"The kingdom of Dragoneye was always of much trouble, but there is one thing that makes matters worse. A deadly civil war has broken out across the kingdom, thousands of innocent lives slaughtered, villages and towns destroyed, and the king is doing nothing. Someone has to take a stand and do something before this kingdom falls into ruin."
About the DM
I am a relatively new DM (now 2 years), who is able to put together a great storyline. After a while of DMing on DnD Beyond, I decided to take a break, but after a while, I decided to come back to it.
Campaign Details
The War of Sins takes place in the troubled kingdom of Dragoneye, a place full of adventure, and a place where travelers go to get stronger. However, a holy civil war has broken out between the worshippers of Bahamut and Tiamat, which threatens the very foundation of the kingdom itself. The overall goal is to stop the war, but just taking to them would be a suicide, the adventure goes on to find a way to stop this war, but I'm not going into much detail.
Regions
Regions: Bahamut Fields- A very peaceful grassland named after the dragon god of good. It is rather slow here, and the war seems to completely ignore this place. There is are two towns here; the first, named Remanant, was formed from the remains of a fallen castle, several war refugees have fled to this town for shelter. The other, Fleurebrook is a town untouched by the war, because of how isolated and hidden it is. Tiamat Fields- This grassland is named after the dragon goddess of evil, and is where the fighting happens the most. It is very dangerous, and all townsfolk advise travelers to stay away from that place. All of the towns in that region have fell into ruin due to the war, even the castle town. The only structure left standing there is Semun Castle, the castle where King Orrus resides. Aquabrook- A rather barren beach in the southwest of the kingdom, There are no towns on this beach, but there is a legendary statue of a female merfolk, where legend says if one sleeps by the statue at midnight, they will become one with the sea. However, nobody knows what the legend truly means, since anyone who tested the legend was never seen again. Mistgrove- A strange enchanted forest covered in a strange mist one easily get lost in, but somehow the elven can navigate the forest without getting lost. Elvenoak is the one Within this forest, where the elves of the kingdom reside. Rhonorun- a desert in the northwest of the kingdom. The extreme heat and dunes of sand of the desert makes it difficult to traverse without proper clothing. Valandeep, the town of this region, has several citizens who have gotten used to the heat of this desert, and are very willing to help travelers get across. Whitecap- A powdered mountaintop found in the south. The freezing conditions make traveling up the mountain without proper clothes impossible. The town of Scarish has citizens who enjoy the cold weather of the mountain, but are not very warn when welcoming visitors. The Voheat- An underground region that is extremely dangerous for low level adventurers to travel in, because monsters make their home in the these dark caverns. There is not one town in there, but the Burning Sanctum is a safe and welcoming place to take a rest in.
Locals (WIP)
The people of Dragoneye have been open to all races, but after the civil war started, they have become more paranoid, and have not treated visitors the same way that they used to.

Race: Tiefling (Subrace) Descendant of Mephistopheles
Class: Warlock (Subclass) Fiend
Background: Sage
Alignment: Lawful Good
Backstory: Akanos Novak was born the son of a tavern keeper and a mother unknown to him. His father treated him like a slave and he was bullied and humiliated by the townspeople for being a Tielfing. At age 16, he ran away to join a mages’ college. After displaying his inert talent for magic, Kane graduated from the college with honors from being an exceptional student. Kane went adventuring a few years, discovering different relics and treasures. When he was 20, Kane discovered a temple dedicated to the Archdevil Mephistopheles. There was a landslide and Kane became trapped. After four days, Kane was on the verge of starvation and lack of oxygen. Suddenly, Mephistopheles himself appeared. He told Kane that he had been observing him for some time, and he told him that Kane is his descendant from a pact made with Mephistopheles 2,000 years ago. Mephistopheles offered Kane a deal: become his disciple and he will not save Kane’s life, but he will grant him magical power beyond comparison. Kane, wanting to live and tempted by the power, he accepted. Moments later, Kane was teleported outside the temple. Since then, Kane has used his powers for good and has argued with Mephistopheles several times over his good deeds. Kane is kind and caring to his friends. However, he is merciless against his enemies. Stats: Point Buy
Alignment: I don't really use the alignment system.
Background: Sailor
Backstory: Halfast grew up at a village near Aquabrook. He was a normal halfling, except for his love of boats and the water. One day he slept by the statue and met a stranger who gave him strange powers of weather and water. The next summer, he saved a friend from drowning and began to worship the stranger at the beach. Now, at the age of 51, he has gone on an Adventure. Halfast is 3' 6" and goes berserk if anyone calls him Half(Which people will. I know that from experience).
Even though i already sent it i will post here again just to have all character sheets in one page :)
Name: Jiji Race: human Class: priest Alignment: Background: nun from a burned down convent Backstory: Jiji was found by the nuns at a convent, since they already helped feeding children they decided to take care of her. For several years she learned some basic healing magic. When she was 17 she went to buy some food from the city. When she came back the convent has been burned due to a colleteral damage caused by the war Bahamut and Tiamat and Jiji set as her new and only mission in life to stop the war. To not only avenge her sisters but to avoid other people dying due to this war
Backstory: Dockworking, sailing and fishing has been Sinjin’s calling until the unfortunate run in with the port captain’s daughter. Sinjin has moved inland until the heat is off. But who knows where the fates will lead.
Backstory: Grew up in privileged family with access to advanced learning. A natural at arcane history he was able to quickly pick up the abjuration tradition and become a valued member of the community. With natural physical talents as well (1 level of fighter) he transferred to the Kingdom of Dragoneye to improve his talents and gain strength. The Bahamut vs Tiamat holy war didn't make sense to Mason and his goal was to convince his closest friends to leave it alone. That failed miserably and he is now ready to find another solution.
