I am enjoying a swashbuckler build that is now starting to take some wild magic sorcerer. I plan on using booming blade often and sorcery points to use the quickened version too. So I will be converting a lot of spells to sorcery points for this character.
I also would like to use and recharge tide of chaos frequently. The problem is that it can only recharge on a 1st lvl spell or higher cast and a roll on wild magic table - and I will be using most spells for sorcery points.
I want to propose to my DM to let me recharge tides of chaos when I convert 1st level or higher spell to sorcery points (given I don't convert those points back to a spell later) or even when I use two or more sorcery points (the equivalent of a 1st level spell). I would of course roll on wild magic table to do this just like regular Tides of Chaos. I also wouldn't use the level dependent sorcery points for this feature so that the number of times I could recharge tides of chaos would be the same as if I was just using 1st and higher level spells.
Only your DM can determine if something his reasonable for his campaign. Setting that aside, RAW Wild Magic Surge normally only happen when you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher and Tide of Chaos cannot be recharged using Sorcerer Point but can via Wild Magic Surge after casting a 1+ level spell.
Yea I certainly understand that the DM has the final word - I suppose I was just looking to get some input on whether or not people see this as balanced or if there is anything I overlooked that can be brought to my attention.

Hi everyone,

Does this seem reasonable?
