Class: Bard

Abilities: Ability scores: 151312151512
Backstory: (more can be given if needed but I kept it brief)
The child of two long-time adventurers, Seiren Tibovza had a troubled childhood. Her father, a moon elf, met her mother after his exile from Evereska, where he was from a royal bloodline but had broken several of their sacred traditions and rules regarding bringing outsiders into their hidden valley. Her father brought with him his brother and sister-in-law, exiled along with him, effectively cutting their family out of their original homeland forever. For awhile, the four traveled together as adventurers with the elves' exile kept secret. They eventually had three girls, instead, and their adventures were put to a stop as they settled in Baldur's Gate. Seiren's mother was a divinely-blessed aasimar, but Seiren and her sisters were more predominantly elven, only retaining a more human skin and eye color.
Her parents' marriage fell apart for a myriad of reasons, and by fifteen, Seiren was taking care of her sisters and working as her father abandoned them and moved to Waterdeep with a new wife and two sons. Seiren's end goal was to either get a job working at Candlekeep or gain entry into the Academy of Stargazers to further support her mother and sisters with the prestige and money those would bring, but as her family lost the wealth provided by her father after the divorce, neither of those options were within reach. She resorted to becoming her mother's blacksmith apprentice, working herself into what she was sure was an early grave, until the fateful day an invitation to another academy arrived...

Class: Druid
Subclass: Circle of Land (Coast)

Backstory:
Raised along the coastline, Waves never had the chance to meet her father before he returned to his own plane of existence. Her mother loved to tell her stories about him though, and from what she's been told he was good, if a little fancy free. You can't keep a Marid pinned down for very long, because eventually they find their way back to the waters they call home.
Her mother trained her in the magics surrounding the coastline, and much to her delight Waves was a natural. It wasn't long after that, her mother revealed her own secret. A feather, a single feather. From a creature that she'd seen once, but never again. It intrigued her, and she wished to rediscover it and learn what it is. She gave it to Waves the day she received her letter, asking that she finish what she started, and discover the mysteries behind the bird.
Description: Nearly 5 ft tall and bright blue as a result of magical mishaps, but otherwise with standard goblinoid features, beady little eyes, big ears and nose, and his personal hygiene leaves something to be desired.
Grizzle is well aware that he's quite mad, he just doesn't let it bother him too much. He wasn't always mad, but then he didn't always have Big Magic. That only happened after he found his Smiley Scowler a wooden rod with a grinning face at the end, except sometimes its a scowling face. At first he only used it as a hitting stick, to keep the other goblins in line, but then he started being able to do Big Magic. His clan was able to use his Big Magic to ward off their enemies and grow strong. His Big Magic mostly happened how he wanted, but there were... mishaps. That's how he got so big (for a goblin) and bright blue. And there was that time that he blew up most of his village... and the other time... and the other time... by the next time, there wasn't a whole lot left of his village, and they decided that having Grizzle around to protect them was worse than no protection at all, and he was no longer welcome there. Which was fine by him, none of them appreciated how brilliant Grizzle was.
He lived by himself for a while, but eventually got bored of talking to the rocks and trees, they didn't make for a good audience for his Big Magic. Maybe he needed a trip, something to challenge him and his Big Magic. Maybe a way to learn how to make it even Bigger. This Banhaven Academy place sounded interesting, they can see how awesome Grizzle and his Big Magic are!
Growing up the son of a tavern keeper, Akanos “Kane” Novak had a gift for telling stories. As he could clean the ashes of the fireplace or wash the dishes, he would entertain the guests with stories of giant slayers and underwater kingdoms. As he grew older, he found that his words could have a magical effect as well. He went to school like all children and excelled at history and public speaking. When he graduated, he revived an invitation to the Banhaven Academy of Magical Arts. Jumping at the chance for him to control his magical powers, he packed his bags, waved his dad goodbye, and hit the road for the school.
Though arcane magic is not unusual for kobolds, it isn’t something that occurs very regularly either. Shai’s tribe was a small one living deep in the jungles, and always had one sorcerer at a time. The tribes current sorcerer has been alive for a long time for a kobold, so when Shai was born, and started showing magical abilities the elders and his parents kept it a secret. But now that he’s almost an adult it’s harder and harder to hide. So when the invitation arrived it seemed like it was sent by Kurtulmak himself! A way to get Shai out of the tribe which would shun a sorcerer born out of turn, as well as for him to learn how to control his powers.

