so a while ago the class variants UA article was released and with it an option to replace the favored enemy feature, an feature many players did not feel was adequate, with the ability to cast hunters mark a few times per long rest without concentration and it is an fantastic feature and it is lovely and all but i am a little curious as to how it will interact with the feature it is replacing at later levels, namely at 6th and 14th level, the ranger is supposed to get new favored enemies and at 20th level the ranger deals extra damage or is extra accurate against those favored enemies. Will an ranger who chooses to get favored foe instead of favored enemy get no new class feature at 6th or 14th level besides natural explorer or deft explorer features, or will the ranger get new favored enemies at 6th and 14th level, basically delaying the accusition of the feature until later? And the fluff for favored foe states "You can call on your bond with nature to mark a creature as your favored enemy for a time", does this mean that you benefit from foe slayer if you have targeted a creature with hunters mark using this feature?
