Chapter 0
A dagger through the heart. A vicious death by his own hand. As the servant fell on the stone floor of the ancient temple, their blood spilling from the wound, an oath made centuries ago had finally been awoken. Magic surged through the floor, to a throne that had been vacant so long ago. And now, in that throne, sat a figure. A deity, once cast out, destroyed by his own family because of his misdeeds. The deity had thought much about his plan over his centuries of imprisonment, and acted quickly. Soon, all the Light Primordial Paladins would be no more, and no one could stand in the way of the dark deity’s plan until he succeeded in eliminating every single last god in the pantheons. This was the beginning of a new era. This was the Age of Azyn.
The lands of Pondaria have begun to sink into ruin as a dark power attempts to invade the plane. A vampire king, an arrakokra pirate lord, an archdevil emperor, and a dark deity, all attempting to rid the world of the last few remaining 'Light Primordial' paladins. All trying to carry out a plot to unleash the almighty evil Dragon Lord Azyn, the only capable of destroying the Light deities. The heroes must try against monumental powers in order to prevent the lifting of the Curse of Azynfall.

Posting
As far as posting activity during the RP, I do request that you are able to post at least once a day, but I understand life is far more important and you may not always be able to. If you are aware of an absence you will have to take for a longer period of time just PM me and I will figure it out. As far as initiative goes, if you are inactive during battle for longer than a day, your turn may be skipped in order to progress the story, but it will all make sense when these situations arise. Just a heads up :)

Party of Characters
These are the party of characters (though the party is yet to be named, we'll get to that later in the campaign).
This campaign is broken up into many parts, between which there will most likely be a break of a few days. The first part will be posted shortly! Enjoy!
Vaulgard doesn't seem like it has been worth the trip. 9 days on the open road, struggling through narrow paths and foggy, wet and muddy trails, all for this. On foot, the journey was agonizingly slow, but you didn't have the time, nor the money to get a wagon. Who you are after surely must've been on foot as well, and you know that you can't be very far behind. The incident occured not long after you had returned to the town of Nevalure, where you had planned to remain for weeks to rest. But, fate never seems to be in your favor. Many of the locals report a kidnapped child--a teenage boy no older than 14, who had been taken, it had seemed, by a vampire-like creature. You've been able to track it this far, but now, when you encounter the first town on the road in over a week, where to look?
You see before you the main street of Vaulgard, a fairly rundown town. Many of the buildings, or at least their exteriors, haven't been rennovated in what appears to be decades. But many of them still appear to be functional, save for the ones boarded up at the windows. On the left side, there is a bar, lights shimmering from inside it, and the smell of freshly baked bread and ale that waft into the air, joyful Dwarvish music playing loudly. You notice that it is two-storied, and clearly has an upper story dedicated to an inn that you could sleep in. Past that is a long row of shops, all of which are closed for the night. At the end of the road is a mossy half-broken stone structure placed next to a large plush mansion, it's a strange combination of things. In the center of the road, at the very end, is another large mansion that you can only assume belongs to the Mayor. There is a temple, broken-down, that lies not far from the mansion. On the opposite side sits multiple residence, followed by a small inn, the lights dimly lit from inside, though it is barely visible from here (anyone without Night Vision cannot spot it).
The dice have been cast. What would you like to do?

Amnesty, looking down at the mud on her boots and slightly adjusting her long hair to avoid dragging it in the mud, hums in thought before looking to her party members. "What now? An Inn?" Ember prissily rests on Amnesty's horns, trying her best to avoid all contact with the mud. Amnesty avoids direct eye contact as the party members discuss. She remains soft spoken, willing to follow the rest of the party's lead.
Fionn looks up "Aye lady, then looks keenly at Amnesty, She says an inn would be a good thing, ifen fer no other reason than to get the mud off the boots and rest the legs. then he whispers An a drink or two wouldnt hurt
Folwyn stands in the street rubbing his boots together trying to wipe off the caked on mud. His voice is low, a deep bass voice, almost like thunder rolling over hills, but a softness to his tone.
A place to rest and a drink sound good to me. I think the bigger place might be best for information on our quarry.
Folwyn stretches, trying to relieve some of the muscle aches. He looks through the town as well, eyes glancing over at the mansion..
No, we aren’t here for that. Folwyn mumbles to himself before looking to the rest of the party.
Folwyn, you don't seem to notice who you're looking for, as the fog seems to shroud many of the buildings, and no figures appear to be walking the streets at the moment, as far as you can tell.

The sound of the Dwarven music catches Thoradin's ear "That'd be the place there! Can ye hear it, the sound of me people? That'd be where we find a good relaxin after the long march! What say ye? Thoradin can barely contain his excitement at hearing the music and the smell of a good ale.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taysia pips up a little, surprisingly energetic. "That fresh bread is calling to me... If you guys think it's alright though, I'd like to check out that temple before we settle down for the night."She'd peer longingly at it.
18 perception check, trying to notice anything strange regarding that temple.
"I don't really wanna do the work today.. I don't reallywannadotheworktoday- I don't really wanna dooo the wooork todaaay... I don't wanna do the work today~"
Come on Tay, that temples not going anywhere, and I’d rather not try searching through it at night. Let’s eat, drink, and rest and I’ll carry you there in the morning myself if you want.
Fionn, however, you are able to spot, through the fog the symbol of the Morninglord Lathander engraved on one of the front walls that hasn't yet crumbled. There is a large piece of paper that seems to have previously been covering the symbol put is near completely peeling off from the stone, as if someone had tried to replace the symbol with a different one.

She looks up at Folwyn before squinting at the ruined temple. "I guess it'll be okay for now. We probably wouldn't be able to find much in the dark anyways.." Turning back to Folwyn, she beams saying, "Guess I'll have to take you up on you offer! Going tomorrow shouldn't hurt~"
"I don't really wanna do the work today.. I don't reallywannadotheworktoday- I don't really wanna dooo the wooork todaaay... I don't wanna do the work today~"
almost absentmindedly "i think i see the symbol of the morninglord-but 'tis covered so im thinkin that it ken wait til morning. Then he looks to the group, So a drink and some bread then.
Considering this establishment is made and owned by dwarves, ducking is nessecary for someone your size, Folwyn. But as soon as you reach the inside, the ceilings are at least ten-foot.
There are tables about the first floor of the inn, some dancing to the music being played by some dwarves sitting on a table. There is a bartender serving drinks and bread, as well as an elven lady standing next to a small podium, with a paper in front of her, likely a room list for the inn at the top level. In the bar, you see an assortment of mostly dwarves, but also halflings, humans, and a few elves and half-elves.
(Something to keep in mind, each of you have a rough amount of 20 gold pieces with you)

Upon entering the Inn, Thoradin is ecstatic. Letting out a loud, rough laugh "Just like me home, who be ready for an ale?" and he heads towards the bar, keeping track of if any of his companions answered his question.