Subclass: School of Illusion
Ability scores: 131014141315
Backstory:
Ezri spent most of her life in the criminal world. She was not a street rat, abandoned by her parents. Well, she was left to an orphanage as a baby, due to the death of her parents. But she did not spend much time there, as a rather wealthy couple adopted her when she was 2. Most of said wealth was ill-gotten, as they moved and sold illegal goods. Her parents gave her a fairly good childhood, all things considered. There was plenty of normal family time. The genasi was a bright child, and quickly took to any lesson her tutor challenged her with. At 12, her parents started getting her more involved in the 'business'. While in the past, she occasionally watched some dealings, now she was learning more of the details: how to strike a deal, when to take a job, who to trust, and most importantly how to tie a tie. As she entered her teenage years, she would get more and more involved. Moving shipments, scouting meeting locations, and a bunch of other stuff varying in excitement.
Magic was something she started picking up for a few reasons. It was not uncommon to get some magical items of some kind, and her interest in how it worked, mixed with her own innate magic, got her interested. Magic was also useful for when things started to get awry. A quick disguise self could help with a get away, or using Light on something as a signal. For most of her life, she followed in her parents footsteps, because that was what she was raised for. Quickly Ezri found she really enjoyed casting spells, and convinced her parents to allow her to try and pursue it further. They allowed her, buying her tomes to learn from until she could get into a proper school. While she was not directly going to be helping the business, they saw the longterm potential of letting her become a wizard. And they wanted her to be happy. Her time studying alone came to an end when one day a letter arrived at their home.

Backstory:
Zira is the daughter of an underworld strong arm trying to make her own path. She's heard of the school and found a new affinity with magic. She's a thief by trade in the 'family business' but longs for a, dare she hope, better life outside the criminals and spies that raised her. Zira is dedicated, humorous, proud, and perhaps a little reckless at times rogue spell caster (if allowed). The half-orc/half -elf often using humor to defuse tension or pranks to put those who think they are above others in their place. Born in the port city of Luskan, also known as the City of Sails, Zira was a rebellious child who listened to the songs of the bards and the tales from the smugglers in her family's business from her infancy dreaming of adventure. Although Zira grew up in the underworld she longed to be a hero like the tales and songs that her childhood inspired! With Zira's curiosity and perseverance, there's nothing to stop her from finding a way to great acclaim and receiving a letter from Banhaven seems her greatest invitation to the world outside the shadows where she grew up. With the right training and mentoring Zira could quickly become a person of great importance and a legend in her craft. She already knows she makes a good thief having friends in high as well as the lowest of places in society but she longs to be a hero.

The Orwane family, the story goes, were stewards to a few of the great wizarding families of Aldurgen, a remote demiplane-city renowned for the creation of particularly wondrous magical items, some of which are now considered standard for the interplanar traveler. His parent's master, a retired teacher of Necromancy at Banhaven Academy of the Magical Arts, agreed to oversee his training and studies in exchange for his parents death and resurrection as permanent members of the household staff. An unusual arrangement, one might think, but passably common in that far corner of multiverse proper. Now, newly bestowed with a reflection of his master's power, Enoch eagerly looks forward to beginning classes at Banhaven, the same institution whereat his master taught, and even trained in eons past.
Bugz was abandoned young by his group during a time of famine, sent to wander alone in the woods not far from the Feywild. The strange and dangerous place would have proven the death of him if he didn't run into a clan of Fey. For weeks, the bugbear tailed the group, sneaking food out of their camps, until he was caught. Instead of killing him on the spot. The fey were impressed with his ability to survive and hide in a dangerous place. The decided to adopt him into their clan naming him Bugz. Bugz spent many years wandering the Feywilds with his new clan. During that time he learn to survive, fight, and know the ways of the clan. The Feywilds affected Bugz greatly increasing his growth and endowing him with unordinary and wild powers. Bugz thought he would spend his life running free, but that life change when a letter fell out of the sky from nowhere.

Surviving by his wits and the help of the crew and other passengers, the Professor--now called "Glasses" by the natives he encountered along the way--finally made it to Port Nyanzaru, where he spent time recovering and recording his adventures. Backstory:
Rashad's egg was captured when his clan was raided by a rivaling clan, but it was found by a smuggler, who gave it to his wizard friend. The wizard adopted him as his own, and trained him in the study of the arcane. Rashad took a natural aptitude to casting spells, but he desired more than just to be a wizard like his adoptive father. He wanted to be trained in weapons and combat. So Rashad signed up for an axe-throwing competition, making sure to put in extra dedication and training before surprising everyone by winning. His handaxes are a memento to his success in the competition. Rashad eventually fell in love and married, having two children. When the youngest was barely two years old, Rashad was enlisted into the military, where he served ten years before suffering a major wound. On account of his wound, Rashad was honorably discharged from the military, and he settled down and built a new inn/tavern complex near his childhood home. The tavern was relatively successful, and the students of Banhaven Academy would visit it on account of the quality ale and Rashad's hospitality. They recommended him to the headmaster as a new combat/defense teacher. By that point, his skills had become rusty, and his wound still pained him, nevertheless he accepted the offer to teach. He still works as the tavern keeper by night while he teaches at the Academy by day.

Now, newly bestowed with a reflection of his master's power, Enoch eagerly looks forward to beginning classes at Banhaven, the same institution whereat his master taught, and even trained in eons past.

Surviving by his wits and the help of the crew and other passengers, the Professor--now called "Glasses" by the natives he encountered along the way--finally made it to Port Nyanzaru, where he spent time recovering and recording his adventures. His writing must have been sufficiently scholarly to attract the attention of the Banhaven Academy, and when the invitation came, he took leave of his friends and accepted the magical summons to appear at the school, ready to learn more about the elements that form our world.

Name: Rashad Hiensenniik
Race: Dragonborn
Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight)
