Greetings! This is a homebrew campaign and as it is my first time as a DM on here, I am looking for just 3 players. I am able to post pretty regularly and it's important you are able to commit to posting at least 3 times a day.
The Royals of Daphine have struck a deal with the ruling family of Fentor. The Daphinian royals have two daughters, the Fentorans two sons. Each kingdom needing a royal couple to rule over it once the current rulers die, it has been decided that one of the daughters will marry one of the sons, and each couple will rule one kingdom.
Daphine is a city sitting on the eastern coast of the region of Echina. The wealthier parts of the city are right on the coast, with poorer settlements on an archipelago of islands in the delta of the river Aesera. Daphine has a reputation for being a city of creatives and socialites, with more taverns than one might expect and more than a couple of locals with a drinking problem as a result. It is common for adventurers and entertainers to pass through Daphine, not only because of its status as a fun city, but because it has a port from which cargo and passenger vessels can easily pass through to Neverwinter.
Fentor sits in the more mountainous region of Echina, closer to the source of the river Aesera. It is a wealthy city known for its universities and ties to religious factions, though it is primarily a city of followers of Oghma. Religious infighting is common and as such the town has been divided into five ‘quarters’. The city is located in a sort of crater, with the quarters surrounding the flatter centre, though King’s Rock is raised out of the middle slightly.
The cities are about 4 days travel apart. Between them are several smaller towns, and a swamp known for being run-over with wrong-doers. Locals can provide safe passage through it, but it will cost you dearly.
You find yourself at the entrance to The Minstrel and Scroll, an establishment in the market ward, past the Merchant's Gate, on the very east of the town, having just stepped off the boat from Neverwinter. The street outside the tavern is lined with an old stone wall. The inn is a single-story half-timbered building with leaded glass windows. Outside is a small noticeboard, containing several messages: Potwasher required, apply within; Have you seen this cat?; Simona, I love you! but only one piques your interest:
You can 'apply within' by posting your:

I will be selecting characters at 6:30pm (GMT) on Friday 1st November and inviting successful applicants to the campaign. If I have enough great character submissions, I may be open to creating a second parallel campaign, but if this is the case it will happen over PM to avoid spoilers for either group.
As you may have been able to guess, this campaign takes place within a sort of alternate Forgotten Realms, with the landmass of Echina located about two days west (by sea) of Neverwinter. If you need a framework for the religion, please use the Forgotten Realms deities. Fentor's citizens favour Oghma, with a smaller group devoted to Lathander.
If you have any questions related to the world for your character building, feel free to PM me.
Lia grew up on the frindges of the criminal underworld in Waterdeep. She has never officially joined a guild, but has often worked for someone in a guilde in one capacity or another. Her mother was an elven maiden, but left Lia to be raised by her father just after she was born. Her father then died in a suspicious manner when she was ten. She had to find her own way in the world since then. She has managed to stay off the streets through a combination of staying with her father's relatives and camping out in deserted homes, or hhomes where the family is just gone for a while.
Recently Lia was staying in the estate of a Waterdeep noble family, who were out of town at their country manner. She made herself at home, as was usual, eating their food, drinking their wine, and going through their stuff. She had it good she thought, relaxing and taking it easy. On her third night she found a secret door that lead from the wine cellar into an underground complex. As she entered this area she found something that told her she had picked the wrong house to squat in. The walls were covered with fiendish symbols, and a statue of some demon lord stood in the place of honor. That statue turned and looked right at her. Lia ran from the house right then and there. She has not stopped running since, leaving town the next day by stowing away on a ship in the harbor, that was going somewhere other than Waterdeep.

Ability scores: 141514111416
Name: Kethaz Litrix
Race: Lizardfolk
Class: Monk
Background: Haunted One
Backstory: Witnessed his tribe massacred by beings unknown. Rescued/adopted by monks traveling the lands and adopted their ways seeking solace in their teachings. Peace did not claim hold, as the vengeance was always there smoldering deep within, biding its time to resurface. Eventually he left the monks seeking knowledge on what possibly happened to his tribe and has been wandering the lands since then, offering his services to those who have need of them. Having no success finding anything about the attacks around Neverwinter, he heard of the land of Echina and his interest in the new land found him seeking travel on a boat to finally make land in the city of Daphine. Where he eventually made his way to The Minstrel & Scroll, seeing that a job offer was waiting for him within.
Background: Peran grew up in a village not far from Port Llast, son to one of the few female fishers to ply the seas. She was fair to the eyes, despite, or even because of her muscular build. She raised her boy well, though alone, and even when she got called back to the sea she made sure Peran did not want for anything when she was away. She never told Peran who his father had been, or how she had even come to meet an Elf from under the water, and Peran only asked about him twice, quickly realizing he would not get an answer no matter how often he'd ask.
The blood called him to the seas as well, and as he grew into a man he too sought out a living aboard a ship. Not as a fisherman, but as a deckhand, first, then a regular sailor in time.
It would not last, however. One fateful evening, in the midst of stormy weather not far from Neverwinter, Peran was one of the few on deck to keep watch, when suddenly a Giant appeared out of the rain and sleet battering the ship. It's blue skin camouflaged it well in the storm, and it was upon the unsuspecting ship before an alarm could be raised. Striking down with an almighty blow, the ship stood no chance, nor did Peran. He was caught right on the spot where the Giant struck, his body jarred by crushing pain and stiffened by a electric shock just before he lost consciousness, the cold of the sea closing in around him.
He washed ashore a long way from home. Naturally, his desire to be out on the high seas has soured a bit, so he took what little belongings he still owned and started making a life for himself on this shore. It did not take long for him to discover that he now had powers he had never known before, but he takes it in stride, letting the winds blow him whichever direction they may.
Backstory: Thorin grew up in a family of soldiers, the martial tradition stretching back generations in his family. He naturally followed the path, joining up with his father. Eventually a life of killing began to wear at him and he began searching for meaning in religion. After his father and six of his brothers to various conflicts he gave up and resigned his commission, becoming an acolyte at a dwarven monastery. His background led him to a strong worship of Marthammor, and his insistence that people of the faith should be out in the world eventually grew to much for the leaders of the monastery. He was sent out on a mission to heal the sick and wounded of the world, but even he knows they simply wanted to be rid of him. Hearing of the conflict in the region he has made his way to Dauphine, hoping to find a way to put his skills to use.
Backstory: As a crew member of the Soggy Bottom, a merchant vessel that transported goods from Neverwinter to various ports across the ocean, it was Byron's responsibility to man the crow's nest and watch for anything that might present a danger to the ship. For the past three years, he enjoyed having a bird's eye view of the world and engaging in the occasional skirmish with pirates... but recently his wanderlust has been getting the best of him.
He decided it was time. He packed up all of his meager belongings and got off at the next port, where he found himself standing outside an inn called The Minstrel and Scroll.