Hello. I would be interested in joining your campaign. If you accept me, we can hammer out the finer details of the backstory. Thanks for your consideration!
I have a character concept I wouldn't mind trying out. The barbarian is supposed to be a tank and not really a damage dealer.
Race/Class: Half-orc (flavored as Human) Barbarian, Path of the Beast
Background: Noble (Wasn't sure what to put here)
Backstory: (The backstories I usually write are really long, so I'll try to keep this short)
Umbraxas was once a dragon. He was part of an order of dragons serving Bahumat. This order was dedicated to combating the spread of chaos and evil. Umbraxas as a higher ranking dragon in the order. He was one of the more violent members, and he loved to fight. He was sent on a mission with three other dragons to punish and destroy a cult of Tiamat. They destroyed the base of the cult and worked their way to the middle where they were met by the leader of the cult. The cult leader was overseeing the construction of a powerful magical weapon. Instead of destroying the weapon like he should have, Umbraxas fought the leader, who turned out to be a red dragon. The weapon escaped, and the leader was badly injured. Umbraxas and the others returned back to their base, and Umbraxas thought he would be rewarded for his valiant combat. Instead, Bahumat himself punished him for allowing the weapon to escape. Bahumat stripped him of his dragon form and trapped him in the form of a human. He told Umbraxas that if he ever wanted to be a dragon again, he would need to prove himself. Although strict, Bahumat is fair. He altered Umbraxas' human form to be stronger than most. He also have him the ability to transform partially into his dragon form as reminder of what Umbraxas was and as a punishment (as in "he's close to being a dragon, but isn't, so it's a painful reminder). As a further, more cruel punishment, Umbraxas was given a cloak made from his own hide. With a stern dismissal, Umbraxas was banished to live among the common folk.
Class: Rogue (subclass either Arcane Trickster or Phantom if allowed)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Background: Trained as a Spy
Backstory: Will depend on which subclass, I have a different story for each, not sure if you accepting Tasha's. But grew up in a fairly wealthy Elven family, father and mother both part of king's court. Father was a military genius, mother was a bard. Older brother trained to be future champion and general. Brightmoon trained in spy craft with goal of becoming spy master. Story diverges from here depending on subclass.
Okay, so Brightmoon's story will be that his brother fell in battle to a Drow necromancer and is now reanimated as a servant and his soul is held captive. Brightmoon tried to save his brother but was injured very badly and possibly had to be resurrected. He just knows he awoke several days later and could now hear ghostly voices. He left his family to track the necromancer and is using his spy/rogue skills to hunt for his brother. (he will become a phantom thief as he levels up)

Um, you start at level 7, and its milestone leveling, not XP leveling.
Hello! I'd love to join. If you accept me, I'm happy to change bits and pieces of my backstory as needed. I was thinking her clan could either live on the outskirts of the elven forests in some kind of a cave system or in the sides/bottom of the whitecaps/other mountains, but let me know what you think.
Name: Cayasinia "Blade" Linxakasendalor
Race: Dragonborn (Gold)
Class: Paladin (Oath of Devotion)
Background: Noble
Backstory: I'll try to keep this somewhat short...
From a young age, Cayasinia had a strong sense of right and wrong, always telling her clutchmates off. They began calling her "blade" as she could wield words and strength as a sword. As the clan leader's daughter, her words held sway, although she was the third born child. Knowing she likely would never rule, she trained with her mother, a fearsome warrior who wielded magic and the blade with ease. When her older sister died, her father took over her training. He taught her elvish, as her clan had strong ties with the elves. He taught her history aplenty, grooming her to rule in case her brother died. When her elder brother produced twin heirs, she was again free to do what she wished, almost any chance of being the heir to her clan gone. Her mother had deemed her training complete, and for the first time in her life was free to do what she wished. Some part of her wanted to explore the outside world and correct injustice wherever it may be. Caya, with her parents permission, set off to make a name for herself and her clan. She would pursue justice, and she would make her Linxakasendalor ancestors proud. She was Cayasinia Linxakasendalor, daughter of Aprax Linxakasendalor, a proud gold dragonborn who wouldn't bow to any evil no matter what it may be.
Backstory: Originally an orphan, Issac was taken in by the Order of Helm, particularly, a member of the order who took a more active stance on their God's actions. To be a guard, was to protect the people, and sometimes that called for initiative. You couldn't always wait for the dangers to be upon you and those you wished to protect, sometimes you had to strike first. So he began to be taught, in the ways of the Order, yes, but also in the ways of the silent blade, how to best strike, first and quick, so that they couldn't stop you or worse, hurt those you swore to protect. Having been serving the temple most of his life now, the war has strained many people's lives, and his mission is to stop it from destroying more.
Race: Human (or whatever is most common in the setting)
Class: Bard (College of Whispers)
Background: Spy
Backstory: (Will try to come back to this later these days and expand on it.)
Ofcourse born by another name, but even he himself can't really remember any other name than his codename. The "before time" –as he likes to call the period before getting his codename– consisted mostly of getting some education, no major scrubbles and not much of note. Until he got in contact with "Shadow Incarnate" Franklin Walker who introduced him to the College of Whispers at the age of 15. Quickly he left school and started his (now 25 year long) carreer as a spy.
As part of the spy network for the Tiamat side of the war Tuner has done operations on both side of the war. Seeing how nothing he has done so far had no real impact on the outcome of the war , he is looking to find another way to leave his mark on this conflict.
I was wondering. Is the idea for the campaign that we are on one side of the conflict?
