Hello I am new to dnd and because I am really interested in getting into the game properly I have been doing a lot of studying into the games mechanics before my first campaign. The campaigns first session starts in about 6 days and I have a life domain cleric ready to go, but I'm considering swapping it out for something else depending on my question.
Lets say we have the above stated, a hypothetical level 7 character with 6 levels into bard and 1 into cleric.
At level 6 a collage of swords bard gets 'extra attack'. At level 1 a war domain cleric gets to attack on their bonus action.
Does this mean that i could theoretically attack four times in a single turn with those 2 attacks and 2 bonus actions?
I do not yet see a rule that goes against this.
My main reason for possibly multi-classing into cleric would be proficiency in heavy armor, but this looks like something nice aswell. The answer might affect what domain and collage I would pick. As a secondary question, would a character with this domain and collage still function as a decent healer for my team? Any other criticisms are welcomed as well. Thanks in advance for any help. I can't wait to get started on my first campaign.
You only ever get one bonus action on a turn. So you only have your two weapons attacks from the Attack action, plus the possibility of using the bonus action to attack again through the cleric feature.
This isn't really the correct forum for this, but to answer the first part no, you never get more than one Bonus Action. This is true even if you take levels in rogue or something else that gives you more options of what to do with your Bonus Action. You have to pick one per turn. Also as I'm sure you read those Bonus Action actions the war cleric gets are finite as you can only do it a few times per day depending on your WIS modifier (probably 3 for a starting character, maybe 4 if you start at a higher level). Thus most turns in which you choose to use Attack as your Action you will get 2 attacks from the Bard, and those few turns a day where you choose to use your Action to Attack and your Bonus Action to attack you will get 3 attacks.
Regarding 'extra attack', it's just an extra swing of your weapon when using the Attack action. You never get more than one main 'Action' (except for Fighter's Action Surge). That's another reason you wouldn't be triggering a second Bonus Action...you only took one Attack Action. Even a fighter with 3 or 4 attacks via 'extra attacks' is still just using one 'Attack Action' to perform them. With a few exceptions like Action Surge you get ONE of each of the following during a round of combat in 5e: Action, Bonus Action, Free Action, Movement, Reaction.
Hope that is helpful and doesn't add confusion. Good luck! Sorry, need to get back to work and can't dive into the healing topic.

Ahh. Thank you so much. I understand.