Ability scores: 171013131714
Name: Asxanos Pherai
Age: 32
Race: Human
Class: Rogue/Swashbuckler
Backstory: Asxanos never really had a place he called home. Both his parents died from a disease that ravaged their village when he was only twelve years old. Since then, he travelled with his uncle, who called himself a merchant, but in fact was a smuggling all kinds of dubious goods throughout the North. From him Asxanos learned how to fight and soon the young man worked as security in his uncle's business. Soon after his twentieth birthday though, he decided that it was time to strike out on his own. He did a little adventuring, worked as bodyguard, had a short stint as a pirate and joined a few rather dubious organisations. He once even was on the verge of marrying the daughter of some backwater nobleman, before he was quite rudely driven off his lands. Living from day to day and relishing every second of his life, Asxanos always found the city of Daphine quite enjoyable. On this lattest visit he found an intriguing job offer outside his favorite Tavern...
Previously a soldier of Daphine's navy, John served honorably as a marine, often entering skirmishes at sea and land, as was required of him. His most crowning achievement was during a landing at the kingdom's borders. A small hamlet, abandoned by it's defending lord was about to be assaulted by a number of enemies. John and 1 other marine who had learned about the situation, held the line at the hamlet, while another returned to their company to return with reinforcements. Afterwards, due to the accusations of the lord who blamed his inability to defend the hamlet on John's interference, John was discharged from the military. Taking to life as a wandering sell-sword. For 2 years, he looked for another cause he could call his own, helping those he could, while keeping himself alive.
Backstory: Growing up the youngest son of a wealthy nobleman wasn't hard, but living in the shadow of the great military general brother isn't easy either. To prove his character, Nett (not his real name) joined the military as soon as he could. Nett became strong, fast, and loved by all his fellow soldiers. He worked his way up the ranks quickly having a keen eye for strategy and a furious nature during the battle. Nett never stayed behind with the other ranking officers but joined in the blood shed with all the soldiers. One day word arrived to Nett's tent via and messenger bird that his bother was slain in battle. Though he and his brother was never close it was his responsibility to his family, his father said, to destroy the enemy that made his family look weak.
Weeks pass as Nett marches his unit across the land to the war on the opposite side of the country, There he learns where the general that slayed his brother is camped. Nett takes and small band of only his top five soldiers to the camp to sneak in and assassinate the leader. As he creeps in he hears a thud and a net is thrown over him. A band of bugbears have captured him and drags him the the leaders tent. There the general of the opposing force, a massive bugbear, mocks Nett and stabs Nett in the shoulder with a jewel encrusted dagger. He tell Nett he is only sparing his life so he can send word to the leader of his country of how the war will not end well for him. The bugbear kills the other men in front of Nett's eyes and drags him to the center of the battlefield. The wound leaves Nett permanently weaker than he once was. The injury disgraces him to the point of an honorable discharge.
Nett sends the rest of his days working as a cook in a local tavern, filling in at the front desk when needed. A shell of the man he once was, his dreams are haunted my bugbears, fallen companions, and angels taunting him.
Lenlaia was born in Waterdeep. Her parents were both working for one of the crime lords in town and killed by one of his rivals when she was 5 years old. Ever since, she lived in the streets, clothed in rags and feeding on what ever she could find, begging, stealing, surviving. One day, she was lucky and managed to take a whole bag frome a traveler unnoticed. It contained mostly worthless goods but amongst all the dirty clothes and trinckets, there was a small wooden flute. She started trained her self to play the instrument and noticed people tended to be more generous when she played. Life on the streets got better, but it was still hard. Lenlaia ofthen had to avoid other stray kids, who would mock her, beat her or robb her for beeing a Tiefling. Therefore, she spent all her life thinking she was an ugly disgusting monster. That was until the now 16 year old Lenlaia came by a temple of Sune. A priestess lured her inside by telling her even she was beautyful. Lenlaia was washed, her hair was treated with scissors and combs and she was coverd with oils. Seeing her self in the mirror afterwards, she felt the priestess was right. For the first time in her life she felt confident. She returned often to the temple even after her appeareance and skill with musical instruments got her enough money to afford the luxury of taking baths and perfumed oils on her own. At the age of 19 years, she left Waterdeep to travel the lands and see the beauty of the places, she heard the travelers and sailors in Waterdeep rave about. On her travels, she heard about the "town of fun" called Daphine and descided this place was worth a visit.
Although that roll was great and your game sounds awesome... I just cannot think of a character I want to play currently now that I am trying to sit down and come up with something :P
