Am I mathing right? +16 in 2 stats

I recently built my first Rouge, and I ended up with a +16 in both Sleight of hand and Stealth at level 1
here's the process that got me here, let me know if anything is wrong
(this character was made exclusively with the 2014 player's handbook)
-- Chose wood elf for +2 in dex
-- rolled a 16 for my dex, added up to an 18, so +4 base dex modifier
-- chose proficiency in Sleight of hand and stealth with Rouge, bringing bonus to +6
-- chose "Urchin" Background which grants proficiency in Sleight of hand and Stealth, making my skill bonus +8 for both
-- chose expertise in both skills; expertise states: "at 1st level, choose 2 of your skill proficiencies, or 1 of your skill proficiency and your proficiency with thieves' tools. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of the chosen proficiencies"

so it would only be +12 then?
