Do we need proficiency in shields to use Fire Shield?
I've done a search and can't find an answer. Fire Shield doesn't explicitly say you need shield proficiency, but it doesn't explicitly say you don't need it either, so it's implied that you do. However, for this to be a useful spell, you'd need to take the feat Moderately Armoured, which is a big ask for a 4th level 10 minute duration spell.
Aside from the name, the spell Fire Shield does not work like a shield. "Thin and wispy flames wreathe your body for the duration." There is no need to specify a proficiency because the spell does not require one to work.

Ah, I see, so there's no bonus to AC either then. Got it. Thanks!
