In a dockyard on the western edge of the nation of Grag'Shar assembles the Crew of The Paladin's Scurvy.
Grag'Shar is a military state pledged to the iron empire, and the city you're in, Yolan, saw considerable buildup over the war, rising to prominence as a source of skyship manufacture. It's plateau is largely given over to manufacture and garrisons. Large chunks of the fleet are being sold off, and the Scurvy is one of these. The end of the war signals uncertain times ahead for the people who live here, and as far as many are concerned, you represent that. Your treatment here hasn't been great, and it's apparently the strict control the military over the town that has allowed you to walk the streets peacefully, or buy anything at all. The common folk see you as a vulture, and the leadership see you as the last certain source of income they may have for a while.
The chilly reception matches the weather, which alternates between sleet and cold wind off the northern sea. The scent of salt never leaves the air here, and the overcast sky is dotted with ships day and night. If you've been present for a few days, you've noticed the number of ships slowly dropping off. Some of those will be competitor privateers. More will be private shippers, and the better part of them are headed for rolls in distant lands.
Your letters of mark sanction you to sell anything taken from those living outside the borders of the Iron Empire, with the nearest likely targets being the outlying parts of Can Tinodeus to the farther west, and the unaligned settlements between their borders and yours.
Since this is the first post, treat this as the exposition of the story. Describe your character as they enter onto the ship for the first time, and meet whoever has already arrived. In particular, try to convey something about your character to the other players. You can feel free to narrate minor NPCs to this end (most in this region are hobgoblins and bugbears). Assume the group will set sail by Thursday night.
Prometheus earns many a horrified stare and disgusted glare as he lumbers towards the ship. His body is twisted and misshapen, nearly twice as tall as an ordinary person, with too-long limbs like tree trunks. What skin is visible beneath his elegant clothes is crisscrossed with scars, and a pallid, greyish color, though there is some variation in skin tones between the stitched-together patches of skin. Contrasting with his hulking, grotesque appearance are his fine clothes, which are consist of a deep purple long coat and pantaloons, and a clean, white shirt beneath. Clearly, they are quite expensive, though upon closer inspection they appear to be fraying in places. As the others approach he sweeps his befeathered cap off his head and bows low, grinning with a shark's mouth full of sharpened teeth.
"Good day," he croons, "it seems that we will be sharing this ship for the forseeable future. You may call me Prometheus."

Ssehei makes her way down the streets of Yolan towards the ship. She ignores the stares and grumblings of the populace and hisses at those who make more aggressive motions towards her. It does not matter if the people liked her or not. Having access to a ship again after so long put her in a fantastic mood. Ssehei is tall, usually standing taller than the average human, but her tail trails behind her for several feet. As a Yuan-ti abomination she is about 10-12 feet long if she stretches out, and completely covered in brown and black scales from head to tail. Her eyes were a golden color and seemed to be attentive to everything around her. She wears some basic armor, a chain shirt with some leather over her chest and arms, and wears a red sash around where her waist would be if she were human. She carries a longsword on her back.
Arriving at the Paladin's Scurvy, she slithers up the gangplank and looks around. Satisfied with what she sees she looks over at those who have gathered and nods in greeting. "Ssehei Nuhsa," She says, a hissing accent evident in her voice. "How to you find the ship?"
It is right here, monster (I think it would be appropriate from the cruel monstrous leaders that he rebelled from).

Lila strides up to the group. Her mouth is twisted into a smirk, which you will soon learn is her normal look, and her eyes roam from one member to another. She has beautiful brown hair but it is roughly shorn at her shoulder, seemingly done with a knife. Her style of dress is not at all what you would expect, with large baggy pants and a jacket that obviously was meant for a man that is belted around the middle. Attached to the belt is a single edged duelling saber and a short dirk, both sheathed in black leather. She walks over to the goblin, Knicknack, placing her hand arm his shoulder and whispering in his ear "Careful who you insult, cabin boy"
Turning to Ssehei "The ship is in a fine state, Captain. I cant speak for the rest of the crew, however. Oh, where are my manners! I am Delilah Bard, but you can call me Lila."
"Bard, ya' say? That your profession, ya' surname or both?" The voice, high-pitched, scrapey, and androgynous, issues from a small gelatinous purple ball, in which is suspended glittering points of light and a smaller sphere bearing a spiderweb pattern. "Mine's Seeker. Surname, not profession, 'cause that's not a profession, more like a calling. Amaranth Seeker." Hovering in the air behind the talking sphere is back pack, as if following it. "I'm looking for Scurvy. I mean, not like I'm looking to have scurvy, not get scurvy, like not have it. On it. Like a paladin. Paladin's Scurvy, the. Get me?"

Prometheus follows the others onto a ship, and it shifts ever so slightly under his weight.
"The ship is a fine thing, my lady." He frowns. "I cannot say the same of its name, however, as such an elegant vessel requires an equally elegant name. But it is not my place to criticize such things, so I shall remain mum about the matter."
The stitched giant turns to the sentient jell-o mold, and extends a manicured hand toward it.
"Seeker, you have successfully sought what you seek. Welcome to the... oh, it pains me to say it... the Paladin's Scurvy."

The ship's a decommissioned military vessel, sold off now that the war it was built for is over. I'm assuming the current name wasn't the military designation.
Prometheus and Delilah still need milestones. Knicknack still needs to have his milestones revised. Unless the crew needs to do somethings in port, they can takeoff whenever they like.
From here, several possible destinations exist;
Northwest, over the ocean, for fishing and whaling.
Due West, where they pay for goblin scalps.
Southwest, over the foothills of the Northern Crags, where the dwarven settlements are unaligned, and thus fall under your Letter of Mark.
West by Southwest, over the plains called The Sea of Grass, where human and orc tribes are as often shepherds as slavers. They are also unaligned.
Due South, over the Obsidian mountains. A region known to have many small settlements that fence goods for pirates. Likewise unaligned.
The instant I here about the west I stand up. "We will NOT be buying ANY goblin scalps. However, I vote we go there eventually when we're more powered up to kill their oppressors"
This is in an Irish Brouge
