you could say he is a gift from a gnome wizard. At least the spell was." She puts him in a less conspicuous
place while he sends his echo site out around them.
(Hello everyone, I'm Elora) was the first she noticed the wagon driver may not have much experience in driving a wagon
"Slow them down Elora we're not in that much of a hurry. Anyways my name Is Margret I hale from Waterdeep. I'm a fighter and caravan guard by trade." she watches "Pull back gently on the reins then let them loose to slow down"
IC: She frowns at all the non fighter types "Anyone here have a cossbow? light or Heavy thats the traditional way to man (shotgun) next to the driver seat. Magic tends to spook horses and they run outta control"
Not hearing the man sitting next to Elora she adresses Elora "Elora, Who's your friend?"
ooc: sorry I'm not trying to be a jerk, but she has been guarding caravans for a while.
IC: Hearing Margret, Elora tries to slow down the horses a bit "hee, that's it slow it down boys" she says to the horses.
"I've never actually driven one of these before, always saw people driving them and it seemed so simple." she says with a smile.
Elora gives a small elbow nudge on Varis "This here is my pal Varis." "I've heard of waterdeep, never been there though. Been most of my life at the monastery and the last few years in Neverwinter."
IC: Varis reaches into his backpack and casually pulls out a light crossbow and raises it so Margret can see. He then places it on his lap and looks to Elora with a quizzical look, not of annoyance or disgust... "Is everyone around here always so chatty?"

IC: Margret nods to Varis "Well met." then heads to the other side of the wagon to inspect it
Margret notices that the wagon is packed full of an assortment of mining supplies and food. This includes a dozen sacks of flour, several casks of salted pork, two kegs of strong ale, shovels, picks, and crowbars (about a dozen each), and five lanterns with a small barrel of oil (about fiftyflasks in volume). The total value of the cargo is 100 gp.
IC: Margret hears Varis "Nope, just worried about our safety besides names are better than pointing and saying Hey YOU" as earlier she sends her familiar out to scout ahead at least 50ft
Hey, wait for me! Not so fast you bloody humans. Did no one tell you that dwarfs have shorter legs then you walking sticks?
You see a dwarf , in full armor with and a huge shield, running around 100 feet behind the cart. He doesn‘t look exhausted, but really annoyed that someone made the horse walk faster.

She moves to grab one of the bridles "Elora, stop the wagon please"
If stopped she addresses the dwarf. "I;m Margret, Have I seen you before? In one of the caravans"
ooc: Description of our Dwarven friend?
