So, the Horizon Walker's whole deal is protecting the material plane from extra-planar threats from the inner and outer planes (I think of them kind of like the green lantern corps but with planes instead of space), so it stands to reason that their favored enemy would be something weird and planar.
When choosing a favored enemy from "aberrations, beasts, celestials, constructs, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, giants, monstrosities, oozes, plants, or undead", which do you think be the most common "extra-planar threat" creature type.
My guess is either aberrations or elementals, but celestial, fiend, and Fey would also qualify. Not sure how many celestial enemies I'd have, and fiend/Fey seems a little specific, so would aberrations be the most broadly applicable choice?
This may sound boring but, I would pick 2 common humanoid races for 1st level Favored Enemy. At 6th I would make a choice that supports the Horizon Walker subclass.

Fiends are just as good a choice as aberrations. They're constantly working to invade the Material Plane.
That makes sense. And I wouldn't get conned out of learning another language...

I would also go with fiends first, aberrations second, then fey or elementals.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Most creatures have a language (especially extra planar ones).
Aberrations - deep speech, celesials - celestial, elementals - primordial (with 4 dialects), fey - sylvan, fiends - abyssal (demons) and infernal (devils).
Oh right. I was thinking of aberrations as beasts, forgot there were intelligent ones too
